Works great for such a small price

I was a bit scared of the plastic construction but it's very sturdy and works great.

I'm using it with a Boss MS-3.

Good for home studio

Small pedal, does not take up much space. Easy to operate with my UK13 size feet too :)

Good solid expression pedal

Does the job, despite being in plastic it's sturdy enough and I never had a problem with mine even if I pushed it hard. Definitely recommend it.

Good for it's price

(before you read anything, please keep in mind that I really tend to work my pedals to their maximum ability, so no, I do not have a soft leg!)

Ok I'll just be as honest as possible here.

For this price, I couldn't find anything better. Now the quality is as low as it can be for a "decent" expression pedal. I play a lot of clavinet in the keys using "wah" and yeah, I broke mine on the third month of intense use. But then again its electronics is super responsive and functional. I just opened it and fixed it into something very robust so now for that price I got something very, very good!

If you're a person that will not try to fix stuff that brake, I do not suggest buying it. But if you don't mind opening it up and doing some DIY work, then I highly suggest it as for this price, functionally it's working like butter on bread.

Good Pedal

We've used this for Keys and as an expression pedal for guitar pedals. It does a good job - very much a plug and play piece of gear.

Cheap, but sturdy, works well

Great cheap expression pedal. It does what it's supposed to do. Added bonus: minimum volume can be dialed in, plus added polarity switch.

It's bigger than the photo's would suggest and feels sturdier than you might think.

Only downside: the TRS cable isn't detachable.

its okay

its not supper solid and the build quality is okay. but it does the job, and its cheap.

Express Yourself

I got this to use with my Boss SE-70 Super Effects Processor, a legend in it's own lunchtime...

This M-Audio EX-P works great for Wah or Swell when plugged into the Exp Pedal socket.

I tried to use a different make Exp Pedal, it worked but only at the very end of it's travel. Wrong resistance in that pot I expect.

This M-Audio has just the right resistance pot for the job.

The construction is sturdy and the rubber gives a good grip.

And Cheap As Chips !!!

Edit: Just got another one. Modified this time to work with a Firehawk. Is there no end to it's verstility?

It works good for me

I bought this expression pedal to use it with my Electro Harmonix Pitch Fork. It is good for my needs so why to pay more for more expensive expression pedal....

Good quality, great price.

I needed a pedal to control my MWFX Judder and the EX-P was a great price. It is very sturdy for a plastic pedal, has not let me down and I believe it will take a load of home studio abuse (not that it will get it from me!). I would gig with it but I'd bring another as back-up - at the price I wouldn't worry too much should anything happen.

There is not a lot to it, other reviewers have pointed out its switch and offset knob (a Godsend in my case) and it really is light and does not take up a lot of space. For the price I feel this was very good value.

I'm not an expression pedal expert so perhaps my misgiving is moot/non-standard or just wishful thinking for the price. The one flaw I feel might be an issue going forward is that the pedals lead is attached permanently. Personally, I would much rather I could attach any stereo cable to it as strain wouldn't be an issue and I could use whatever length I wanted.

Very happy with it so far.

Pros - Cheap as chips, lightweight, feels sturdy for what it is and has all the features I need.

Cons - Can't complain for the price. Removable cable on a standard stereo jack would have been ideal for me.

Don't let the plastic fool you!!

I've had this Expression Pedal for more than 3 years now and it still looks the same, don't let the plastic fool you, it is still a robust pedal.

It works great with any other device that i plug it to, without any problem. It serves its purpose any day.

This pedal is a quality item that does not cost a lot, and it is very versatile to use with any keyboard or accessory that requires live performance control. Money well spent!

brilliant and cheap

bought 2 of these to use with my prophet 12 synth and suddenly expanded the thing. now i can control 2 extra parameters with both feet. definately adds way more expression if u have a decent synth to plug them into. the pedals themselves are built pretty well for the price too.

What else to say? It works. If you're a heavy stomper, maybe get something that's not made from plastic. Otherwise, it's a solid product.

Good value entry level expression pedal

I got this pedal to replace the omnipresent Behringer FCB1010, a mighty multi-faceted beast but, alas, too much so for my needs. All I needed was a straight-up MIDI expression pedal to control various effects on Native Instruments Guitar Rig and, upon completing my purchase of the M-Audio Keystation Pro 88, I had a compact alternative to the Behringer controller presented to me.

However, that is a point to stress, just in case you're under any illusion that this is some magic MIDI expression pedal - you will need a valid MIDI input device with an EXP port in order to take advantage of this pedal.

This aside, you get what you pay for - a basic interface for your foot and whatever MIDI controller value you choose to assign it to (most mainstream software that supports MIDI input will have a 'learn' facility that will match your MIDI CC to the desired effect).

I mostly use this in the home but I wouldn't expect it to stand up to much punishment whilst out on the road (for which I'd recommend the Behringer controller) - it's basically plastic, rubber and wires, there's not much to it but it gets the job done.

I bought this to use with different pedals, and if you've used expression pedals you'll know that the tip-ring setting may vary with the pedal you want to control. In the past I had an inverter (it was a 5cm TRS cable crossing the tip and ring of the plugs) but this one comes with a switch that inverts the output if you need.

It also has a knob to set the offset of the expression value (that is, it controls the zero of the pedal), which is great if you want a range from little wet to full wet instead of a dry-wet setting (might be useful to blend in the effect).

It doesn't weight much and it's footprint is small. It's made of sturdy plastic, so I don't know how long it will last.

pros: price, polarity switch, zero value knob, small footprint (for some this may be a con), light weighted;

cons: made of plastic, may not last through heavy usage

Inexpensive and functional

It's all you would expect from an expression pedal. Does not slide on the floor. The adjustment wheel for controlling the range of the expression control makes it compatible with any synth. Totally worth the price.

Great expression pedal

I bought this expresion pedal for fun. I looked for a simple expresion pedal to use it with diffrend pedals just to try them. I must say I was overall really impresed with M-audio expression pedal.

Whole pedal is made out of plastic, so the look of pedal is realy cheap. But still even with the plastic build it provides what it says on the box.

The transtion of the pedal is great, you can even adjust the amont of the sensitivity, which can come realy handy with different effects.

The pedal comes with a stereo cable. You can use it for mono or stereo expresion pedals.

For the price is a realy well build and a great use.
