Great bottom spankers

Been using these since the 1990’s. They spank serious bottom and deliver screaming highs. Great for rock’n’roll as well as country twang.

Very good strings

Decided to try heavier gauge strings and I'm glad I went with these ones. I tune them in E standard or drop D generally for a chunkier feel than with 10-46 gauge strings. I sometimes downtune to drop B too, but then the strings feel quite loose so you'll probably need a heavier gauge if you use drop B a lot.

Perfect middle ground

Lets Face it, im a singer and a guitarist , i play those riffs but I also solo. Take in account the heavy rock , hard rock , punk , stoner music i play i wanted heavy beefy lows but also acidic highs for soloing, these strings were exactly that so I'd recommend these strings to the guitarist who does it all

Fuller tone

Very nice set of strings, with a fuller

tone at the bottom end but still quite comfortable.

Just what I need

Ive been playing 10-52s ever since my first string change and it amazes me that they give a chunky top feel for heavier riffs with the ability to compliment them with colorful high notes. The packaging is high quality and having each string in their own pocket makes changing strings extremely easy.

Skinny top heavy bottom indeed

I recently tried the Ernie Ball 2215 Skinny Top Heavy Bottom strings, and I have to say, they are fantastic. These strings are specifically designed for those who enjoy playing in Drop D tuning or standard tuning with a slightly chunkier feel. I primarily use them on my Les Paul, and they have exceeded my expectations.

The Skinny Top Heavy Bottom configuration, with gauges ranging from 10 to 52, strikes a perfect balance between lighter strings for faster playing and heavier strings for a fuller tone. The slightly thicker lower strings provide excellent tension for drop tunings, ensuring a tight and well-defined sound. Whether you're riffing power chords or playing intricate lead lines, these strings deliver clarity and punch, allowing for exceptional articulation and note definition.

One aspect I particularly appreciate is the consistent quality of Ernie Ball strings. These strings have proven to be durable and long-lasting, which is important for players like me who tend to play extensively. The solid construction of the strings ensures they can handle bends, vibratos, and heavy playing without sacrificing their tone or breaking easily.

Overall, the Ernie Ball 2215 Skinny Top Heavy Bottom strings are a fantastic choice if you're looking for a versatile set that excels in drop tunings and provides a chonkier feel. They work exceptionally well on Les Paul guitars, delivering a great balance of playability and tonal richness. If you're a fan of 10-gauge strings, I highly recommend giving the 10-52 set a try. You won't be disappointed.

A small step to Tom Delonge's sound

A great choice for guitarists who want a versatile and dynamic sound. The combination of a lighter gauge high E and B string with heavier low strings allows for easier bending and fretting of the higher notes, while still providing a strong and powerful tone on the lower strings. These strings are also durable and reliable, making them suitable for both practice and performance settings. Overall, the Ernie Ball Skinny Top Heavy Bottom guitar strings are a solid choice for guitarists looking for a high-quality set of strings that can handle a variety of playing styles and musical genres.

My favourite strings

Guitar strings are really a matter of preference, so I won’t say these are the best - but they are my personal favourite!
