Rean NYS SPP-L1 4-stars Reviews
Good Value
Pros
-Good set of screws
-Inexpensive
Cons
-Wobbly construction
-Inflexible and tough to switch out connection modes
Does what its meant to do, some jacks make scratching noises
It works pretty much perfectly, but some jacks can make scratching noises when the connected cable is turned or moved, this seems to be most common with the most used jacks like the first couple outputs and inputs of your interface.
great budget solution
Professional patchbays are really expensive, this is great if you are on a budget!
Feels quite sturdy, the inserts feel a bit wiggly when you plug something in but I'm confident it is going to last me a long time without failing.
Does what it says
It's versatile and easy to use, the quality is.. meh.. it's a bit flimsy, but then, look at the price, great thing for the buck.
Good basic patchbay
I liked this enough to buy a second one. The best feature of this patchbay is the semi-normalling of the connections, which is quite handy for sending one signal to two places. The only minor point against is that construction is not 100% solid -- there is some movement of the connectors when plugging and unplugging, but it's never caused any issue for me.
Good patchbay
Solid build from Neutrik but mounting of cards is a bit hit & miss when inverting
Essential
I wish it had a switch for various modes like other patch bays do, but I feel this is more reliable. Not incredibly sturdy but it just sits in a rack.
cheap sturdy and still working
these just seem to work. good quality in general
I don;t consider needing anything else.
This product is rock solid.
Because of it's build style it's difficult to switch patch routes. But this also means that you can actually change only the broken modules on it without changing the whole unit.
The connections are really good and they feel sturdy. The movement of the modules make it seem cheap but it's not.
mmkay-ish
can t complain about anything at this price
good to use
If you need find the basic patchbay to use in home studio
this choise is good
Neutrik Rean NYS SPP-L1
Can be a bit of a pain changing the jack orientation, I found it easier to do with some cables connected.
Save a lot of hassle once set up.
Works well but lacks instructions
The way you select the working method for each channel is by changing the way the PCBs are placed, that is very easy to do and the graphics on top are easy to understand AFTER you search online for a proper manual, the "quick guide" that comes with it does not help much.
Comes with glue on strips to write what you have on each in/out and with rack screws although the screws are not diameter compatible with my rack.
Great Value For Money! Cheap and with quality enough to give good results in terms of audio connections in the studio. No noises and hums! Just not so soft on patching cables! I would say that is very suitable for the home studio! I'm satisfied and recommend if you are on a tight budget!!!
Very nice option when cost is a consideration
This is a very nice patchbay for the cost.
Once you get your head around the normalisation, you can easily manage a large setup if you set it up right.
Its very nice for setting up for example inputs to analog mixing desks, where you can use the normalisation to get microphones, instruments or outputs from your audio interface routed to where they have to go, without using cables at all. It is however not an option to break the normalisation without using plugs, which is my only complaint about this patchbay. I own 3 of these and i only have 1 input that sometimes has a little bit of trouble with its connection, but i suspect it to be normal wear and tear, from taking cables in and out often. :-)
Sturdy and functional
To be able to route my signals to various channels and fx, and to be able to change gear without having to get behind my (big) mixer, I use two of these patchbays. They're extremely well built and very easy to use. It takes quite a bit of force to push in or pull out the plugs, but that's okay. It adds to the sturdy feel of the patchbay.
Great general purpose patch bay
Was doing a studio install and there needed to be a way to easily change signal paths. I was drawn to these as they have neuter connectors. So you are pretty much guaranteed a good build and they didn't let me down. Really great price and allow balanced signal which you can switch between normal and parallel.
It really makes a simple studio setup much more flexible and being neutrik connectors means they can be easily fixed if there are any issues. I have had mine for around 2 years and its still working great! I would recommend this for anyone who wants to add flexibility to their setup.
Neutrik Patchbay
I have a few of these units in my small studio. I've had no faults with any of them to date. they are very good value but obviously they require a little thought to lay out as you have to take everything apart to change a modules signal flow. Given the price this is not a problem at all. The modules require you to be pretty forceful with your jack plugs but once you get used to this the build quality is excellent. A simple product which works exactly as you would expect.
