Harley Benton Valuestrings WE 12-53 Reviews
Great Value Strings
I use these strings because I tend to replace them often. This is best bang for the buck for this purpose.
The pros are low price and good quality. The cons are quite short life span, but as I said, I replace them often. Maybe I like ever so bright strings.
Great value
Great value strings and as long as you use Fast Fret, they will also last a long time too
Always have a pack in your case.
I always keep these as spares, but again they are good to go for gigs, especially if its a gig/tour where you would be changing strings a lot .
Save yourself some cash and try a set. The coated Acoustic are my choice for regular gigs.
Very Nice Strings
I originally purchased these strings just out of interest at how cheap strings would be. However, I am extremely impressed by these strings. The value for money Is excellent. I have used many (including some very expensive) brands of guitar strings but these are pretty good. I like to bulk buy these so I have lots for gigs & recording. They worked well for me on my cruise ship contract and another guitarist aboard ended up asking about and buying these strings for his guitar. I recently did a recording session and put chose to use a nice fresh set of these strings on my Martin. The recording session turned out really well and is set for radio and tv play later this year. Therefore these strings are appropriate for professional use. The strings stay quite bright for a good week or two and don't show signs of rust for over a month ( I have a set on an old guitar that I don't play much !! ) . I'd recommend these strings
Only get these if you're really broke
These are not great strings, but what do you expect for ¤1.50?
Sound is not great and they don't stay well for long. I replaced mine after three weeks (and I usually keep them on for 3 months..)
Bottom Line: Get them to fill an order to shipping price limit of if you are really broke.
Very happy
I have been using these for a while now.
These are the best value money can buy... sounds nice and crisp and last as much as the other more expensive ones.
Highly recommended.
great for the money
For the price these are great. So far they are lasting just as well as premium brands and I've had no tuning or stability issues.
I've been using HB value strings on most of my guitars now. For home playing , I really now see no reason in spending much more on a set of strings that I'll end up changing just as often.
Good strings
As the name implies, these are a good budget set of guitar strings.
Low-cost strings with great sound
These strings have the best music/price ratio. I have already bought around 100 packs of these and I will definitely continue doing so. I have tried some more expensive strings but the sound was not worth the price difference.
Good value
These strings are good value considering the price. I would buy them as spares, or if you are looking at trying out a new gauge but not sure if you want to spend a lot of money on a good set, or if you really don't care about very good strings.
I personally won't buy again but that's because I really care about good strings.
I would definitely recommend this though, just bear in mind that these are not the best strings out there.
Unplugged power
I have three acoustics and as you may or not know they need string changes more often than an electric guitar does. So these phosphor bronze strings are perfect for changing when necessary without breaking the bank. You can always rely on Harley Benton products for value and quality.
Good strings
I mounted these strings on my Fender Sonoran. I find them satisfying. The thicker strings lost their intonation after a month of casual playing, that's reasonable. They are excellent for the price.
Great as a backup
Have a few of these in your case so you can switch strings if they break during a gig. Better than opening a full paradigm or elixirs just to use one string. To bad quality at all
Valuable
Work well on acoustics and electrics, particularly archtops of both varieties. Essential in the bag or when the well of Martin and Dunlop runs dry. A lot of cheap strings only sound reasonable when strung in a full set, though replacing broken Bs and Es with these on an instrument otherwise strung with a set ten times the price presents 'Valuestrings' as evidence to the contrary. Jazz, folk, and country all handled well. Gentle on the slide, though.
Pretty average but very good for the price
I did not expect too much for this price but I needed strings as I have more guitars than I need and did not want to pay too much.
Overall, the quality is OK , good for the price but I will not used them on my favourite/most used guitars only the standbys.
They do last a while as well which is a big plus for the way I will be using them.
Sound is a bit tinny on the trebles and the 4th string is a bit dull, maybe too critical at this price as I will be getting more.
Why pay more for your strings ?
I have been using these strings for over 5 years. I like the fact that the only difference I notice is in my wallet ! I have about 10 of my own acoustic guitars and about 20 of my students use the strings as well as many of my friends some of whom are also professional guitarists . I host an open mic night every week and for the last 3 years everybody has been happily using the house guitar with these strings. I must have used about 500 sets over the last 5 years on my guitars as well as my students and they seem consistent . They are about £1 a set and that is fantastic value for money, and they don't seem to fade any quicker than any others sometimes costing 5 times more ! Save yourself a lot of money and get some !
Great value strings
Good acustic strings.
Pros
You can change them as often as you like because of its price.
They sound ok, but not too good.
Ideal for practice, jamming, every day use.
Cons
They dont sound very well. Martis are much better
I wouldn't use them on stage.
What do you expect of strings that cost 1.50 euros?
I usually use D Addarios EJ16s for my acoustic but decided to give these a try at its cheap price. With its cost a quarter of my usual strings i could afford to experiment with them. Did not expect much when they arrived but i could already tell that these were some bad strings. the circular hooks were very loose and shaky and some of them were sharp around the edges. The main turning point came when i tried to string the low E string. I was coiling my string like usual when i heard a scratchy some and i realized the string was unwinding itself! It snapped a split second later. My advice is avoid these when possible and stick to the strings you know and love.
Cheap for a reason
I strung my Lowden F25C with these strings, and they sounded pretty mediocre in my opinion. Freshly strung, they already sounded dull, and they went even darker within a couple days of playing.
the best for that price
I like Harley Benton guitars, also I like that strings that they produce, and it's accesible for many guitar players.
