Harley Benton JB-75 SB Vintage Series Reviews
It's alright
Good quality for the price, a bit too heavy.
String Rattle
I took the plunge after buying the PJ BASS (TI Flats Added, Great). It came well packaged .The bass had no blemishes ,no dinks ,nothing to fault at all .I did all the checks ,neck relief ,fret levels etc ,and i still got rattle from the strings, i had to higher the action to just below 3mm at 12th fret to play it.It is great bass though ,everything feels smooth ,mine was a three piece body , only noticeable on the lower bout .Weight wise from what ive read is about 9.7 pounds.£145 quid at time of posting ,it's a no brainer.I never had this option 35 years ago when i started ,wish i had had ,iv'e been through some right catologue howlers
Great guitar
Bought this bass as i had previously bought a harley benton guitar and the quality of it is great, so i was hoping it would be of similar quality and it was and i was again quite impressed by how good it looked and feeled for the price. Would 100% precent recommend it.
Amazing price! Amazing quality! Amazing sound!
This is a beautiful instrument. The craftsmanship is outstanding as well.
My only complaint is the weight. It is very HEAVY. But having said that, I would not hesitate to buy another bass guitar. In fact, I already did and it arrives tomorrow. Thanks again for the wondeful & affordable instruments.

Unbelievable
I'm floored that I was able to find a bass of this quality for the price...Fender doesn't have anything on Harley Benton....
Gets gigged frequently, great bass, superb value!
It´s like having the original!
Great instrument with a flawless finish and great sound. The only complaint I have is the weight. A couple of kilos lighter would make this the best Jazz bass on the market
Quality Bass Guitar
Beautifully crafted bass. You can see and feel the quality of this instrument, and the Roswell pickups are powerful and punchy. The only thing that is a downside -for me- is the weight of the instrument, i find it pretty heavy but don't let this keep you from getting this awesome bass. A good wide strap will definitely help you
Amazing Bass!
Great tone, great neck, great look. Even the setup came with very good settings--with low action and a bit of fret growl--as I like it!
My only complaints are the pick guard screws were put in at a crooked angle. And there is a strong 60hz buzz when using only the bridge pickup. I think that is a standard issue even with fenders or any single coil pickup...so not really that bad.
I have become an HB fan!
Absolutely Astounding
I ordered on a notion that I can do most any work on cheap instruments and fall in love. This thing showed up to the US in a week and I sh*t a chicken when I opened it. Everything. Is spot on. The tuners are nice, the headstock is shaped to where you can reshape for that "classic" look. The nut is cut proper, the frets are nice, level and finished. The neck needed no adjustment at all. It has a satin finish which doesn't get sticky. The fretboard inlays are hard to believe they're so nice. The finish is just fine. The pick guard and screws are fit well. The control cover has the shipping plastic stuck under the controls so I had to remove the knobs and remove the nuts holding the jack and pot to removed the plastic but that showed that it has nice full size pots, good wiring and a good jack. The bridged has brass saddles that WAS intonated from the factory. I did drop the action because I just prefer a little rattle. Then I plugged it in. I just DI to the board with maybe a little chorus and I was blown right away. Never been a fan of D'Addario strings but these are very impressive and more than worthy of a couple months. I went with the usual Dunlop Straplocks so I was happy to find myself screwing into a real slab of wood vs. basswood or something cheap. Most people will complain and note that it's heavy. Yes it's heavy. It's very heavy. But that's what it means to be a kick a** bass. I've had mine a month or so and every time I pick it up Im delighted and still hard to believe I got this instrument from a legit merchant and it's not stolen or something. It's really that nice of a bass. Because of its quality I bought my daughter one of the standard series in red. It ALSO was fantastic for $160 so now I'm convinced and just now ordered the Olympic White 62. I can't say enough about these Harley Benton basses. They are without question on par with ANY other Jazz Bass on the market. I don't care if it's top of the Fender line, (A good Squire is hard to beat), or even a custom made boutique job, this Bass will most definitely hold it own.
It does the job
Nothing to compain really. Very good for beginners and for guitarist who want to record bass lines at home.
IT DOESN'T GET ANY BETTER!
At first glance when I received mine I thought Fender Custom shop. Mine was flawless in every respect down the the brand of strings I use. I stretched the strings that were on it and went through the setup. It is the first bass I have ever had including Fender American's that I had to do nothing. Everything from string height to the nut was spot on. I thought I might have to change the pickups and wiring harness but NO. This bass sounds wonderful as is. Frets and neck are perfect and extremely comfortable to play. The only negative I have is that this bass is heavy. Obviously not a light Ash but I think that heaviness lends to the resonance of this bass. You cannot go wrong here. From fit to finish, from sound to playability you cannot do better with a Fender American at 9X this price. I don't know how they do this but I am glad they do!
Passive Jazz on steroids
Excellent fit and finish. Amazing sound at any cost. Just buy it and you will be as happy as us others. Why buy anything else when this is so inexpensive and sounds so good.
Great for beginners
Hello beginner, fellow beginner speaking. If you want a cheap, good looking, good sounding and well built guitar, this is your guy. It's obviously not a Fender guitar but for what it costs it's really good in terms of quality, if you're just getting into Bass then this (or any of the other variants of Harley Benton guitars) is a really good choice.
My favorite bass!
Love this bass! Plays great, sounds great! Only complaint is it’s a little on the heavy side, but otherwise, what more could you ask for
Cannot believe the quality for the price!
This bass is phenomenal in every way and feels like it should be worth much more. I love it and now the other much more expensive guitars stay in their case!
Great bass for money
Good quality pickups are ok but not amazing but for the money worth every penny
Harley Benton JB-75 SB Vintage Series Electric Bass
yes a great Bass Guitar decent sound looks great wont disappoint
Very nice!
What can I say?
The finish is flawless, and after lowering the strings a little (Just my taste) and a small correction of intonation I could not be happier.
I can get the sounds I want, and it works well in my "home-studio".
If you want a much better instrument, you need to spend a lot more $ !!!
