K&M 210/30 BK Reviews
solid and stable microphone stand for fair price
At first I got a cheaper alternative from a popular brand as I was mainly going to use it for room measurements but as soon as I tried it and saw how wobbly it was, I put it back in the box, returned it, ordered a k&m and never looked back. you won't too...
Nice stand for everyday work
Solid, well built stand, on the mid-cheap side but still better than the average cheapo boom stand. Nice weight, there is only one feature that I personally don't like: the screw-on boom part of the stand, which connects the upper part to the straight one; sometimes, when I want to tighten the the stand to a certain height (clockwise motion), holding the top part with your other hand may cause the upper part to come loose (being applied a counter clockwise motion), which is pretty annoying, to the point that I'm thinking about gluing this upper screw once for all (the one connecting the straight part to the boom contraption). Some stands do not have this strange screw connection (I guess is there for disassembly purposes), and I think it is for the best...
Other little minor issue, the boom arm is a bit wobbly, once the knob is tightened, there is still a little game on the arm. It's not a big concern, but if you are looking for professional studio equipment and/or going to record with a very sensitive mic, I would look (obviously) for a more solid stand. Overall, nice stand for rehearsal room/ amateur, intermediate recording applications.
K&M quality
I deducted one star for handling just because the boom is not a telescope boom and CAN get in the way in some applications. Other than that, nothing to complain. K&M stands have lasted easily for 10+ years in somewhat active use. They're sturdy and keep most mics in place reliably. It would be hard to run into a situation where you would expect a K&M stand to be able to hold a mic of a certain weight and it wouldn't.
Do not buy cheap stands, trust me. They do not last.
Excellent stand on a budget
K&M robust stand with a solid cast iron base. Height is just right even for tall people and the Boom is just a useful addition. Fine for stage handheld microphones and instrument mics. Cons: the boom arm sags in studio with a heavy condenser microphone, and you have to tighten the retaining screw a lot or hang a counterweight on the opposite end of the boom arm to keep it stable.
Microphone stand
One of the best Microphone stand. very stable stand, very good quality of manufacture. I use several such stands.
perfect durable mic stand
I've had this mic stand now for a few years. It's mostly at my studio, but sometimes I take it on location work and gigs. It's been knocked about quite a bit, but it almost even doesn't have any cosmetic damage, and it is fully functional. So it's very sturdy. It holds the mic quite steady, and doesn't even have a problem with a stereo bar and two heavy mics on it. And even though this is the version with the smaller feet, it is very stable in the studio and on stage.
the extendable boom makes it also very useable in close quarters.
wholeheartedly recommended.
Good
Use for Mic and my Go Pro for Live Stream, everything okay.
Spend a little more and get one model up.
Everything about this stand feels high quality and sturdy.
The only problem I have with it is that if you extend the boom arm to far out it has a tendency to tilt forward. It is not posible to tighten the screw holding this tight enough.
Because of this problem, my advice would be to spend a little more and get one model up.
Decent - but I am disappointed!
I use this stand quite a lot in my studio and it is pretty stable and has no problem holding 57s, MD421s, pencil condensers or lightweight large diaphragm condensers (eg 414) out on a reach. But what really bugs me is that a K+M stand droops if I set it to hold a u87 or similar on a half-extended reach. With the little plastic nut you just can't get enough torc. If you really go for it and groan a lot, you can get it to hold - but sometimes it still sags. For heavier mics get the one with the metal pin though the nut - I have one of those and I trust it!
Great Mic Stand
This is a great stand but it is as expected for a K&M product which I have always found to be great.
Strong, sturdy, reliable.
I've had this stand for a couple of years now and it still feels new. The build quality is great and its held every microphone I've tried on it, including the incredibly heavy Rode Nt2. These are great if you're looking for a reliable stand for live gigs or in the studio. Definitely recomended!
Always good quality from K&M
Long time K&M customer and you always know you'll get good quality. Recommended.
Good stand!
I really like this stand, however, I noticed when you are pulling cable from your microphone (for example) upper part of stands knows to drop down even if you tighten it up. (If you know what I mean...) For this price it is a good deal!
Medium quality for low price
The stand handles classic dynamic microphones without an issues but larger mics with shock mounts weigh down the stand and some additional tempering with it to get the balance right.
Superb
Fantastic quality, made in Germany and a great price. Can't get much better than that!
Fantastic Value for money
It is difficult to tell from the pictures, but the stand feels really secure and solidly built!
It can easily support heavy mics, and feels fairly heavy duty.
I've tried a few different lower priced stands and this one is by far the best.
K&M Stand Review
Does the job - no questions asked.
Definitely decent value for money. More than twice as good than stands half the price that I've seen.
I definitely have confidence that it will still be in good shape in a years time.
I have experience with some much more expensive stands that are of superior quality, but - as I said - much more expensive.
Over all, I see this as a good choice, from a good brand, that would be ideal for beginner to intermediate level performers.
Would have liked if it came with a mic clip - or specified that it doesn't (so I could have gotten one in the same order), but they're cheap, so no biggie!
You get what you pay for
These aren't bad for the money, but would not be near the quality or stability of the more expensive K&M stands. They are good for light work (such as straight up vocal mic) but I don't thing I would put a large diaphragm condensor over a drum kit with one.
A good stand, but I imagine there are better
This stand works, is stable and doesn't fall over easily, as long as you position the arm along one of the legs. It is a little unstable, with a lot of play back and forth, but this is only a minor concern as the weight stabilizes things and makes it pretty solid. My biggest complaint is that I had to use a wrench to tighten the up/down joint in the arm, as it had a tendency to slowly sag otherwise. Works well, all in all.
Great for overhead
This is an awesome mic stand for doing overhead miking of a drum kit. Very sturdy and it also has a good reach. When its extended to its full length it still holds the mic quite well.
