Harley Benton PB-20 BK Standard Series 5-stars Reviews
Solid Instrument for the Price
I had this instrument for a couple of years as a temporary substitution. This bass guitar needed some setting up upon arrival, and I'm talking about dealing with the sharp fret ends and rubbing some oil into the fretboard, as it was quite dry. But once this was done, the bass became playable, and I had an awesome time playing it. Recently, I've given it away, but frankly, I could've kept it as there was nothing wrong with it. So, if you want to have a bass for a fraction of the price and are willing to learn basic techniques of guitar maintenance, then this bass is going to cut it.
Amazing for it's price
Great bass for it's money! Great sound, quality and general feel. Absolute must if you can't afford a high-end instrument.
crazy value for money, perfect finishing, very nice fretboard, unbeatable at that price.
Better than you'd expect
For this price cant be beat.
Good sound for the price. can't ask for much more
First Electric Bass
This is my first ever bass. Many years after it's still like brand new (even the strings). Every time someone is interested in learning bass and wonders what to get I show them this one. It's super good quality for super low price. #1 choice for new students :)
Great for it's price
Everything you could ask for for a cheap price in a great quality
Exceptional quality for the price. I highly recommend this bass.
Great beginners bass
Bought for my daughter to learn on, she was really happy with it. It was a good size and weight for her (she is 15). Well made over all, nothing to complain about. Only thing was there was a slight string slap on E string, but that could have been her playing or need of adjustment. She was very pleased with it to learn on for the price. Cant fault it for the level she was at.
Great Beginner Bass Guitar
I've just got it and i've fallen in love with it
My very first bass ever
nothing to say but, this the best and fastest company I've ever ordered with.
great deal
very dope string quality, the knobs are great, overall just a great deal for this high quality of an instrument,
Great First Bass
Bought this as I decided quite randomly to give bass a try so picked this up as a beginner and was very happy with it. Great bass to start out on, didn't require much set up and was playable on arrival.
My only negative is that it is quite top heavy, but that could be eliminated with a better strap than I'm using.
Overall a great bass to start learning on, sounds great so probably worth getting if you want a low cost P bass and gives me a good impression of the overall quality of Harley Benton products
Great to play, brilliant value.
First off it looks fantastic. Sounds as good as any bass I have played and can't quite believe the price I got it for.
Great instrument for it's price
It is my first bass, just wanted to try out bass after several years of guitar playing. Saw many reviews about Harley Benton instruments, for a very affordable price it is a really great deal.
Came packed in two boxes: one for guitar itself, and second one (bigger) in which box with guitar was placed. Nothing was damaged.
Stock strings is ok, did not tried to change them at this moment.
Great for beginners
I bought this bass just out of curiosity and to teach myself how to play. I already know how to play the guitar and figured out I'd start this new adventure.
The bass surpassed my expectations, especially for its price. It feels well built, the sound is good and it's, overall, pretty great. My only qualm would be with the "tone" control, which is not of the highest quality.
I would recommend it to any beginner or casual player.
Gets the job done
Nice addition to the studio. I needed a bass that didn't break the bank and this one is amazing for its price. 20 years ago cheap guitars/basses were not so great and they were even pricier but this one has a great price to value ratio. Can recommend as a beginner bass guitar.
Good bass
Good fun to play. Kids love it too
great bass for the price.
Okay quality is the best quality at this pricing.
Good: PRICE, build quality, Durability, Sound quality, Weight and weight balance, PRICE!!
Great for rock and band music.
Bad: cheap P bass can never bring sophisticated bass sound, therefore not ideal for a bass solo music.
It needs some setup work out of the box.
Over 15 years of bass playing life and experiencing almost every known basses except ridiculous looking ones taught me this; there are good cheap instruments.
Cheap things give you an instant doubt. It's bad. It's never durable. It never serves the serious purpose. This bass isn't one of them disappointments.
This is well built under the right amount of quality control. P bass always gives you its inherent simplicity that allows(or forces) you to concentrate on the music, so all you need is the bass itself and its toughness as a structure. This Harley Benton bass will give you what you expect from a simple P bass.
If you expect a miracle work, you will OBVIOUSLY be disappointed. Especially for pickups, since they are the same as any microphones that can be made good or bad by using all kinds of different material and in different configuration, which requires investment to come to the reality, which a cheap instrument can't get. This instrument gives an OKAY P BASS sound. It's not horrible. But it's not great either. It's acceptable. For the price, THIS SOUNDS GREAT.
One tricky thing about any cheap instrument is the initial setup. Just like any cheap instrument, this doesn't come with an almost perfect setup. Mine did have some buggery sharp fret edges that needs sanding down, just like the other buyers or this same instrument from here. and you will likely to need the trussrod adjustment, which is a relatively simple task, and the bridge saddle height adjustment, which can be time consuming. trossrod wrench and the bridge saddle wrench come with the instrument, so I just set up the instrument to the string height to the point it won't give me any annoying string buzz.
Remember. It's a P bass with a cheap pickup. You should know it will give hum noise. If you are an experienced musician, you know you can't complain about this not being suitable for playing a bass solo song. You are not paying a Fodera money. not even a Musicman bass money.
Okay quality is the best quality at this pricing.
very good bass for the price it costs
i bought this bass a while ago. sounds good, looks good, enough said.
