A useful spltter that Does its job

I got this switch to split the guitar signal between two amps. Another reason is to have a switcher for my amp or for my guitar tuner where in both cases It does it's job. The case and switches seem robust. My opinion is there is no difference between Lead ABY and other expensive brands. The size is just right for me.

As a cons I could say the lack of jack input for power supply, only butteries are available, however it works without the battery, which is only necessary for the led lights. It only takes a single AA battery which lasts a long time as long as you remember to unplug your cables.

Also, it can be used 2-ways (2in 1out or 1in 2out). Great value.

No difference between Lead ABY and other expensive brands

This is the very good ABY switcher. my opinion is there is no difference between Lead ABY and other expensive brands. The size of the Lead Foot ABY is just right for me. I can keep 2 guitars plugged in with the ability to quickly & noiselessly switch them out within seconds. At the end of the night, I just unplug it and it tucks away perfectly into my pedal board. Finally, it only takes a single AA battery which lasts a long time as long as you remember to unplug your cables. If you're in need of an excellent AB box, this is the one to get, especially for the price.

Works as expected

Inexpensive but works like a charm. Battery compartment and the access should work better.

Battery does nothing but lighting LEDs and it is a great way to get more value out of the batteries from your effects (or looper). Works like a charm!

Great tool

If you want 2 separate instruments into one amp A - B this thing works great. Battery is not necessary.

Super solid

Works great. Used to switch between bass and guitar amps during live.

Noisy

Lack of sound insulation.

Inexpensive but cheap. Orange amp detonator miles ahead.

good, cheap switcher

At the moment of purchase this was the cheapest A/B switcher available, but after a year of heavy usage it hasn't let me down. The only this I would add is an option to power it with an external power supply. I don't like using batteries.

A really useful spltter

I use it two feed one or two guitars into two Bugera V22 combos. It works brilliantly and for the money it's a bargain. I've written this because I read the other reviews and several make no sense at all. There's no volume drop and no weird noises. www.martinriderguitarist.co.uk

Excellent product

This is a great product if you know how to use it and your gear. (there are many poor reviews due to uninformed use)

Box is sturdy, switches click, click feels great, no power jack.

Power input is easily solved with a drill and a soldering iron (I even kept the battery option).

Buttons inside are 2P2T, do not expect it to be able to mod it for stereo or full galvanic disconnection (to disconnect ground) and keep the internals.

Great switch

I purchased this foot switch back in 2016. Since then, I’ve never have any issues and still working as new

Great value

Built like a tank and with a great presentation.

Very nice packaging and instructions printed on glossy paper altough not very helpful or detailed..

The unit is very sturdy, the only issue is the battery door and mechanissm.

The door is kind of hard to seat in place and has a bug screw bulging on the outside of the pedal, meanwhile the battery sits loosely on the inside.

You have to keep both jacks disconnected to prevent battery drain.

This pedal should have a standard barrel type 9v external connection

Lead Foot ABY AB/Y Switch

A very good item. I have other A/B switches, but they rely on 9v battery to work. This unit works without, but you can use one for the indicator light. I also find that this unit loses no tone, whereas others do. Highly recommended!

Great tool

The only thing I don’t like about it, is the battery lid...a bit too flaky.

Great for A B switching, not good for Y

I've got two of these, so I can switch between 3 guitars. For that purpose it works perfect. Don't use this to send your guitar through two amps at the same time, because there will be a volume decrease.

So consider this an AB pedal, because the Y isn't very useful.

It's a pity that you can only use a battery to power it, although you can solve that with a converting plug.

It is at the other hand ofcourse very cheap, so that balances the downsides.

Overall I do like this pedal for switching between different guitars, otherwise I wouldn't have bought a second one.

Great unit. A power switch would be good.

Love the way the box is constructed and definitely like how flexible in options is.

I don't love the fact a battery is needed for the LEDs. It would of been much better if there was an extra switch to turn the LEDs off to save battery power if you don't wanna disconnect your cable.

Overall good product

The switching works perfect, nice solid housing, very good value!

There are a few things that can be improved:

The battery cover is horrible to put back on. The screw on the side takes up space on the pedalboard.

The battery sits loose inside the housing, I hope this is not harmful for the pcb board inside the pedal.

When plugged in, the led stays on. So I have to unplug the unit to prevent the battery from draining when I am not using it. A power supply connection would have been nice.

amazing

very simple , very informative with the lights and the schematic on the box , sturdy

it actually is very versatile piece of equipment unlike others in the same category who have 1 functionalities.

i used it mainly to have 2 different input going to 1x amp but it also let you split your signal chains from 1 guitar to 2 different amps.

anyway , i love it . so far no cons , price wise also its amazing.

Solid and reliable

I use this as a A/B box so I can switch between two basses. If that?s all your doing, you won?t even need the battery for leds. The markings on the box don?t really seem to make sense, so you tend to plug in two leads and tap away until it switches from A to B
