Harley Benton Dynamic Compressor 4-stars Reviews
A very helpful Pedal
This Pedal is a basic pedal, however for someone who is a beginner with can open up a lot of future opportunities with the tones. The Attack knob on the pedal, if cranked up, can give a harsher pick to string ratio. The Sustain knob is quite a catch in this one. If you enjoy cleans, cranking up a little the sustain can help clean up a bit those ringing notes. When it comes to Gain utilities, this pedal while good lacks, a bit as the sustain can either be overwhelming or underwhelming. Sound wise, this pedal definitely will effect the quality of any licks and riff, and can teach a less experienced musician regarding the ins and outs of analogue compression.Given that the pedal itself, is made of a sturdy material, I believe this may hinder a bit the actual sounds coming from an amp. For Its' Value its'definitely worth purchasing as an experimental pedal. Value for money and the build is very aesthetically pleasing.
My First comp
I don't have experience with those things but I started sounding a lot better and my slapping actually makes sense.
Compared to others compressors this one is quite good.
Really bang for the buck. :-)
Great budget compressor
good build quality, smooths out input signal nicely, sustain forever, no noise, good bypass.
Does exactly what it should do.
Nothing supernatural for a little money
I use the pedal to enrich the clean sound on the guitar. The pedal can be used as a booster, so there is a Level control. Personally, I almost didn't hear the impact on the sound of the Attack handle. But the Sustain regulator doesn't work badly. The build is normal. When switching, there are no extraneous sounds.
Amazing, and simple
My first compressor pedal, and I'm not dissapointed.
It's very simple to use, knobs are responsive, build quality is great as always with this brand, it's not noisy, and no popping sound when engaging.
I mainly use it with guitars equipped with both humbucker and single coils. It makes the switching between positions more even, without loss in volume, even when splitting a humbucker. It's simple and It works like a charm, what's not to like?
It's OK
It's a compressor. It's OK. I'm not blown away by it, but not disappointed either. Good for the money, but maybe just lacking something.
Harsh round the edges
good little compressor but it`s sweet spot is at pre 11o`clock anything above that it starts painting a picture in a frame really..
Good basic compressor
This pedal gives you everything you need from a basic compressor: less dynamic range, tighter response, more sustain and more control over your pick attacks. It does all these things well, It is completely silent and is also built very well.
This is especially true for single coils - for humbuckers I prefer a compressor with a bit more subtlety and maybe also a tone knob, but this already implies a higher price range.
For its price the Harley Benton Dynamic Compressor is an excellent pedal. If all you need is a bit more of an even sound, this compressor will give you exactly that for a ridiculously cheap price.
Excellent Compressor Pedal (for the Price)
Very transparent compressor pedal, with just enough adjustment possibilities and very low on noise. I don't think there is any better even for the twice the price of this pedal.
Very Good Pedal
Just purchased this pedal...and I use it a lot.
It provides good sustain and matches well with overdrive...
The pedal looks very solid on its enclosure.
Very useful..
I would encourage anyone to have one like this.

Decent / Great for the price
I'm using this between my Mexi Strat and my Vox Lil' Night Train amp. It's a very "bright" combination, and this compressor helps attenuate this a bit. The effect is very subtle, you'll have to play around with the controls a bit and see how it affects the sound to get an idea of what it really does. Also works great as a boost for when you need that extra oomph.
+ Sturdy build
+ True bypass
+ Versatile (can be used as a boost)
+/- Subtle, transparent compression (Some might favour this, others might want compression that is a bit more "coloured", depends on the individual preferences)
Minor cons:
- Mediocre switch (for comparison, my TC Electronic Ditto looper has much smoother action and very quiet "click" when stepping on it)
- I've seen prettier pedals :)
Does a great job for the price, though maybe not the best introduction to the realm of compression for beginners. Overall, a good product for a bedroom player as myself.
Great value for money
I've never used a compressor before, so I wasn't quite sure what to expect. What I was *after* was a pedal that would help sustain - I know this isn't exactly the ticket, but the rather good sustain pedal I home-brewed once upon a time has long since been lost, along with the circuit diagram :-(
This pedal *does* help sustain - and does so much more, all in a very subtle and unobtrusive way - there are no sudden 'jumps' in sound effect - although it does clip effectively, should you want that. Attack adjusts the clipping factor, Sustain does a little bit of that and Level gives the signal a boost.
It's sort of like a signal booster with a bell and whistle - nice little pedal and great for the price. Put it at the start of your chain....
I like it!
This does not bear a fancy name/brand on its face but I find its sound to be very close to many more expensive options on the market. I like it, I would maybe not use the scorpion theme but who cares. :)
nice sound
good sound for the value.
only thing is if you want to stick it to your pedalboard you have to tear off the kind of a rubber foam under the pedal.
this a great little pedal, so easy to use and the sound is amazing for the price! the versatility is a bit limited due to only having three controls but all in all i would highly recommend this pedal
good value.
For the very low price this is a really useful compressor pedal. Great build quality. I don't use compression a lot so spending heaps on an expensive unit would be a waste. This does the job at a great price.
Amazingly good at this price point.
This is in essence Harley Benton's take on the MXR Dyna-Comp. For a first compressor it does a very good job, but don't expect it to rival units many times the money. It's a bit too coloured and at the point it starts compressing it can be a bit blunt in what it does.
Bought this for my father and he couldn't be happier. It's his first ever compressor and he badly needed one without knowing it. And isn't that rather common with compressors: you don't really know one until you have one?
Harley Benton Dynamic Compressor
Like it,it's super cheap, good constuction durable body.I use it with a reverb pedal it acts as a boost and counter acts the reverbs tendency to drop in volume and gives a slighty metalic colour and crispness to the sound.
Harley Benton Dynamic Compressor
Rebadged JoYo pedal. Can't beat it at the price, no battery though. Not used to compressors so don't really have a comparison. Good range of compression and is quite.
