Great for bass

I use this with a bass at a jam night where there is no bass amp so plug straight into PA system. It sounds great with a nice variety of options in the sound shaping.

nice crunch/ lead pedal

it’s not a distortion , but it’s very universal for rock/grunge music

heavy sound

It gets the heavy sound of Marshall types. Nice and rough. I prefer it at the beginning of the chain to toneshape my amp. At the end I dont like it that much, unless direct recording off course. BUT of the three Truetones I got, this one was for my use the less usefull. Pretty good sound on its own. But it goes shrill very fast in combination with dirt. More suited for direct recording or on its own.

A full amp in a box. Great variation in sounds but difficult to switch between sounds easily. Small tweaks make big sound changes and you are spoiled by the amount of choice. You might need 2 or 3 of these to switch between they're that useful. Can't fault it at the price.

Didn't expect it to be great!

I said what the hell for the price range and bought this pedal. Didn't expect it to turn out awesome! Really gives you Marshall amp sound at a low price. Make sure to place it at the end of your pedalboard.

does the brit od sound

has low mid high settings, drive volume and voice, you can get quite few tones out of this thing even pretty chuggy metal stuff if you crankit. power socket seeems to be too deep tho and often my power cable pops out and kills the whole signal chain which is not fun, at laest its most of the time that pedal so its a quick fix but thats really not something that should hapen, when i got pedal i actually used it for a long time with 9v batteries because i thought that the power input was

broken but you just have jam it really deep there, i have same problem with the flanger pedal, its not the biggerst deal but really not some that should be overlooked in quality control, and yes i could have returned both of them but im just too lazy to return 25e pedal. its nice pedal tho, but if you need an od and dont need LMH just get tc electronic Cinders Overdrive or some klon klone imo.

Nice Marshall amp overdrive simulation.

I really don't do much distortion these days, but I thought I would try this pedal just to hear how it sounds. It sounds like the real thing. I'm inspired to play some 60s, 70s, 80, rock again. Not a bad clean sound either. Very good fit for a pedalboard. Thank you for quick delivery.

Nothing different

I already have the American pedal albeit Joyo. This British pedal's sound can be easily replicated by the American. There is no point to having both. The pots just need to be adjusted differently to get the same sound! I feel slightly conned. However, I do have a use with a TRS stereo guitar I have modded, to DI into the stereo audio interface, one pedal on each channel. Otherwise useless.

Marshall tone for 30 something euros

This little petal petal is so good, I would buy it for double it's prize and it would still be value for money! very good build quality. I use my HB vintage overdrive to drive this and straight to the clean channel of my THR5. Add some reverb and the British cab simulation from my Amp and I get that unmistakable Marshall tone!! I don't think I can do better in this price range!

Really good!!!

There is really no reason not to get this pedal. It's just a very well made overdrive pedal, that does what you'd expect an overdrive to do. Exceptional value for money!

Great pedal, pity UK is out of the EU.

A WORD OF CAUTION FOR UK BUYERS BEFORE I REVIEW THIS PEDAL!

The price you see is NOT the price you pay. There are extra charges and you won't have a clue what they are until after the pedal or other gear ships. I was charged more than 20% VAT and had a £11.50 handling charge added that I knew nothing about, BE WARNED.

Sounds fantastic into the front of a Grandmeister 36, really lively and adjustable, still experimenting but what a lot of tone and build quality for the money.

My only reservation is where the power socket is on the side, for me it would have been better for the power to be in the Boss position at the front.

You get what you pay for

No miracles here, you get what you pay for. OK to use in a cheap rig, no more.

I found the sound harsh and unpleasant, no matter how much time spent fiddling with the knobs. I regret the fact I was influenced by good reviews on YouTube.

A fun surprise

Honestly I do not believe there are any bass pedals. They do a job and have a sound.

This may not be something you would clear space on your board for but it does a great job as a bubbly crunch.

For the price you will get your money’s worth and if used for layering could be a great little weapon when tracking. Definitely a fun little surprise to add to your basket.

Amazing value

This thing is really my childhood in a box.

You can get very familiar sound with minimal effort. Perfect for ampless setups, since it works perfectly even directly into an interface or monitors.

The EQ is also very nice and it has a huge range

100% satisfied with the purchase. I might even buy a second one to use with an ABY switch as a second channel

very good value as usual from HB range

Nice Mar**** stack sound Pedal very easy to use and control

great preamp/dirt pedal

I bought this as a preamp pedal into a dead clean channel and for direct recording and this did the trick perfectly. You can get from early jtm sounds up to modern hot rodded marshall tones

Love this!

For the price too you can't go wrong.

Marshall tones on a budget

This pedal does a nice variety of sounds ranging from warm and clean JTM-45 tones, to more punchy 1959 plexi stuff, and all the way up to JCM800 mid-range growl. It's got a decent gain range.

It works OK as an overdrive into a clean amp with a flat EQ, but I would not use this into an amp that already has got a lot of character. It works even better as a pre-amp into the effects loop return of a tube amp.

You can also use this pedal directly into an audio interface for recording or mixing desk and PA for performing, but I found the analog cab simulation on it rather weak. Add a good speaker cabinet impulse response after this pedal and you get a great authentic Marshall tone without even the need for an actual amp.

Harley Benton British TrueTone

I use this pedal at home, I am a hobbyist guitarist and play mainly at home and occasionally with friends.

I love this pedal! it is compact yet gives antiquate access to all the control knobs on the face of the pedal. However, I would prefer the AC jack to be in the rear of the pedal. Who says pink ain't rock and roll!?!

Pros: The price is untouchable! The construction and quality of the pedal for this price is unparalleled. Non-skid backing surface with a recessed access to the battery compartment is very nice for those without a pedal board. The accuracy on the level and tone knobs is very responsive. It is very nice to be able to adjust the controls without needing to crank the knobs. This gives the pedal a feel of ownership and you can adjust the tone without needing to continuously adjust your amp.

Cons: I would like to see the AC adapter location in the back of the pedal. This would give those using a pedal board and slim jack patch cables the ability to place the next pedal in the chain as close as possible to the pedal on the right hand side. Current location takes up additional room and makes a player like me have OCD.

Pedal sounds: You can dial up a laundry list of classic guitar tones with this pedal. I run it through a fender mustang and it considerably helps the Mars tones that this amp has. I am a classic rock fan and can use this to dial in AC/DC, Van Halen, ZZ top, Scorpions, the list goes on. I like how the drive doesn't push the tones over the edge to where everything is breaking up. Some pedals distort the sound too much and you loose the top end range of the pedal. It is not trying too hard to sound like any other "similar" pedal. I used to be "that guy" who would only play "those brands" of pedals but have been completely converted with this pedal and others that I have purchased and heard from Harley Benton.
