Ernie Ball 2215 4-stars Reviews
Great strings
Works as expected. I have yet to break a string.
Great budget set of strings
This really is a great set of strings and very affordable for more frequent change of strings. Been going with these for quite some time and can say that theyâre good for some lower tunings as well. The bends on higher strings feel very crisp. The durability is very high as well. In five years of active playing I think I have had only one or two occasions of a string breaking. Only thing I wish for is some kind of coating on the strings so it is even more comfortable playing with these strings.
Ok strings
Not my favourite. Sound good but I prefer D'addario.
Somethings never change and that's good.
I've being using these for 40+ years and they are always consistent, sound great and last a longtime. Thanks Ernie
One of the best in it's price range
Very nice sounding, very durable... I don't remember ever breaking one of strings. However, always whip them off after playing, they may lose color if You don't.
Cheaper but honestly I prefer the elixir sound
Very good for playing lower tuned music!
Looks super sleak when those strings fade from beefy to skinny.
Works on Drop B and A really well.
Only thing you might want to watch out for is snapping that 1st string since it is really skinny.
Love the feel and heft
i wanted to go between more tunings and this does the job perfectly. it sits really well in D# and D standard and i love how it sounds in drop C# but for me i think drop C makes the low string too loose and i might go up to a 54 gauge for that.
brillance absolue
Best sound for the price
I find this sting to have best sound for reasonable price. Ernie Ball offers diverse range of sting options, and I am the fan for years.
6 string
quickly broke, literally after 10-20 hours of play. Thrash metal old school.
Nice Set
Can't say much...
I like to try something different from time to time, so I bought these.
It's a good product. Sound good enough, and all...
But I prefer D'Addarios... I've been using them for years and found nothing better FOR ME.
Of course is a matter of taste, so maybe they're perfect for you.
I recommend them, give them a try.
They're Ernie ball...
What else can I say.. they're Ernie ball!
Good strings but not for me
These are excellent string because they look well-made and sound good. But they just didn't suit my fingers. I put them on a Fender Telecaster and didn't like the feel of the strings under my fingers.
I've always used d'Addarios and Elixirs, maybe why I didn't like the feel of these Ernie Balls. I play everyday and the strings lasted quite some time. They are really inexpensive, so you can get a set and give them a try.
I would not recommend them for blues or surf rock players like me.
great strings for heavy riffing
I love these strings, they're the ultimate balance between being loose enough at the top for nice soloing, and thick enough at the bottom for tight riffage.
The tone is great, these strings sound good and are perfect for a full sound.
quality? meh... I play almost daily on these strings, around half an hour, treating them with fast fret, and I still break them after 4 to 6 weeks. I tried the paradigm equivalent, but they broke after just 2 weeks, so they're not worth the extra price.
I swear by these ernie balls!
Great price / value ratio
I'm sure there are better, fancier or cooler strings, but I've been playing these for 6-7 years and I don't wish to change. Nuff said!
Good Strings for drop tuning
I've always been impressed with Ernie Ball strings and wanted to try something that would work well for Eb and Drop C# tuning. The regular Slinkys are good but as I tuned down I found the got a little flabby. I generally use guitars with a Gibson scale length so this exacerbates the issue. This is where the 2215 set works great. With the heavier low strings there is more tension, so as you tune down you have more tension left in the string. At the same time when you tune to standard E they are not massively heavy.
All around these strings give a good performance. I find that some strings deteriorate quicker and become dull quickly. I have never had this issue with Ernie Ball strings. These strings also have a fantastic shelf life. As the strings are sealed you can buy as many sets as you want and they should stay fresh for years, or maybe forever.
Nice, but not perfect
This is a pretty standard set of strings and you can't go much wrong with it. It's durable, sounds nice, though not as nice as some sets i tried, however that comes down to personal opinion. They're used by many musicians worldwide so they have gained a good reputation, and i think for a good reason. They are made with high quality, packed very nicely and the strings inside the set are flawless.
High Quality versatile strings
These strings are great for players who want to play bassy lines on the lower strings while still having the ability to solo on the higher strings. They have never broken on me, during a bend or hard attack. The sound is crisp and clear for 2 weeks and slowly deteriorates, but still remains at a high quality.
Good
Ernie Balls are my goto strings, I settled on them after trying out maybe 6 brands. I don't worry about other brands as these work fine for me. I like the regular slinky r even super slinky but these skinny top heavy bottoms work well on my super strat when I tune to drop D. If I wipe em down and clean em once in a while they last longer than you would expect.
