MXL 770 5-stars Reviews
A microphone that has the guts for what it needs to do!
Made by Marshall, the amp company, it does have inside the quality that made that brand's reputation.
The high-quality FET pre-amp does its job well!
Being loved already by many, you can add me to that list.
The accessories are truly of decent quality. Rugged case too.
If you never had a condenser studio mic; then, go for this one!

I'ts realy great mic, I can say you can use it for many uses, clear voice, if you looking for a mic withe price it's realy good, if you looking for higher level Rode NT1 maybe it's good choise
Excellent!
This mic was bought as a part of home studio for vocal and strings recording. Was compared with AKG P120 and Rode NT1. No chance for this guys. Not wis this mic.
Universal in usage, flexible in settings, robust construction, vibrant live sound. The only weak place wit this mic is shockmount.
Crisp and clean vocal recording
Fantastic quality for the price. Recorded a vocal track on this which a studio engineer I spoke to claimed it was as good as anything he could get on his vastly more expensive mic.
Fantastic home studio microphone
This is an absolutely amazing value for money condenser microphone. Not only does it look amazing, but it also sounds amazing and has some nice features like a 0db pad and a low cut (high pass) filter if you need to cut out some bass.
When testing with acoustic guitar and vocals, the sound is very close to the source sound, which makes this microphone fantastic for the price.
The microphone needs phantom power to work, so make sure to pair it with an interface with good preamps and +48v of phantom power.
its a very good mic
Its a very good mic, I like it very much, i use it for vocal in studio.. it has great features such as attenuation and high pass filter.. I really like its sound
Great microphone
I bought this microphone for many reasons
-The Price
-The Features
This microphone did not disappoint. Have been using this microphone daily for two years and i have never had any issues.
The quality is great, and the addition of the shock mount and carry case is also a nice touch
Would highly recommend
Great microphone
I've tried this microphone with acoustic guitar, singing and voice over, it sounds great! The build quality and design is what caught my attention. Its matte finish looks great and the weight is satisfying. The case it comes in does the job and I can actually fit the microphone and a Zoom H1 V2 next to it, very handy to protect both products. Compared to a 40¤ microphone I bought, this is a big step up. No downsides whatsoever. Obviously, a way more expensive microphone would deserve these 5 stars more, but it exceeded my expectations.
best condenser mic if on a tight budget
This is one of the best - if not the best - cardioid condenser mics for people on a budget. Excellent for home studio. It is meant for recording vocals, acoustic guitar and even drums.
I've even tried it mic'ing my combo with an electric guitar and though a bit bassy, not bad actually...
First impressions were just overwhelming, just great tonal voice; remember to get a popkiller, and to spend some time with eq and arranging your recording room as it has a huge range and it may pick up unwanted sounds.
Pros
- price
-it comes with a shockmount and case
-really heavy
-quality (built like a tank)
- adjustable knobs for bass and -10db
-tonal definition
Cons
-the case quality is not great
-a bit bassy (but one can adjust the bass knob)
Overall, best cardioid condenser mic for a beginners home studio on a tight budget - great tone and it won't break the bank!
Good microphone for the price that is
This microphone is quite good for the price it is! I honestly say it was not expected that the microphone was so good, because of the price ... But just because he thought it was a good investment ... The voice came out very clean, no noise, has a good pickup ... I can not say it's the best microphone ever, but with a good sound card, you can say that you have a fairly reasonable quality.
MXL 770 is a mircle
Bargain for professional use. I m finally glad to experience a mic that everybody can afford and does its job perfectly. Its ideal for any studio use. Vocal, Percussion, Instrument you name it. Its a rappers delight for project studio, it produces very low noise when turned on, with a simple gate compressor you can have a very clean hook. It has low cut and -10dB option for additional flexibility.Notice: I also have 10x more expensive condenser mic in my studio, but when i compared it to this one there is so little difference! (tested with same takes, same singer, and ambience)
Stop looking for better option if you are on limited budget, you won't find it.. Buy this mic and start recording professional quality studio takes now. If i had an option buying this mic before the expensive one, i would save a lot of money and rather invest it somewhere else.. Marshal electronics did their job flawlessly! 6/5 stars
Fantastic mic for the price
I am not experienced or anything with sound gear, so take this review with a grain of salt; I wrote it as I have experienced it.
The features of the mic are what you expect, and the fact that it comes with a shockmount and a proper case for transportation is a big bonus.
The sound is great; even going through a budget ART Tube it sounds much better than my previous microphone(Blue Snowball), and this mic is more flexible although much more expensive in total.
The build quality in general seems extremely good, the -10db pad and bass-cut have some weight to them and therefore cause some noise if you have the mic on and start fiddling around with it. The shockmount is what'd be expected; I've owned it for a few weeks and has worked flawlessly, was very easy to set up.
In general I think this is a fantastic microphone, for the price at least.
