Wow - how can they do it for this price?

I am not a huge fan of bronze strings, they often sound tinny and cheap to my ears. I was more than pleasantly surprised at how nice these sound. They do have some of that "new string zing" but after a couple of days of playing, mellow out into a nice solid tone.

These sound and feel similar to the Martin bronze strings. I put them on my all laminate cheap guitar that I take out to the park or beach and sounded as good as anything else I have tried. Since that guitar is exposed to the elements more than my other ones, it makes sense to buy cheaper strings that can be changed often. I don't want to spend £13 on Elixirs, I can't see them lasting 13 times longer than these HB strings.

I would like to see these strings made in a 12-54 gauge, or in phosphor bronze. I also would like to see them vacuum packed as I don't know how long they will last in the packets they came in. Perhaps it can't be done at this price point.

Definitely worth a try, if you don't like them, you've hardly spend anything on them in the first place.

good quality donor strings

I buy these strings when I need a cheap pair of strings that I can rely on for a guitar that is only doing a few pub gigs or a recording session. there are times when putting on more expensive strings such as elixir really isn't worth the effort, however these are perfectly good for a few gigs, and you''ll suffer o tone loss at all.

Good strings

Good backup strings.

Soooo cheap but decent!!!!

I've tried tonnes of different strings over the years: Rotosound, Ernie Ball, Fender Bullets, Dean Markley and many more but my favourite are D'Addarios (10-46 gauge), I've used them for over 10 years for gigs but, while they aren't expensive, I've been looking for a cheaper alternative for rehearsals and playing in the house.

I thought I'd give these Harley Benton ones a try, as they are under 1 GBP a pack I wasn't expecting anything decent but I am pleasantly surprised - nicely packaged, no corrosion on the strings and no loose metal round the ball ends to stick in your hand or damage your guitar (which you often find on cheap strings). They sound good too, not as good as D'Addarios but they're a quarter of the price!

All in all - very impressed!

Very happy with these strings!

I wasn't expecting much for strings priced at under £1. I took a chance exactly because they were so cheap - I figured I wouldn't be gutted if I had wasted a pound. I bought a few packs - I thought they might be ok for busking if nothing else.

I was extremely pleased to find that not only are these string not a waste of money, but they are quite nice strings. They aren't as nice as say, Newtone or DR Rare, but they are probably on a par with the Martin PB.

I put them on my busking guitar (Japanese 70's spruce top and lam RW back and sides) and was so pleased, I also put them on my Martin D28. I probably will keep using Newtone on the D28 as they suit it so well, but I was not disappointed with the sound or feel of these strings. I will keep a couple of packs of these as spare strings for the D28 and also keep using them on the busking guitar. If money gets tighter, I will have no problem using these on the Martin full time.

Well worth a try!!!

Great value guitar strings

These strings are exceptionally cheap, for the price they do not disappoint.

They are terrific back-up strings to use if any strings happen to snap.

They are also terrific to set up on your guitar for practice strings, for the price you cannot go wrong.

They surprisingly have a good sound and they do seem to last a decent amount of time before needing changed.

Definitely beats having to pay full price for a set of strings to practice on.

These are especially helpful in my position due to the fact I have many guitars and purchasing strings for them all is usually costly.

graet

if you are looking for a cheap alternative for paying what you would usually for your strings, you've found it. the sound is great, and they feel great. i had taken a chance on these if I'm honest, and could not be happier, i will continue to buy these strings.

Good!

I use these strings on my electro acoustic and I really like them, they sound nice and crisp when they are fresh out the packet and they feel very nice.

I bought a set to try them out when I was a little short on cash, I previously used D'Adarrio strings but to me these strings sound just as good to me.

The even look a little different to other strings i've used but not by much, they just look a little darker.

My go to string seem to be Harley Benton again!

Good for no cost

This is awesome. How theise can be this cheap is a mystery. I Bought 10 packets which I have been using for a party-guitar. Overall a good sound for the price of course.

If you just need some strings for a shitty guitar that you dont care about. This is what you should get!

For the price they are okay

I would never record with these strings on, but for doing gigs and such these are definitely good for spare strings.

The only main feature about these strings are the price. Compared to any other major company, these strings sound dull, almost as if they have been played on for a few months already. But the price is hugely inexpensive, so how could you complain about that?

Excellent low budget strings

These strings are just as good (or better) as some of other name brands that cost four or five times as much. How can I justify that? Well, I have tried most of the costlier brands and found that it is useless to spend endless euros or pounds in search of "the" tone. What matters more is the strenght/thickness of the strings and how often you change them. The 012 Valuestringt set is a good all-rounder for most acoustics, not too thin, not too thick either.

I've used these on my F-brand acoustic dreadnought where the Valuestrings sounded as good as some previous bronze strings. On my Little M (a very small bodied acoustic) they sound OK as well, but there I usually use 013s (to make it sound a bit bigger).

All in all, these are so inexpensive that it does not hurt to buy severeal sets at once and this means you can also change all the strings when one breaks. No more mismatched sets!

Cheap and practical

there is nothing better than having a couple of emergency spares in your bag, and those strings sit for that purpose perfectly .. you can have a couple of them for the price of one high-end strings .. and surprisingly, they can really compete .. highly recommended for all the beginners like me out there.

Great, value and quality once again.

I know this sounds a bit prefers, but the only reason I don't give these five stars is because they are only available in 12 gauge. I know I'm not being really fair, just a little frustrated that such quality and reliability combined with an unbeatable price, is not available in maybe one more choice of gauge.

Great strings. I use only these on acoustic and will continue to do so.

Good but...

I feel that good strings make you feel better about your playing, as well as your playing sound better. These strings are okay, but I think it's better to spend a few euro extra for a set of Martins.

Good for the price

First off, I 'd like to say that these strings have a very good price. I mean they 're probably the cheapest guitar strings you can find and taking that into account they offer pretty great value. These were the first strings I ever bought and of course I have tried other strings since then and have come to like others more, both the sound and the durability of them, but I guess if you don't have much money at the moment or if you just want them for your second guitar and/or for emergencies, then they are a very good choice.

5 out of 5

I have used these guitar strings for many years, yes they don't sound as warm or as clear of their rivals but you can buy 6 sets compared to 1 set of "named" strings. When you have over 30 guitars in a collection it is very expensive to keep changing strings. These are just perfect.

Color

When I bought them I was not expecting something good. Not even 1 week strings. But it surprised me. They lasted me 2 months. They had very bright, unusual tone. Gonna buy them one more time.

Buone

cheap and better than cheerful

amazingly cheap, bough lots as I sometimes buy cheap acoustics to re sell,, these are more than perfect as they are top quality I thought they'd be poor quality for less than a quid packet, but I really cant tell the difference between these and strings costing 5 times as much. try it I don't think you can tell either.

well packaged, the usual gauges, prompt service.. thanks mr T!

Must-buy product!

I'd already bought some 010s from this brand/range, this time I tried the 012s.

There's not much to say. You get regular strings, with average tone and durability for less than 1€/£.

These are great for people who like the sound of new strings. It makes no sense buying more expensive strings if you like to change them regularly.
