ive used this with my marshall 1960B 4x12, it has to be stretched to its full extent to clamp on my cab. feels like it may fall apart soon,

Fits fine, but doesn't stay in place

bought 2 of these to minimize the amount of stands on stage when performing.

Fits nicely on our fender twinreverb amps with the clamp.

The downside is that the gooseneck doesn't stay in place during a concert. We've tried different placements on the amp, but all with the result that the gooseneck straightens a bit over time and mic is therefore no longer in place causíng the sound to alter or not being there at all!!!

maybe you get what you pay for?

Did not work for me - mic positioning is not as flexible in terms of precise mic positioning as claimed. In the model I bought mic was always bouncing back to a certain position, which I did not like. Buy it if your have a specific budget and the problem I faced actually works for you well.

Not strong enough

This seemed to be a godsend for me, as I record much at home and would love to have a permanent mic setup on my amp. Sadly, this device can't even hold the weight of an SM57 and won't stay in position when I set it up.

If you get a good position and never, ever move your amp or mic, this is the product for you. However, do not expect it to work for gigging or experimenting with mic placement.

Not bad

A very handy product for keeping the stage clear of excess mic stands to trip over.

The goose-neck could be a little longer and does sometimes have the tendency to straighten out a little by itself. Overall not a bad product.

very useful

a grate peace of cit for anyone doing live sound i have two of these now . grate for geting a nice tidy stage its out of the way it avoids your mic positions being moved by artiest kicking over your mic stands these clamps have a nice handy cable clip on them so you can beep your cables tidy as well. the goos neck is grate on smaller lighter mic's you can move it feely and it stays in position if you start to use heavier mics tho it dose tend to droop a bit but its not to bad iff you put the clamp up hieer than where you what your mic to go. these clamps are a grate perchance and im very happy with them word of worming tho iff you need them to mic up an orange 4x12 cabb this clamp wont fit its a bit of a stretch to fit on most cabs of that size for combos its grate ones for an experiment i did use it to clamp a mic to a rack tom witch worked pretty well looks horrible but it worked! so yeah i would recommend this clamp to a friend

Excellent for quick guitar mic'ing

This is well made and does the job really well. I imagine it would fit on most combo amps as well as guitar cabs. It can be a little awkward to position at the right angle and it sometimes moves a little. It's much better that the hassle of using a full mic stand. Great price!

Not sturdy

The amp clamp is simply not sturdy enough. The goose neck can't even hold up a SM57. And that has to be classified as a standard microphone for amp cabinets. But I did buy an amp stand aswell, and when the amp is angled backwards, it's easier to position the mic, since the ampclamp doesn't have to fight gravity as much.

If you want a steady ampclamp, that just works, buy the audix one instead.

The best mic clamp

I bought this product so that if I was in stage going crazy my mic would stay put on the amplifier. Even in the studio it's great because there's no mic stand in front of the amp on the floor to trip on.

Not bad, but gooseneck a could be longer

I changed my mind about this thing since the last few gigs.

It is not a good product.

I use it on a few different combos.

I feel the gooseneck is not long enough. I have to attach another gooseneck to it THEN the mic holder to enable correct positioning of the mic. This additional weight tends to mean that the mic can move.

I use it mostly on a small fender Excelsior and a Laney TT50.

You are better get a better one of these or just get a small mic stand or shorten the legs on an existing stand and modify it.

I was very disappointed in how this microphone holder was constructed. The gooseneck does not hold its position at all. When micing a guitar cabinet, even a small (1-2 centimeters) change in the position of the microphone can make a significant change in the sound. With this device, it is impossible to position a microphone accurately, or to adjust its position. The gooseneck is not strong enough to properly support, for example, an sm57.

A great, space saving idea!

This is a more affordable alternative to the Audix Cab Grabber mic clamp. It works by gripping the front and rear edges of a speaker cabinet with a spring-loaded clamp which is easy to install and remove. The contact points have rubber pads which provide friction which stops it slipping from the position you set the clamp in. Pros of this system are that you obviously don't need to use a separate mic stand, taking up floorspace, and with the mic attached to the cab, it doesn't matter if you move it, because the mic will follow. Cons are that the gooseneck can be difficult to keep in the position you set it in but once it stays, it holds its position well.

Pretty good

This doesn't fit all amps/cabs but when it does fit it's pretty good.

Your microphone manual will tell you how far away from the speaker it should be, usually around an inch. When fitted to a cab I had difficulty managing this but on a combo you often gain a little play because the top (above the controls) will be set back from the frame of the cab. If the goose neck was longer this would be solved.

Having said that, this is very good value and works pretty well. You could put a longer goose neck on it if you needed to.

Has some flaws

A clamp-on mic stand for the gutar amp is very practical for many situations. I'm using the Millennium Amp Clamp during rehershals and plan on using it live too. It's very easy to mount and there is no risk of bumping it out of position.

There are two flaws with the construction. First, the gooseneck is not flexible enough and tends to flex back when you try to position it. It's difficult to get it to point exactly where you want it to point. I'm going to replace it with a better goose neck (any mic stand goose neck should be possible to mount).

Second, I would have wanted it to be able to accept wider cabinets. My fellow guitarist in the band has an Orange 2x12 cab, and it's too wide for the amp clamp.

In summary, it's a nice product, but make sure your cabinet is narrow enough, and you need to plan on replacing the goose neck.

Excellent choise

I have used for studio and live, a good cheap solution. Dependin on the microphone, sometiomes I would like to have a stiffer gooseneck, anyway positioning the clamp in a different way, the problems are solved.

Very similar to the brand name versions

I have several of the original brand name versions of this amp clamp. They don't use the gooseneck for the mic mount as they say they come loose eventually. To be honest, although that may be true the gooseneck is much easier to position some microphones - especially flat facing ones like the Sennheiser e906 which I am using on some cabs. This is very good quality for the price, though it is a little cheap on the grip sections.

Not very good

Using it with SHURE SM57.

If the clamp is located on the sides it cant hold the mic. The clamp must be put on top of the amp, but still the goose neck is very shaky.

Mediocre

This product is, from what I can see, a rebrand of other amp clamps, which is of no problems as there are no differences in quality. The only difference is the price, this is cheap compared to competitor's products.

Keeps the stage clean and tidy and does the job well
