Favourite set for Drop D

I use this set on rhythm guitar in Drop D and love it. The extra thickness prevents the strings from going sharp if you pluck a bit harder. It might be a bit too heavy gauge for people who like to play a lot of solos... but that's not me :D

Powerful tone!

I've been using 10 - 46 strings for the last ten years, I believe. Didn't think that a slightly higher gauge would make such a difference, but boy it does. Just used them for the first time and couldn't believe how much filth and power my guitars can produce! I think these are going to be my go-to from now on!

Excellent and not the most expensive strings, good quality! I use it at a scale of 25.5, in a Drop C.

Great for D-Standard

I've always been searching a set of strings which will allow me to play in various tunings. This set is perfect for D, but you can tune it to E as well. If you are looking for something thicker than a standard sets (10-46 for instance), this might be really a great choice for you. (I don't use them now, cause I had continued getting lower and thicker :) )

Great set of strings if you downtune and like to bend.

I bought this set of strings for my Harley Benton SC custom II. Like all Ernie Ball strings, these last long and have a great tone to them. I can tune my guitar in standard D, C# and drop B without any problems. Of course I don't mind the looseness and if you are a hard hitting guitar player I suggest you consider thicker gauges for C# and below. Perfect for D standard, drop C , Eb and E standard if you have the cojones!

Best of both worlds

I like this set as it is a good compromise between the full heavy harmonics of the riffs and being able to bend the high strings like you do with regular strings during solo. Best of both worlds in one package.

Solid, Does what you wan't them to do

Awesome for drop tuning (way better than the standard 10 46). A bit hard on standard E but very playable, you'll get used to it.

My go to brand

I use it on a Gretsch streamliner with Bigsby in E standard (24,75"). It feels just right for me!

I would use these on a strat style (25,5") in Drop D.

Great combination for heavy riffs and melodic solos!

Great sounding strings in hard rock/heavy metal band. As the title says, they are a great hybrid set of strings if you are playing riffs and lead on the same guitar. They might throw you off a bit in the beginning if you are only used to standard sets of strings but you quickly get used to them and then you are off to the races!

My Go-To strings

I love the sound of these strings, got used to them, can't have anything else. They loose the sound after 2/3 months depending on your playing, but it's well worth.

My go to set

Always used these as i play a lot in drop tunings and it just seems to work out for me. I love how they feel and sound like. Really brings out a nice metal strum sound out of any guitar i put them on.

Really nice strings

I used these strings on 24,75' scale guitar. I wanted to achieve the tightness of a 25,5' scale. They are very tight! Really good sound, quality and ease on performance. They do their job perfectly!

Perfect For My Needs

I have multiple guitars which I mess around on, strats and tele's I usually string those with standard pink slinky's and they are nice for Eb tuning also.

However when it comes to my Les Paul and PRS Custom 24 I usually keep these in Drop D and sometimes Drop C, when using my standard strings on these they always sounded thin and just didnt feel right, moving to these Skinny Top/Heavy Bottom gives me the right amound of flex in the treble strings and a nice thump from the bass strings. I play a lot of Tool songs in my band and these strings have become the norm for my altered tuning guitars.

Luxurious strings, with a worldwide reputation, for a great price.

Great strings. I use them on my semi-acoustic guitar, they sound juicy. I often take strings from this company and have never had any problems.

Used for D standard tuning on a 25.5" scale guitar.

Like the title says, I use these on a 25.5" scale guitar tuned to D standard (down a whole step on all 6 strings). Sounds and feels great.
