Great value!

These Harley Benton strings are as good as it gets for the price. Really cheap but still reliable and they sound pretty good to my ears. I have been using them for some tiime now, acoustic and electric sets - they all seem to keep the tune and take the abuse pretty well Even after few months of heavy gigging with them - 3-5 times a week - they are still useable - and not one string has broken during all that time. A pleasant suprise for a working musician, cheap strings usually have low quality - they break often, or sound out of tune, or they simply do not sound good even when new from the box. These are the real deal, not good as some very expensive strings but they can keep up with any mid priced electric guitar strings. In my opinion wound strings sound a little darker but I actually like that. I would recommend these to anybody who needs quality strings at a great price. If nothing, you can buy a few packs just to have an emergency spare when needed, they will not cost you much and they will certainly deliver for the price you pay.

Sounds alright

Just recently restrung my acoustics with these, but to be honest - haven't played them that much yet. Anything other than longevity - they sound alright, nothing out of the ordinary. I personally don't really like very very fresh strings on acoustic guitars, they sound better to me when they've set in and lost just a tad of shimmer, so I'll update this over time, but so far I don't really feel the difference between these and much pricier strings. Sound nice when fingerpicked. If you're using thumbpicks AND fingerpicks to do that, I advise to play around on it for a while in order for the strings to set in, though again, that is my preference as they sound too shimmery for me. If they'll last long enough, I'll come back to this review and update it. Again, perfectly good strings, just not sure how long they last yet.

Amazing value

Once again, unbelievably good strings for a fraction of the cost of bigger brands - zingy and full of life, they should be tried at least once..

Just as good as most other brands on the market.

I can't tell any difference between these and much more expensive brands. When fresh they sound the same, feel the same, and last about the same length of time. Although I also make sure to apply Fast Fret after each use as this definitely improves the life span of the strings.

Ideal for my parlour

I usually tune down, but use these strings on a parlour guitar I keep in standard tuning.

They're durable, thick rhythmic tone and easy to fit.

Maybe not stay as bright for as long as martin 80/20s, but you can about 5 packs of these for one pack of those

Definitely worth a go

Amazing

I've had a set of these strings on my acoustic for about 3 months now and they still have a fantastic, bright tone to them, for the price you really can't complain and they seriously can take a beating. Even if you buy more expensive strings to use these are great to just keep in your case if the other strings snap.

Amazing for price but break easy + not good for magnet Pickups

So for the price no complaints. They are strings, they sound like strings and they do the job. They break very easy and i find the B string is ALWAYS very buzzy on the frets of any guitar strung with these strings, and also they sound and feel about 1 gauge lower than they state - the 12s sound like thin 11s, the 13s would sound like thin 12s etc.

BUT. At the price, buy a few and use them as complete backups always in your case/backpack. Cant fault them for the price.

Buyers Choice

As good a string as I have used, represents HUGE value for money.

Decent

These strings are good for the money, won't be beaten for that price

Great Strings at a low price

I use this one for a cheap guitar I take to parties and other drunken events.

They are not bad at all.

Good for a quick replacement or for cheap acoustic.

Great price value ratio.

Really good cheap acoustic strings

Much like their electric brethren (Harley Benton Valuestrings 009) I've purchased and used quite a few sets of these on a variety of acoustic guitars and they do the job nicely. In fact, the only downside of these acoustic strings for me is that they don't come in anything lighter than 12s, but hey, that's hardly the end of the world.

Fresh out of their packaging, they stay a bit curly, but soon straighten out once brought up to tension. Quite bright with a nice bottom end, they keep their clarity quite well (better than most sets of Martin strings that I've used) and despite some abuse from a variety of players at open mic nights, I'm yet to witness any snap under playing conditions.

In a nutshell, really good acoustic strings for a really good price.

Nice Strings

Well my acoustics are long overdue a restringing (try a year and 5 months, yeah not much of an acoustic player) so im not going to bother comparing them to the sound of the martin and d'addarios I had on them before hand, by my what a difference, the guitars came to life, sounded lovely and the brightness that I love was back, so yeah, they're good strings, do what they need to do and sound great :)

Decent quality strings!

The Harley Benton value range of strings are by no means the best guitar strings I have ever used - but they are pretty good!

The unique selling point of these strings is the price. I have never seen a set of guitar strings priced at just over £1! Despite the low price though, I have enjoyed using them and have around 20 packs in various gauges stockpiled in the studio!

They sound good, fell pretty good, and last a decent amount of time. The only odd thing is the 1st and 2nd strings have a strange waxy feel to them when you first take them out of the packet - fine when on your guitar though.

Great strings

I am pleased with what I got. I am not a picky guitar player though.

Very good

I buy this strings only to use them to setup my new guitar. But I must say they are very good, not as good as big brands, but.... c'mon... at this price you could not ask for more

Impressive quality compared to cost

I bought an acoustic guitar and I wanted some strings for when the inevitable happens and I am left with a 5 string guitar :D

Sure enough I already killed my high e and decided to do a complete swap, the other people who wrote about these strings were not lying, you really get good quality for low cost.

Not the last time I buy Harley Benton strings.

Strings for just over £1 GBP

I am a great fan of these value strings, at just over £1 GBP per set you can afford to change these far more often than more expensive strings. I agree that you can buy better strings but how much better is down to your opinion. I think they are 85 to 90 percent as good as big brand strings but only 10 percent of the price.

They have a nice bright sound and don't break any easier that branded strings.

They are very well packed and well marked and certainly a great choice for a beginner or intermediate player.

Try a few sets and you will be surprised.
