Harley Benton B-450 White Progressive Serie Reviews
SO MUCH BASS FOR THE MONEY!!
Bought it for my beloved for Christmas as we both play guitar and they play bass as well but didn't have one. It needed a slight setup but it's so god damn nice! The frets are great, the sound is beautiful! Love the fact that you can use it active or passive, and it looks so damn good! They were so happy when they received it! Been playing it late into the night â¤ï¸
I'm in love with this bass. It was my first bass and alongside my other 2 it's still my favorite. Very good sound and I love the passive/active knob. When you dont have a battery you just pop the knob and all good!
Amazing
This bass is just brilliant, Iâve had many basses over the years but can honestly say this is my favourite. My 6th Harley Benton and definitely wonât be the last. Top Quality
Powerful guitar!
Very well made, some very slight defects in paint on the back but after I contacted the store they made it right. Sound is great with the active pickups. Lots of different tones can achieved with small adjustments of the pots. The halfway indents are great for adjusting. Changed out the strings for a different brand that I prefer. Did a set up and intonation and that was it, ready to go!
Brilliant bass
Great bit of kit solid bass had a while now had no problems with it easy to set up sounds really good for a low price bass
Starter Bass
I am really happy and satisfied with this bass, the quality is good and the sound is dissent . Make your first steps with this you wont regret it!
Great for the price
So this bass is plenty flexible for my needs and so far has played pretty much as I expected. The pickups have a growl to them and the fretboard feels comfortable for my hands. I honestly don't know if I would use this bass in a live setting but for recording phrases and lines for my own projects this really fits the bill.
my first bass guitar and what a great choice
It looks very classy in white. The neck is ultra comfortable. I expected a bass guitar neck to be really fat but this isn't. I usually play in passive mode and have done dozens of gigs like this - I guess I don't want to worry about batteries dying. I'd buy another Harley Benton in a heartbeat. In fact, my next purchase is likely to be the six string version of this bass.
Probably the best in the pricepoint
My first bass, actually. Then i bought a Warwick.
It's extremely good for the price you pay. Never had a problem with tuning, and the fretboard feels very good. Slapped a pack of coated strings on it and been going strong for years. It's beautiful, the inlays are very cool, the sound from its double humbuckers is perfectly fine, and the fact that it's active/passive means i'm never gonna find myself in an awkward situation. Packs a bite
Now concerning the negatives, i only really have one. The neck and the first pickup don't really leave enough space between them for someone to double pluck. You can play slap, yes, but it's just a bit more limiting for my taste.
All in all though, this is probably the best bass a beginner could buy, and a bass that even someone with more experiance could really enjoy
quality instruments
it was just what i wanted, the finish on it is smooth and very comfortable to use.
the sound is very good, was quite surprised but he sound for how much the product was.
the pearl details on the neck and head are very nice.. little extra thing just for you haha
Great Quality Entry Bass
I bought this to use in a home studio setup and it ticks all the boxes, great quality for a low price. Shipping was longer than expected and was delayed but with the current delays in shipping from Europe can't complain too much. 5/5
Awaiting on return info - complete lemon
Arrived this morning,
Well, today was going to be new bass guitar day...unfortunately it's a complete lemon. Harley Benton B-450, waiting on a response for replacement. has at least 5 issues on unboxing it 😕
*Finish flaw on the back
*Chip in the finish on the front next to pickup
*bridge pickup fitted incorrectly (screws hanging out)
*Black smudges on the natural part of the headstock (looks like bleed from the black finish) which someone has tried to sand and gone through the finish leaving rough wood.
*Strings do not align with the neck, way off centre
Not a great first impression of Harley Benton 😕
Amazing, affordable and accessible active bass
I can't be any happier with this bass. I've played guitar for two years prior to buying this bass and it's such a joy to play.
The neck feels smooth and accessible due to the comfortable cutaways and relatively slim profile and the bass feels comfortable both sitting down and standing up.
The sound of these active pickups surprised me. They are very versatile and provide me with all the sounds i'll need for 99% of my favorite rock and metal songs. Off course there are better sounding basses out there, but definitely not at this pricepoint.
The only reason i'ts not 5/5 for the finish is a buzzing D-string. The nut slot of this string is cut ever so slightly too deep resulting in some fret buzz if i'm attacking the string, mostly when playing metal and punk rock. This is easily solved by fitting a new nut, which are anything but expensive, and i don't see this being a consistent error with these basses. The rest of the bass is finished great for this price.
Overall an amazingly versatile and solid bass, which is accessible enough for beginners and will probably satisfy most experienced players on a budget.
Lots and Lots of Buzz
I got this along with some other HB guitars. I was very impressed by the others but this one. not so much. Tons of string buzz I could not get out. Sound quality is ok but in this price, can't complain too much.
A great choice for the price
I really like this instrument. It has some minor quality problems, but at this price point it's absolutely bang for the buck. I really love the sound and the features of this bass.
Pros:
- good playabilty
- clear sound (for me better than HBZ)
- it has push/pull to switch the electronics to active, or passive
- good finishing (cuts are cons)
- for my taste it can sound absolutely beastly (I use with EXL160)
- selected EQ frequencies (bass, treble) are works perfectly with this setup
- the body resonates very well
- high output signal in active mode
- great passive sound
Cons:
- cuts around the pickups, neckjoint and the covers are uneven
- the bridge has slightly misaligned from the center line, and it's conspicuous above the pickups
- the jack socket is not strong enough. I tightened it many times but after around a year I must have to solder the cables
In overall it's a good budget bass, that sounds and looks good. The hardware has good quality for the price. In the future I plan to buy the 5 string version to. I rated to 5 stars because the price/value.
Very good sound for the price
First of all, I must say that this is my first bass guitar. I am a guitar player and I needed a bass for home recording. I tested this bass in several recording and studio software and I must admit it has a very nice sound and the active electronics really makes a difference.
The shipping took about a week from Germany to Romania and the package arrived in good shape, everything was ok.
The guitar looks beautiful, at first I wanted to order the black version, but after I have seen this white one in reality, I would not trade it for a black one :)
The finish is great, very polished. Sounds great. Only issue i had is that it had a lot of fret buzz right out of the box, altough a few tweaks fixed it, Would definitly recommend it if you wanna try playing a bass guitar or for tracking a home. you can probably gig on it as well but since i don't i do it i can't can't vouch for it in that scenario. Overall, a GREAT bang for the buck deal! The packaging was also great, filled with protective paper!
Definitely a keeper!
Had this bass for 2 weeks now, and have never felt a better quality bass for this money in my life! It plays wonderfully and sounds great.
Too good for the price
The bass is beautiful, it sounds amazing and it is comfortable. The only reason I gave it 4 stars its because it needs a battery to work. Thats quite unpleasant, especially if the battery runs out in the middle of a song. But despite that it has an incredible sound, and it really is beautiful.
Best inexpensive bass I have ever played.
Smooth Frets, Premium feel and amazing playing for under ¤150? What more could you ever want?
This bass is a must have for any up and coming musician to add Authentic bass sounds to any of their tracks.
