Millenium Amp Clamp Reviews
Good Product with some flaws.
I bought this to use with my Blackstar Artist 30 combo amp, and it is a great fit.
The gooseneck, is a littlebit flimsy and week, i would change it to a better one like the "Gravity MA goose M" (i have tried the S size but that was too small for it.) I think even with buying an extra gooseneck, you come out cheaper than buying a cabgrabber, or some other more expensive version of this.
It has nice rubber holders on the side for cable management, whit could be more sturdy, but they do their job fine.
doesnt work with amp...but
I got it to use on my ac30 but because the neck is so loose on it i ended up using it to hold my stereo mic bar on my upright piano and it clamps to the top and falls down the right direction, salvaging an otherwise useless item.
Can't keep mics in place
Like others have said, the bendable arm is too weak to support a mic like the sm57, or pretty much anything else. It even collapses on itself just ajdusting it before being mounted. Go for a stiff arm instead, like the cab grabber. What you lose in flexability you gain in it actually working.
excellent quality
7 years of use, numerous gigs, rehearsals, recordings traveling,
and still this thing is solid as rock.
recomended
ABSOLUTE LIFESAVER IN THE STUDIO AND ON STAGE!
What a fantastic mic stand, it holds the mic perfectly.
So much freedom for adjustability, I'm sure both Shure and Sennheiser style microphones would work very well with this.
Pro's:
-very adjustable
-affordable
-solidly built
-easy to use
-solid packaging
-saves space on stage
-great for consistent mic placement in the studio
Cons:
-NONE!
5/5 stars would buy again.
Amp Clamp for live use
Bought this amp clamp to negate the need to carry a mic stand around. It fits nicely on my boogie and although it can move about easily it generally stays in the right position. I have the mic off center to the edge of the speaker cone and it's perfect for this. Worth the money for the convenience.
Road worthy Amp Clamp
Gigged this all over the country! Stood the test of the road and did a great job!
Great in all settings
Does exactly as it says, fits my AC30, AC15 and Blues Junior. Very flexible and versatile.
Works well in a studio setting but has saved me time on live work too, saves an extra couple of precious minutes during setup time,
Highly recommended.
Great product
Works as a charm! Perfect and holds on very tightly!
Do not buy.
Just a waste of money. Gooseneck does not stay in place, it is too short. You better buy some cheap short mic stand.
Barely functional
The clamp instals easily but only on small speaker cabs due to limited grip. The spring that holds the clamp makes the strange sound when the amb is being played(!) sonuns like spring reverb. Funny effect but certainly unwanted. The movement of the gooseneck is limited and the neck keeps comming back to its initial position. Hence the clamp is barely functional.
I use two of them for last few years. They are not so bad. Need to give them some attention and love when placing them, not as plug and play as I was expecting. But after few minutes u can find the right way to use it. I got used to them after a while.
Handy bit of kit
Good strong spring.
The clamps are hard plastic.
It won't support a heavy LDC but for most mics i.e a SM57 it'll hold it in place.
the hook it not stay on the wanted shape
hello , cool product for the price it cost , but honestly the hook it not hold the shape i was selecting and i have to lock it with some elastic spring to stay in position
Nice one
I can't compare, because this clamp is my very first that i buy. So far looks nice and does the job. For the money you pay is more than you can expect!
Way too flexible
This amp clamp won't stay in place for long.
I've attached it to my amp and tried it with a really light mic but even so it always starts bending down after a while.
I'd suggest you spend some extra money and buy something more sturdy...
It's easy to attach and all but it's purpose, which is to keep the mic in place in your amp, fails completely.
Anyway, if you're still interested in this piece of clamp, the flexible tube can be dettached and swapped for something sturdier. I think they sell that separate part, but I haven't look it up yet.
I hope this review helps. Have a good day!
Has served us well
My guitarist used tihs on his fender hotrod. Has been a solid purchase.
Works as advertised
Provides a good grip, and seems sturdy. Would recommend
essential studio amp accessory
I leave one of these with an sm57 on my main amp all the time so it's recording ready and I'll get the same mic placement every time. Would recommend to anyone with a studio/home amp they use for a lot of recording
Fits Sennheiser E609 Perfectly!!!
The clamp is sturdy and because of the goose neck, you can position a 'non-regular' amp mic like the Sennheiser E609 or E906 in an excellent position, even touching the grill if you are into that kind of setting.
Other reviews stated that the goose neck don't hold mics properly as it's not strong, I have no issues whatsoever, the mic stays in perfect place in my rehearsal room as well as on stage.
I use is in several cabs and combos with the exact same excellent results.
