Perfect amp

This amp has everything you would need. The cleans are very good, the chorus is just amazing (would compare it to a small clone just to show how good it is), distortion isn't bad either but I advise on a distortion pedal because this amp gets very very lound easly ( for home use I recomend to let the volume on 2 max 3) and with a distortion pedal you can control how lound the distortion will make the amp. I play mostly grunge (soundgarden and alice in chains) on this thing and sometimes metal and this thing handles it like its nothing. If you don't want a Katana this is your bet, an amazing pedal platform for a decent price.

Very good amp

A great amp for the price, hard to beat this little workhorse.

Options.

Amp offers plenty of options with distortion tones and also effects. The included switch pedal is ideal for quick changes between either of the 2 channels and the built in effects. Utilizing a clean tone on channel 2 in conjunction with my preferred distortion pedal and it’s very easy to get the exact tone I like. Brilliant.

Great amp for a budget price

This amp is definitely worth the comparatively low price that it goes for. The built-in effects are alright, but it exceeds all expectations with the clean channel. Altogether a lovely piece of kit.

Great amp

This thing is loud. Mega loud.

It has many choices of tone and two channels with a switcher so it’s a really versatile amp.

I love the look and it is built very well.

The only issue is that there is no line out to a PA. It’s possible via the headphone Jack but this is really not ideal.

Other than that, get it, but you won’t be able to play much louder than the volume at 2.5 in a normal situation.

Still not sure

After using a Hot Rod Deluxe for years, I got tired of replacing valves/tubes a few times a year and decided to buy a Fender GT200 as I play small pub and hotel gigs and the "valve" sound isn't that important. I was so disappointed with the GT200 I bought the Champion 100 a few months later, thinking I'd use the GT200 for home studio work. I wanted a simple "plug and play" amp, no frills, my pedal board "was" fine. The amp is "okay" and does the job but after 18 months there still is something "missing" and I am back experimenting with the GT200 again. Mixing old pedals with modern digital amps seems to be a real headache and I am now thinking the Line 6 HX Effects might be a simpler solution and maybe I'll retire my trusted pedal board for good?

Awesome amp for beginners/intermediates

I bought this amp waaay back in 2014 and only now am I finding myself in need of a replacement. It's not that anything is wrong with the amp either, I just fancy a change after nearly a decade of using this beast.

This amp is perfect for beginner and intermediate guitarists who need a gigging level amp and for the money, I don't think you can get a better 2x12 combo. I've been gigging this amp regularly since I bought it and have never had any issues. It's had one service in its lifetime to clean up some crackly pots, but that's likely an issue with where it's stored rather than the quality of the electronics themselves.

I exclusively use the clean channel, and it's a great pedal platform with plenty of volume. I do find Channel 2 with the amp simulations is a bit quiet in comparison, some settings jump up and down in volume and it's my personal opinion that the gain channels don't really hold up all that well. But if you've got drive and distortion pedals then you won't have an issue.

It's got an FX Loop which is great for running your delays and reverbs through, and there are some really nice onboard effects too, particularly the reverbs. All in all, this is a fantastic amplifier and well worth your money if you need something with power on a budget.

Great all purpose amp, very very loud

Bought this amp in June as a practice, small gig amp and was shocked at the noise. The double 12" speakers are more than enough to fill the space for even a fairly large gigging space. Once I got used to all of the effects and how they sounded together, I got some very nice tones in both clean and overdrive modes. Takes pedals very well too.

Loud and very clear sound !

I bought this amp to use in a small pub and sometimes in small open air performance. Sound quality is very nice. Amp has 2 speakers handling pedals well. There is a footswitch inside the amp in its back. Overall I am happy and for the price its really good !

Stunning amp

I play a lot of jazz so I need a solid state amp.

I found this amp for the reason it has a jazz level.

pros:

Clean channel gives a very clean sound.

Jazz level on second channel is a blaster in sound , really the sound i was looking for to play classical jazz guitar music.

cons: Distortion is not what you expect, but i don't use it.

It is a good and cheap alternative for more expesnive tube amps.

Cheers

The only thing that is not great about this amp is the distortion tone, for me at least :)

Excellent choice - Fender quality

An excellent choice. Great acoustics and sturdy.

very good

I only wish the amp had some rollers underneath, so as to move it easier, but I can still place them later. The amp is really powerful and of very good quality compared with tube fender amps.

Great value

For the features this amp offers there aren't many options that compare.

Good Powerful Clear AMP

Great and powerful transistor guitar combo.

The clean channel is super bright, very clear and definite, the basic sound is already great. The second channel has different voice options, that resamble some famous amps from low to high gain styles.

It also has some built in digital effects, you can select one effect for the first channel and keep a different effect for the dirty channel.

I personally use some pedals to create my sound on the clean channel; and I use the second channel as a boost, set on a higher volume, with low gain and a different EQ with higher mids in order to be more hearable when soloing.

PRO: great amp: good sound and very practical

CON: doesn't have a line out, but it's loud enough not to need one

Excellent amp!

Had this amp for a year now. To get the only bad and negative thing out of the way - the clean sound has too much bass. I'm not sure does it have to with the speakers or something else but that is it.

On to the good stuff. I use mostly pedals so I put the amp on the second channel and the tweed setting, lower the gain and push the volume. I get the clean channel, awesome sound and a mid control. Fantastic sounds. I played over 60 shows last year with it. I took a beating, it went through extreme cold weather, and extreme hot weather, ferries and salt, rain and wind. Effects are awesome and one of the Metal channel's are pure goodness for anything from blues, through rock to metal, depending on the eq settings and the amount of gain you use.

I used it also standalone. Used the clean channel with the effects and the second channel with effects for crucnh and lead (volume control on the guitar and elevated neck pickup). You can completely gig with it by it self. It is loud enough for any gig.

All in all, I couldn't be happier with the amp. I will get the new Champion 50 XL 'cause it sounds awesome and is more compact and lighter to carry for smaller gigs, and I will probably get a 100W Celestion speaker for the 100W Champion to make it even more lighter and hopefully even more better sounding (refering to the clean channel)

If you need a loud, reliable amp for different types of music and gigs, don't look at anything else. This is it. Hope the review helps.
