Fender Champion 100 5-stars Reviews
Perfect amp
This amp has everything you would need. The cleans are very good, the chorus is just amazing (would compare it to a small clone just to show how good it is), distortion isn't bad either but I advise on a distortion pedal because this amp gets very very lound easly ( for home use I recomend to let the volume on 2 max 3) and with a distortion pedal you can control how lound the distortion will make the amp. I play mostly grunge (soundgarden and alice in chains) on this thing and sometimes metal and this thing handles it like its nothing. If you don't want a Katana this is your bet, an amazing pedal platform for a decent price.
Very good amp
A great amp for the price, hard to beat this little workhorse.
Options.
Amp offers plenty of options with distortion tones and also effects. The included switch pedal is ideal for quick changes between either of the 2 channels and the built in effects. Utilizing a clean tone on channel 2 in conjunction with my preferred distortion pedal and it’s very easy to get the exact tone I like. Brilliant.
Great amp for a budget price
This amp is definitely worth the comparatively low price that it goes for. The built-in effects are alright, but it exceeds all expectations with the clean channel. Altogether a lovely piece of kit.
Très bien
je trouve cet ampli polyvalent et très bien pensé, que du bonheur j'ai arrêté la scène question maladie et je joue à la maison blues, hard rock, rock une incroyable palette de son
Bravo Fender
Awesome amp for beginners/intermediates
I bought this amp waaay back in 2014 and only now am I finding myself in need of a replacement. It's not that anything is wrong with the amp either, I just fancy a change after nearly a decade of using this beast.
This amp is perfect for beginner and intermediate guitarists who need a gigging level amp and for the money, I don't think you can get a better 2x12 combo. I've been gigging this amp regularly since I bought it and have never had any issues. It's had one service in its lifetime to clean up some crackly pots, but that's likely an issue with where it's stored rather than the quality of the electronics themselves.
I exclusively use the clean channel, and it's a great pedal platform with plenty of volume. I do find Channel 2 with the amp simulations is a bit quiet in comparison, some settings jump up and down in volume and it's my personal opinion that the gain channels don't really hold up all that well. But if you've got drive and distortion pedals then you won't have an issue.
It's got an FX Loop which is great for running your delays and reverbs through, and there are some really nice onboard effects too, particularly the reverbs. All in all, this is a fantastic amplifier and well worth your money if you need something with power on a budget.
Loud and very clear sound !
I bought this amp to use in a small pub and sometimes in small open air performance. Sound quality is very nice. Amp has 2 speakers handling pedals well. There is a footswitch inside the amp in its back. Overall I am happy and for the price its really good !
Stunning amp
I play a lot of jazz so I need a solid state amp.
I found this amp for the reason it has a jazz level.
pros:
Clean channel gives a very clean sound.
Jazz level on second channel is a blaster in sound , really the sound i was looking for to play classical jazz guitar music.
cons: Distortion is not what you expect, but i don't use it.
It is a good and cheap alternative for more expesnive tube amps.
Cheers
a classic amp
very nice, easy to use, lightweight amp, i m gonna use it in the rehearsal room (about 32 m2) in my studio. Order came from store in time nice packaged and without any damage, thanx!
Excellent choice - Fender quality
An excellent choice. Great acoustics and sturdy.
very good
I only wish the amp had some rollers underneath, so as to move it easier, but I can still place them later. The amp is really powerful and of very good quality compared with tube fender amps.
Love this amp
I love everything about this amp
Great value
For the features this amp offers there aren't many options that compare.
Good Powerful Clear AMP
Great and powerful transistor guitar combo.
The clean channel is super bright, very clear and definite, the basic sound is already great. The second channel has different voice options, that resamble some famous amps from low to high gain styles.
It also has some built in digital effects, you can select one effect for the first channel and keep a different effect for the dirty channel.
I personally use some pedals to create my sound on the clean channel; and I use the second channel as a boost, set on a higher volume, with low gain and a different EQ with higher mids in order to be more hearable when soloing.
PRO: great amp: good sound and very practical
CON: doesn't have a line out, but it's loud enough not to need one
Excellent amp!
Had this amp for a year now. To get the only bad and negative thing out of the way - the clean sound has too much bass. I'm not sure does it have to with the speakers or something else but that is it.
On to the good stuff. I use mostly pedals so I put the amp on the second channel and the tweed setting, lower the gain and push the volume. I get the clean channel, awesome sound and a mid control. Fantastic sounds. I played over 60 shows last year with it. I took a beating, it went through extreme cold weather, and extreme hot weather, ferries and salt, rain and wind. Effects are awesome and one of the Metal channel's are pure goodness for anything from blues, through rock to metal, depending on the eq settings and the amount of gain you use.
I used it also standalone. Used the clean channel with the effects and the second channel with effects for crucnh and lead (volume control on the guitar and elevated neck pickup). You can completely gig with it by it self. It is loud enough for any gig.
All in all, I couldn't be happier with the amp. I will get the new Champion 50 XL 'cause it sounds awesome and is more compact and lighter to carry for smaller gigs, and I will probably get a 100W Celestion speaker for the 100W Champion to make it even more lighter and hopefully even more better sounding (refering to the clean channel)
If you need a loud, reliable amp for different types of music and gigs, don't look at anything else. This is it. Hope the review helps.
Popular and quality product and good seller
Thank You for quick delivery. Good job. Next step - I planning for Special American Tele
The best!!!
The best amp! I had a Marshall jcm and jvm and Fender 65twin reverb and supersonic22. So I know what I'm talking about.
Fender Champion 100
Recently I bought another Fender Champion 100 (Guitar amp not Bass), having already replaced all my old fender 212 amps since 2014,
These amps have being used in both indoor and outdoor venues and like anything else, you need to have good quality covers which help to prevent any damage to the unit when in transit, also when switching on or off, it is important to check that the volume knobs are always turned down, and always using a circuit breaker. Now getting back to the fx on the champion 100, you get a good accurate clean honest sound and a great variety of fx to cover all aspects of music styles, and so easy to use for the novice as well, and another great factor is how well built and so solid these units are with solid pots and knobs. These amps are loud enough to use in a live gig situation and sound really great when linked to a pa system,
These amps are also great value for money and can also handle a lot of heavy use, I cant praise these amps enough. definitely value for money.
.
Not the best handling.
I play classical guitar most of the time, but for gigs with my band I play my Fender Bullet strat and this is the first combo I bought for gigs and practicing. For me there is a very big problem with this combo - It's really heavy.
This combo doesn't have a big amp, but It really sounds powerfull, because of the two 12" special design speakers. I think that Fender made a great thing with the power quality on this one. It's enough from small rooms to concert halls.
But it's not always about power, and that's why this combo can be loud when it needs to be, yet still offers a soft and beautiful tone when dialed down, making it the ideal practice amp for the discerning musician or amateur gigger.
I'm okay with the look of this combo. It's sort of Classic - Vintage Appeal.
This product is also simple to use and versatile enough for any style of guitar playing, there's a Champion amp that's right for you whether you?re looking for your first practice amp or affordable stage gear. The 100-watt, dual-channel Champion 100 features two 12" speakers, with great amp voices and effects that make it easy to dial up just the right sound?from jazz to country, blues to metal and more.
But going back to the problems - It is really heavy and I think that for young players It may be a problem If they are buying this not just for practicing in one place. I recommend everybody to think about the conditions of using this product before buying.
All in all - this is a proper product in proper situations.
Great amp for the money
I use this amp both for rehearsals and gigs, and for the money you pay for it, it definitely delivers. Being a solid-state, 100 watts, 2x12 amp, I find the quality of the sound to be surprisingly good. It's got two channels, both with built-in digital effects, which you can dial in with the twist of a knob. The first channel emulates Fender Blackface's clean tone, and I must say I am truly impressed by it. The second channel has 16 selectable different amp voicings, ranging from Fender Tweeds, Blackfaces, and even British-voiced and Metal amps. However, I find the overdriven sound of the amp to be a bit boxy, but it's not that big of a deal because I prefer having my "dirt" come from pedals (which BTW the amp takes really well). I have had the Champion 100 for 6 months now, and it shows absolutely no signs of wear: it's robust and well built, and it's also quite light (18.5 kgs) for an amp this size. Overall, I'm very happy with it, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for great tone on a small budget.
