Ernie Ball 2215 5-stars Reviews
cool strings
Kirk Hammett uses those strings, so what do you expect?!
they are great, they sound awesome,
i don't know if it's only me, or they broke kinda fast.
Great Strings
Always stuck by ernie ball strings, I've tried D'Dario stings and:
1) I hate the coloured bottoms, they just I've a cheap vibe.
2) The ernie ball strings seem to last longer.
I reccomened this
Rock on with Earnie ball strings!
Discovered these strings some years ago, since that time
I use only Earnie ball for my Fender Jaguar. I tried
alot of different electric guitar strings: Dunlop, Daddario,
Elixir, Fender strings and etc., but Earnie Ball strings
just feels better with my guitar. Balance, tone,
they provide the best. These strings bends very good,
last you long. (aprx. 4 weeks, depends on how often you play)
Sure thing Earnie Ball 10-52 strings are not for low tuned metal, but they are doing great for Rock, Surf, Funk and a little bit of Jazz - E tuning, E flat, Drop D. Hard rock, Alternative, Heavy metal - This is what they are for.
Low bottoms, great response, great sustain, good for soloing. For this price Earnie Ball strings are the best!
So grab them and rock!
Perfect for drop-tuning and those who prefer extra girth on the low strings
The combination of a hybrid gauge string set and Ernie Ball quality is to me a winner.
Perfect balance of tone and speed
I've liked to play thick strings in years, they have a very powerful tone when it comes to power chords and they tend to be very versatile as far as tuning is concerned. The big elephant in the room of course, is that by using a thicker string gauge you inevitably end up struggling more on the high ones. Blending strings from different sets is always a good option, however Ernie Ball Heavy Bottom are a perfect compromise of good tone and playability. The low strings are 52-42-30 gauges, like those you would find on a .11 set for acoustic, whilst the high strings are the same as a .10 for electric.
Overall a very economic solution for those who like to have a thick tone and fast playing.
String Theory
I'm not a guitarist; I bought these for a bandmate. He plays blues, funk, rock, pop, and swears by them.
Great Strings
I use these strings on a HH Tele for a nice fat bottom end while still having light treble strings for lead work. These are the only strings that I now use on this guitar. They have a nice beefy clean sound and work great for tuning down a half step. I would defiantly recommend these strings
Good sounding set
This set sound good as expected, by the brand, but the peculiar thing of it is the thicker bass that, to me, let sound a guitar more balanced.
This could be always good? no, having an heavier bass part is good when playing alone, or in a small band, mostly without keyboard.
But when in a big band, beeing in a wider part of the audio spectrum, isn't always good.
They last long (for istance I haven't problems with sweating hands), and keep the clarity of sound for all their life, obviously is needed the right attention to the cleaning part, for stringd and fretboard.
I really suggest them !
my favourite strings
My favourite strings for years now. I use them for gibsons, es-335, dots, sheraton and lespauls. For fenders you should try 10-46. Every time I buy another brand I'm getting mad and go back to Ernie Balls!
Been using these for ages
Honestly, these are the best strings. I use them for drop C tuning on a 24,75 inch scale and they don't get loose at all. They don't corrode if you treat them how they deserve and they never break.
They sound fantastic. Really accurate, precise, warm sounding.
I've been using these for ages and I have no reason the stop using them. Ernie Ball 2215 for life!
Nice sound
I use the strings on a ESP Viper and i play stoner rock. Very good for open and low tunings. Very organic sound. The string gauge is suitable for heavy playing. Perfect designed for solos and rhythm. I recommend it for heavy genres.
Thick, heavy for Riffs & Suitable to blast a solo ...Great Strings & Great Price... \m/
Great
These strings are great. Not too much to say apart from they do exactly what they're supposed to, play nicely and are fairly durable
Great for open G
Ernie Ball is my usual brand of choice, and I find this set particularly good for open G tuning. They're a tad lighter on the skinny side when compared to the Keith Richards 5-string set (11, 15, 18, 30, 42), but that's perfectly fine if you're normally used to nines when in standard tuning.
Great Quality
I have used Ernie Ball for many years and always found them good sounding, reliable and good value...this set continues this tradition!
DO WHAT THEY PROMISE
EB strings are the standard that all the rest are judged by, tried others but always return .
Love these Strings!!
Top quality tone and durability is guaranteed with Ernie Ball Strings. Always use these on my Les Paul for live performance and practice at home.
Pros: Heavy bottom means you can pound on these with bar chords and they're more durable. This is great for me as I am heavy handed when playing live! Combine this with skinny bottoms for maximum playability for solos and lead licks.
Cons: None in my opinion.
Overall: If you slam on chords and want your bottoms to last but you still play solos and lead stuff and don't want long gigs to feel like torture, these strings are for you!!
Fantastic strings
I bought these strings for my Gibson Les Paul for standard E and drop D tuning...yeah pretty heavy strings for standard tuning...but i just definitely like it! They sound really fat and you can hear the difference to thinner strings, especially in the studio. They sound awesome for the price and I love the fact that you can store those strings and dont't have to worry about oxidation because of the package. So you can just buy a couple of them and always have some in stock.
The only kind of negative aspect that I can find is that it would be cool if those strings would keep the good new-strings sound a little longer.
Whatever, overall I can 100% recommend those strings.
longtime user
I have been using this model on all my guitars since 2010. Really like them a lot.
All my guitars are tuned to standard D tuning (DGCFAD), I have a Stratocaster and 2x Explorers. This set has a really good balance for standard D tuning, the bends are easy but not too easy, the lower strings have a really good low end and feel great.
Using this for a drop D
Like with all EB strings, they last long, are bright and distinctive and feels great on the hand. I'm only using EB strings. I have tried some others, with coating, cobalt, etc. I only get what I want from these! Highly recommended.
