Versatille and comfortable
To me these are the perfect strings for varying tunings, they sound great for both standard E, and drop D, drop C tunings. Has a very rich sound for the high strings and a heavy but clear sound for the lows. To me that is a perfect combination.
Great quality item
Strings with quality that You can expect from them.
No downsides at all.
Good for Mike Ness, good for me
If I am not wrong, Mike Ness uses these. Not why I like them, they just keep the tone very long, and are very durable, and I like the thicker lower strings and thinner higher ones combination.
The perfect middle ground.
Personally, i can't recommend these strings enough.
The bottoms are a perfect gauge for hitting fat rhythms and the tops are just the right gauge for cutting highs and solos. I know string gauge is always down to personal preference but being able to have an affordable mixed set of strings in one pack by one of (if not) the biggest names is very satisfying for myself as both a rhythm and lead player who plays with a lot of attack.
Great for E standard and Drop D
They are my go to string for all of my drop D guitars.
5stars
As it used to be.. ernie ball sound is the best for rock guitar.
Negative: It doesn't holds this excellent sound that long, but it worth it. If you use it in studio you have to change often to have the same "brand new sound".
Best strings out there
What else can I say? Ernie Ball are the best...
Great product for a good price
I've been using Ernie Ball strings for years on different guitars. I recently acquired a Gibson Les Paul Studio and the vendor recommended I try the Heavy Bottom, Slinky top gauge on it. I was not disappointed! The lower strings give a great response when playing riffs while the higher strings are still easy to play. The overall sound is still well balanced. I recommend this product.
Good and solid strings for a Drop D tuning or for Standard E with a more beefy low end. I have been using them for over 3 years for my Gibson LP.
Love em or hate em. Not for the lazy restringers
Always stayed with ernie ball's slinky's the last 18 years. (Out of 29). Love their brilliance and presence, they do ware and corrode quickly, resulting in a more dull sound. Perfect for me, since i play daily and quite intense, resulting in fret and string ware. I restring pretty often (weekly). So a economical, good sounding string is needed. Coated string are not an option to me, as they start to release their coating, resulting in a unpredictable, crappy sound. Chose slinky's for their playing comfort (lotta bending, sliding, hammeron/pulloffs) they have an excellent grip and good slide.
does exactly what it says on the tin
Great strings, great price.
Don't go for cheaper/ off-brand strings. it's worth it to get the real thing.
Great strings, great price
What more can be said about these - we use all Ernie Balls, great gear, great price
awesome strings
great strings perfect for drop d tuning and sound cool with playing rhythm
Nice strings for electric guitars :)
I have them on my les paul in drop C and they don't have any problem with that tuning :)
Best Set for Signle Coil Equipped guitars
This set has been part of my setups since 5 years and there's no way I am gonna change.
The Thicker strings on E,A,D really raise up some solid lows, while the other three ones are well balanced.
Warm sound, good durability and excellent playing.
Try them in your strat wit low action and you'll never take them out.
great strings for dropping
I have used these strings for standard tuning and for drop B. While on standard they are a bit too thick for my taste, for Drop tunings below C they are perfect. The tension on the strings feels as natural as in standard tuning. I will use them again in the future
Really pleased
There isn't a lot to say about the strings. They sound great, have great tuning stability and feel fantastic.
Great for alternate tuning
I chose these strings with the skinny tops and heavy bottoms because I play alot in alternate tuning and the heavy bottoms let be detune the base strings without loosing intonation. The strings are of high quality, something Ernie Ball always have been known for.
I use this set of strings on my Ampeg Guitar. This is a really versatile gauge in my opinion because it can work great with normal tuning and Drop D tuning, and its comfortable for both rhythm and solo playing.
The quality is good, as is always with this brand.
Good Strings
They are what they are. Ernie Ball never let me down!
