Ernie Ball 2215 Reviews
Great bottom spankers
Been using these since the 1990âs. They spank serious bottom and deliver screaming highs. Great for rockânâroll as well as country twang.
Great strings
Works as expected. I have yet to break a string.
Great for drop tunings
Had a blast going 1 step down on these strings, they feel so comfortable and natural and sound great.
Great budget set of strings
This really is a great set of strings and very affordable for more frequent change of strings. Been going with these for quite some time and can say that theyâre good for some lower tunings as well. The bends on higher strings feel very crisp. The durability is very high as well. In five years of active playing I think I have had only one or two occasions of a string breaking. Only thing I wish for is some kind of coating on the strings so it is even more comfortable playing with these strings.
The no-brainer
My favourite set of strings for over a decade. Price to quality ratio makes it an easy choice

Very good strings
Decided to try heavier gauge strings and I'm glad I went with these ones. I tune them in E standard or drop D generally for a chunkier feel than with 10-46 gauge strings. I sometimes downtune to drop B too, but then the strings feel quite loose so you'll probably need a heavier gauge if you use drop B a lot.
Perfect middle ground
Lets Face it, im a singer and a guitarist , i play those riffs but I also solo. Take in account the heavy rock , hard rock , punk , stoner music i play i wanted heavy beefy lows but also acidic highs for soloing, these strings were exactly that so I'd recommend these strings to the guitarist who does it all
Fuller tone
Very nice set of strings, with a fuller
tone at the bottom end but still quite comfortable.
So much better than my old ibanez strings
The strings are sooo good, i had no problem putting them on and they have such a defined and unique sound.
Great for low tunes
Who likes to tune the guitar in lower tunings, these strings are the right thing for that.
Will probably try something else
Tried these on my 24.75 inch guitar for drop D and I’m personally not a huge fan of this combination of string gauges, mainly due to the 42 and the 30 for the A and D strings being much too thick and the 52 (in my opinion) not being thick enough for a low D. The gauges feel a bit mismatched to me but your mileage may vary. I’ll probably try the new Ultra Slinky 10-48 and swap the 48 with a 54 next.
Ok strings
Not my favourite. Sound good but I prefer D'addario.
good strings
i have a couple of vintage gibson es345s, and these are the only strings that work well on them
Great strings
Very good strings for every day.
Awesome for tuning to Eb
Great tension and perfect for dropped tuning. Sweet for rhythm and lead.
Sound great, play great, zero longevity
I've been playing Ernie Ball strings for 30 years. The sound amazing. They literally play themselves. Seriously these are effortless and easy to play. However after 3 days these strings lose their brilliance. They will sound dull and old. After another 2 weeks they will sound completely dead. Great for gigging, recording and James Hetfield who will have his strings changed for him every night. Everyone else, there are better alternatives out there. You know what they are.
Just what I need
Ive been playing 10-52s ever since my first string change and it amazes me that they give a chunky top feel for heavier riffs with the ability to compliment them with colorful high notes. The packaging is high quality and having each string in their own pocket makes changing strings extremely easy.
Classic choice!
I use them for both live and studio playing! I play blues and rock music. am quite satisfied. The 5th and 6th strings are exactly what I need for rhythm guitar.
Best strings for the price
In my opinio this is the best set you can get for the money.
Nice bottom chugs , full tone. Soft top strings for soloing.
Strings last long time. cant remember breaking them, only change after some time.
Mostly used for E sharp drop D# tuning
