Harley Benton Valuestrings EL 10-46 3-stars Reviews
not a good fit
unfortunately these did not work on my Gretsch as the holes on the ball end were not big enough to slide into the Bigsby bridge. I have used these in the past when i had a strat and they worked really well for me. so it was a bit of a shame i had to buy a more expensive set.
Not for me.
Bought for for replacement, during gig, not much use for me.
Passable, Just.
I got these and while they functioned, they were qt the bottom of the scale for what I consider acceptable. They took a lot of time to stretch in. I would use these for strings to do setup work on a guitar where the strings would be getting binned anyway. Say doing a neck, fret level, shim and the strings are going to be on and off a few times. They are functional. But not wonderful.
Good for the price
Sometimes I might install new machine heads on a guitar, or do some pickup work, then re-string and take the guitar to my local guitar tech for a fret dress/setup etc. I don't like to waste a set of Ernie Ball's or D'Addario's, since he usually replaces the strings. These are perfect for that situation. I can string up with these and it hasn't cost as much as a more higher end set.
Other than that, they'll get you by in a pinch, but they won't hold tuning or stay as fresh as the higher end strings.
Not bad at all
I put them on my Harley Benton TE-90 and they work fine. Maybe they lose brightness sooner than expected, but they're not bad quality at all.
tuning
Even with GOTOHS and pro setup these strings are not really good enough to stay in tune.
I will stump up for daddario in future.
for beginer
only price is good...
Its a replacement string
it's just a regular string only... its better if they replace the same as the guitar has Ddario string already.
Ok product, but not longlasting
I recently put those on my guitar and they broke a month after.
Sound is okay in my opinion. Just need to replace them regulary.
Because the price is amazingly low, you can put on new set before every gig without spending a fortune. Cheap new set is better than old expensive one. :)
OK strings
Good value for money. I like these and will buy again. 'd Addarios are better but also 4x the price. Buy them and try them.
Normal strings!
This is string normal.
Good price
Good strings for the price
Cost pays off
These strings remind me of the string daddario of a cheap series. At me they come into disrepair after 1 - 2 weeks of playing them for 2 three hour rehearsals a week. Aversion when touch does not cause. Not for the studio, of course, but with them it is possible to live and enjoy the game.
Ok strings for the price
They?re cheap and do the job. Better than my harley Benton strings
Good for the price.
Sound and playability are great. All frequencies ring out perfectly and they feel like way more expensive strings. However, I must mention that I've notice I've been getting more cuts on my fingers than usual on my fingers while using these strings. I practice alot, but I haven't had any problems with bleeding and cutting myself while playing guitar, but when I play these strings for more than 3 hours straight I have to apply bandages to stop the bleeding..
Spares, cheap
These are great for me as spare strings (especially the high e) as well as I usually put these on the guitars that I rarely use and just hanging on the wall.
The strings are fine for the price. However, despite the set is completely new, strings look like being used for a week: not as bright, the surface is oxidized and, as a result, not as smooth, as I would like to.
value for money
Good string as long as you are ''light-fingered''. Responses pretty good at normal playing. Wont hold tuning at hard bends or heavy tremolo use. Even so, it remains ideal for studying purposes and its cheap !!!!!
Ideal for beginners
I bought this set to replace on a friend's beginner guitar and teach him how to change strings.
Sound-wise, I heard much better from different brands of strings, but for the price these are very good. Definitely recommend them as an emergency kit during gigs when you break one string and need a replacement just for that moment when you don't have time for a full string change.
Pros:
- Very cheap and good for the price
Cons:
- I had better when using top brands in terms of durability and sound, but for the price you cannot say they are not worth it... even if it's just to bang and break during practice sessions
Very good value
I've used these for several months now and to be fair they are very good value. I've found then to be not as bright (when brand new) as Gibson or Addario strings and they tarnish a little quicker but frankly for the
price I've no complaints whatsoever. They ar ewell packages and arrived with no kinks or manufacturing flaws whatsoever.
I'm mostly a home player and really only change strings on my guitars every 6 months. These value string shave allowed me to experiment with different gauges without burning a hole in my pocket.
Additionally they have served me well as 'stand-by' strings just to have handy in the gig bag.
Recommended for casual players.
