RME ADI-2 DAC FS

Based on 31 reviews
Initially I intended to purchase a 2nd interface for my secondary location, where I mostly just relax and do a little bit of work on the side. However, upon finding out that my favorite audio interface brand released something in between a pro and consumer DAC product it immediately caught my attention. Having owned the RME UFX interface for a while now, I knew what I was getting - a very well made, very high quality and easy to use product. And I wasn't disappointed. I only had to wait a while for delivery as it's constantly getting sold out of stock - something of a testiment to the product's value. For the pros: - sound (obviously) is absolutely high-end and crystal clear (monitors) - heapdhone amp, which after having owned multiple REALLY high end amplifiers I can honestly say I'm...
Dante AVIO Analog Input Adapter 2x0

Based on 4 reviews
We used this Dante AVIO's adapters to convert digital non-dante mixer (Soundcraft UI24R) into party DANTE-enabled device (practically "stagebox"; to be able to get master & monitor sound over long distances and on the other hand 4 channels get back to mixer = 2x INPUT, 2x OUTPUT). This is absolutely starter for anyone who considering to apply DANTE into their workflow. We use it to leave our mixer as stagebox on stage and get important sounds from/to mixer to video mixer for live streaming purposes. :)
Lynx Studio Hilo silver USB

Based on 2 reviews
Not one to buy without research, I expected the Hilo to be great. Even with those expectations, I've been blown away by this bit of gear! It's a fantastic upgrade from my previous converters, with an incredibly transparent sound and next to no noise floor. Additionally, I'm incredibly impressed with the touchscreen for interacting with the device. It makes the setup of any routing options a breeze, as well as any configuration of the metering. Furthermore, I had not expected the metering options available to be as great as they are. The real-time analyser that was introduced with the latest firmware upgrade has a display (though a little small) worthy of a unit much more expensive than the hilo, and the responsiveness it exhibits blew my mind! I have no qualms about recommending the...
Lynx Studio Hilo Black USB

Based on 1 reviews
This is a magic box in its own category. Nothing on the market gives you quite what the Hilo offers. The conversion is pristine and reveals the low-end nicely which most converters struggle with. Usability is high up there as well with everything being laid out nicely and clearly, and never more than a few touches away. The touch screen is solid and comfortable to use. Connectivity is on par as well, with AES/EBU on board as well as other standard connections. The box is solidly built and a pleasure to hold and use. The way this unit is designed allows it to remain usable far into the future. The changeable interface card and flexible software will prove to be useful in this matter. This is the dream box for a singer/song writer, or for someone who only needs a couple of channels of...
Rupert Neve Designs MBC Master Buss Converter

Based on 1 reviews
Can’t get enough of this converter. Stays at the end of my analog chain (Manley Ref C -> Neve preamp -> api2500+ -> Neve MBC -> RME UFXII - last two are connected through AES, so that main AD converter is MBC. Sounds fantastic! Very, very transparent limiter. Also, the silk colors are so good, that I couldn’t have imagined, that they would color my mixes so good. It adds a lot of sweet clarity. The only thing, that I don’t like is that the power switch is at the back of the unit.
Benchmark DAC3 L Black

Based on 1 reviews
The best complement I can give the Benchmark Dac3L is that it is as transparent as I have heard a DAC to be. Replaces my Arcam irDac-II - not that there is much wrong with the Arcam unit. Like most DACs, whether that's worth 2000 euros more than the DAC it replaced is hard to say. I am glad I have it and enjoy listening to music via it. Will be looking to add a power amp downstream and making this the heart of my hifi system. Useful pre-amp features. Doesn't look like 2250 euros worth of dac (if such things are important to you), nor does it have a fancy display... What it does do well is convert 1s and zeros into analogue sound - something that is more important to me than how it looks or having a fancy screen that tells me information I already know.
RME ADI-2 Pro FS R Black Edition

Based on 10 reviews
Just extremely great product. Very precise and accurate converter. I use it for music listening, mixing, mastering - and everywhere the results are outstanding. Very powerful and clearness sound. It has a lot of features and options to tune, and you really need to check manual at least the first time be be able to fully use its potential. That is why I take off 1 point from handling. Also be sure of good ventilation as that unit become pretty hot after continuous periods of operation. After all this is insanely great product and I would definitely recommend it.
Swissonic HAD-1

I only wanted a headphone amplifier, but got so much more. As a headphone amp, it puts in a very creditable performance at a very reasonable price. I'm using it to drive a pair of AKG K-712 headphones and I'm more than satisfied with the sound. It also has USB in/out, S/PDIFF in/out, and phono in/out, built into a stylish and rugged metal box. My only slight criticism is that it requires a wall-wart power supply (included) rather than mains power. Extremely versatile device with great build quality.
Swissonic DA-192-24 Digital Analog Conve

Based on 6 reviews
I needed this to convert a toslink signal from a TV to analogue for speakers. It worked great, and setting it up was very little hassle. I didn't notice any issues with noise or jitter, everything sounded good. It doesn't have an analogue volume control on it - which was fine because I had a passive volume control already - but might have been a nice extra. You also can't change TV volume with a TV remote control using something like this either but this is a limitation of toslink rather than this device (there are HDMI to analogue devices that can do that and generally better suited to that sort of thing). This is perfect for what it aims to do.
Swissonic Converter DA 24/192

I used this converter to add a couple of analog exit to my presonus firestudio mobile. That interface has 2 analog main out, 2 digital out and a headphones out. I just needed to connect a spdif cable and it worked straight away. The audio quality seemed to me at the same level as the presonus. Bear in mind that my setup wasn't a professional level. My speaker are old and quite cheap M-audio, I don't have a sound treated room. For me it's very much a hobby. In this context spending thousands of euros for a DAC would be simply stupid. What I expect is that the sound is decent and I got that from a 35euros box. At this price point I can't really find anything to complain about.
