Harley Benton Valuestrings Bass 45-105 5-stars Reviews
Good
I have no complaint about these strings, they look, feel and sound just fine. And they're like 4 times as cheap as other strings
Great value for bass guitar strings
It's the strings I'm using on my Squier jazz bass and they're great. The bass strings are usually very expensive, but this is not the case.
They're not the brightest in tone, so if you're after that contrabass sound they are just perfect.
So, just get them and you won't regret it.
Strings not much to say about them
Not expensive good to throw in the bottom of the gig bag just in case.
Fantastic budget strings
I would recommend these strings to everyone, who buys a new bass - just change the factory strings to these, and you will improve the sound of your instrument in a blink of an eye. The copper-looking ends add a nice touch to the overall look of the instrument, and there is nothing wrong with their quality. At that price, these strings are hard to beat.
Inexpensive bass strings
The only strings I could find at this price are the SINGLE strings for bass. But these do their job flawlessly, and at a quarter than what I'd have spent on a "known brand" set. Put on my bass a couple of months ago and they are still sounding brand new. Also, I kept them in the package for months and no rust or oxidation. Great value!
very good!
Good strings, they sound very bright, in combination with a set of vintage pickups (i have them on my Fender Precision) i think it is a good match. One only downside is they are not marked in the envelope: i would have preferred to have individual bags with markings, but it is not a big deal, you can tell them apart by feeling the thickness with your fingers. The price is simple unbeatable, period.
Amazing strings, Amazing sound
Bought for a quick re-string before heading into the studio. I will definitely be buying these strings more often for my basses. they sound amazing and are heck of a lot cheaper than the leading brands
very good
If you need strings, just buy them. If you're a snob and would not dream of buying these, buy then anyway and keep them in the case for emergencies. they work well.
High quality for small buck!
Very good sounding and good durability on those. For the price, it does not get any better.
Great value !
I use these strings on my harley benton bass on standard tuning. They do their job pretty good. No Harley Benton product let me down and thats why i tried this set.
I didn't expect too much because of their low price but they turned out to be really good!
I can get the amount of "clang" that want and thats enough for me.
Also they keep their brightness for 7-8 days and its nice considering their price.
You can't go wrong with this product !!
Very, very good value roundwound strings
When I saw the price of these nickel plated roundwound strings I couldn't believe it. I couldn't resist to try those...and I'll tell you, they left me pleasantly surprised!
They sound and react pretty much as a typical set of strings of this type should, if not the sound isn't that much bright at the beginning maybe, but honestly I'm loving these strings because of that! They are clear and bright, mind you, it's just that they are not the brightest strings in my experience.
Silk is light orange, if you have to know that.
Tension is medium high, so the sound is punchy and bold. Very nice indeed!
Great and affordable
I have very sweaty hands and these don't get rusty after a month or lose brightness, been using these packs for over 4 years never had anything complain about it, you wont find anything as good in the market for that price believe me I've searched
Can't beat the buck for value on these.
I purchased these a while back, simply for testing them out. Harley Benton products have so far done right by me, so I wanted to check out their el-cheapo strings.
Wound them up on my bass, tuned to drop C, and the got going. Though they're in no means the 'perfect' strings, no set out there really is. They sounded out nice, a little short on the sustain, but really good lows and even the high-end sounded ok.
Point of it all? Even if they had been priced the cost of any decent brand set (i.e. 25-40) I'd still think they'd be ok. But priced at around the 5 euro mark, these are just brilliant.
They've kept up their sound even after some months, and right now I'd restring any set of strings anyway.
Pretty good bang for the buck.
Super value
I got these for a throwabout bass i use for occasional recording... i was not sure as the price was so low but they're incredible, still going strong after even playing a few gigs with them on and I can't hear or feel any difference between these and 'name' brands.
Great strings, great value
This is more or less what I wrote for the 5-string version of these strings. I think strings are an important component of how the instrument feels, and I am not usually inclined to be a cheapskate when buying them. However, these play as well as other brand strings and really do not cost as much.
Some corners may have been cut, but in the end they just play quite well. I find the tension might be a little lower?and to be perfectly honest, it seems to me that they might be ever-so-slightly thinner than other strings of the same gauge (as advertised on the pack).
This is in no way a deal breaker, though. I mostly install them on my cheaper basses, but now I have a set on a nicer Jazz Bass and they play very well.
They seem to have a very decent lifespan. Perhaps they are not quite as bright as other brands when new, but they do keep their brightness for quite a while.
In conclusion, these are nice strings, could go well on any bass, really, and at this point my only complaint is that they do not do any six string version, which would be nice as nowadays I mainly play a sixer. Other than that, I highly recommend them.
Incredible
So cheap, yet they hold tune and are playable for such a long time, as good or better than budget strings of more well known brands.
If only Harley Benton produced a flatwound version of these strings...
Great Value
As a regular gigging bass player, I thrash through strings in no time. These are brilliant quality with a good life span. Smooth to play and a lively sound that doesn't deaden off quickly.
Over all extremely happy with my purchase, I will be buying more!
I order them multiple sets at a time so I always have them to hand
Decent bang for the buck
I'm not that into bass but I do find the strings okay and decent for my bass which I do not play regularly.
They come at a really cheap price so in my opinion they're okay.
Great for that price
As the tittle says, you get what you pay for.. Eventhough these are cheap strings the actually sound awsome... And if you are a gigging musisian like me, and feel the need to change string often these are the ideal ones for you. Ordered these one time just to try them , and since then have used no other strings... Definitely recomend that you buy these.
Cheap But Good Quality Strings
Very cheap bass strings that are a great quality and saved an actual concert for me.
I bought these because a friend of mine had actually broke a string on one of my basses, not only was i annoyed but in a dilemma, not having much money at and having to buy strings 5 days before a gig, i could just afford these but really expected to have to buy new string soon after using these but surprisingly im still using them to this day, i would prefer them in a thicker 50 gauge but sadly Harley Benton does not provide them.
Tone wise they dont sound much different between D'arrdrios which is what i tend to use, genre wise they are
very flexible as well, i tend to stick to hard rock/heavy metal but they do suit and i can get some very nice tones
from them acoustically and amped up.
They are tending to decay and get dirty but i do use my bass regularly and preform alot so i have expected this,
they do feel quiet rough after a long session like 23 hours and can cause some soreness to possible new
players.
Overall you get some good strings for a very low price
