Millenium BD 100 Reviews
Sturdy little mike stand .I purchased this to put in a guitar iso cab i built, It is perfect for the job and good quality.Great service as always, speedy delivery.
Small, sturdy, does the job...for snare drums!
Sturdy, reliable, and without issue. Decent price too.
This is a great mic stand for getting that mic in a bass drum "tunnel" or as I use it for, a superb bottom snare mic stand.
It is not quite perfect for getting the bass drum mic really far "into" the bass drum hole as it is originally designed for. In this case, there are better (albeit more expensive) options available.
But this is my main bottom snare mic stand. It sits easily in front of the snare on the ground without getting in the way of the drummer and is height adjustable.
Really handy little stand for getting around the drum kit without getting too much in the way.
Great little stand
I use this stand as a Kick drum stand but during recording it can be easily used for Guitar cabinet mics. It has a good stability and it is well made. It has my recomendation.
Sturdy drum mic stand
Nice piece of kit. Used in all of my band formats - once in place, it stays there!!
Background: Robbie Darin acts (swing, rock & roll, easy listening, dance & party): - One-man show (with backing tracks), 3-5 piece lounge ensemble, 9-piece swing, dance and party band, and full 18-piece Big Band.
Piece of cake
Great little stand for a quick and unpretentious set-up. It probably can't hold the heaviest mics, but I would bet it can take quite a lot of weight for it's construction. That said, it's well made and durable.
Brilliant
This is a great little mic stand. SPECIFICALLY for bass drums, it has a small telescopc ability, just enough to get to the 'standard' hole position on a bass drum. It is very well made and very sturdy. Clever cantilver design means it does not take up much floor space.
Great piece of hardware I use this on all live gigs drum mic very secure on stand very tidy idea for tight spaces and super handy for storage and transporting. Real value for money!!!
Kick Mic Stand
This has to be the best kick mic stand I've used. Half the time with other stands, I've given up trying to get it set correctly and placed the mic in the drum body. With this stand it's set quickly and easily 100% of the time. Wish I'd had one of these years ago.
Good mic stand for reasonable price.
The big deal of this stand is the price. I use it for my kick drum in common with Shure Beta 52a and when I bought it I found that it is a little bit too tall for my resonance head hole because the Shure has its own arm which can't be shortened.
Millenium kick drum mic stand
This was the cheapest kick drum mic i could find on the internet and it works exactly like i would like it to it is perfect for my usage. It is small, made from metal with quality spinny things to make it go up and down by about 15cm. It cant be positioned higher than that which may be annoying for some but to most id think it should be fine. I also use this to mic up my guitar amp and it is the perfect height too. For such a cheap price you get a stand which will probably not break for 10 years and its great so get it!
Perfect for resonant head of kick drum, but has an annoying issue -
When trying to adjust this little stand we often find we end up taking it apart as the height adjuster is often tighter than the screw which connects the vertical piece to the legs. There is no way to 'lock' the legs to the vertical piece, we may resort to glue!
We did try using this stand for beater side micing, but found the legs got in the way and the microphone couldn't be placed as close as desired.
Does the job admirably
A very simple bit of kit, but incredibly useful - just the right height to hold a bass drum microphone outside the port of a kick drum, but also compact enough that it can be assembled in the drum itself. This is useful if you want a lot of attack and thump from the kick, and can be mixed with a large diaphragm condenser some way out in front of the drum kit for a more well rounded sound.
The simple construction means it will never collapse in the middle of a recording, and for the price I would struggle to recommend anything else.
Usefull
Very handy short stand for bassdrummics. It's very sturdy and well build, a great buy. If you don't need the boom stand then this is practicly the best thing you can buy.
Easy to use bass drum microphone stand
Extremely easy to use microphone stand for bass drum or small amplifier.
Due to it small size it can fit inside a bass drum, but that makes it prone to picking up vibrations. Best use I would say is in front of the bass drum or a small amplifier, possibly with a bit of carpet underneath to eliminate vibrations.
Good, solid, compact floor mic stand
I wanted a compact floor mic stand for a kick drum for live work on compact stages so that the guitarist and the singer wouldn't be falling over it all the time. This won't isolate from sound transmitted via the floor too well, but does exactly what is needed. Good value for money and it fits in the case with the drum mics.
Very sturdy stand.
This is a very handy sturdy stand and perfect for some uses. However this stand could do with the ability to extend a bit higher and also its not very good if you need to get your mic right into the hole of the front skin on the kick drum. This is still a good stand when used in the correct aplication.
Decent build quality, But to limited for my taste.
The over all quality if absolutely decent, it's make out of pretty heavy metal and I think, when placed successfully, it's great. But! The problem for me was that the stand is way to tall to be used with my drums.
A part of the problem is that the mic I'm using, the Shure SM52b, is pretty high by itself and used with the original built-in holder, it becomes way to high.
If you plan to use this with a holder that allows for more adjustments I'm sure you will be just fine using this stand. But check the total height of stand + mic before buying it.
Cheap but good.
This stand was easy to set up and assemble and is surprisingly sturdy considering it is an inexpensive item. It is also quite small so it doesn't get in the way. I'd recommend it for both studio and live work.
bd 100
This stand isn't the best stand I've used by a long shot but for the price its usuable. The problem I had with this stand is my drummer has a hole in his kick drum and it wasn't simple to mike it up and you cant put it far into the kick drum so you are restricted.
Mic Stand
This is perfect for my applications. I double it up as a kick drum mic stand and a guitar cabinet stand, and it works like a charm. There's very little in terms of adjustment but it's generally at the perfect height for any potential applications you may need it for. It's also unbreakable. No, seriously, you could drop this off the Empire State Building and it wouldn't break. Excellent value for money.
