Rode M2 3-stars Reviews
Low-quality
Excellent superior sound, lower quality build from inside. The membrane holders broke after a few months of singing.
Membrane holders are his only weak spot, my friend by the same microphone at my recommendation and the same happens to his microphone, after few month of use.
Good quality mic
These condenser microphones are good quality, an expert in audio technology recommended me to buy them.
Connector is not standard
I have two of them and both experienced the similar issue: when the user touch the cable, it generated the static sound badly.
Then I found out I need to insert the blue rubber padding ring, which came with the mic. One of them solved the issue barely. The other one has no improvement, if not worse, at all.
I am using the same cable, XLR input for other mic she as Shure SM58, Sennheiser E-835, AKG C-1000 (also a condenser mic) without any issues so I am quite confident that is on the mic side rather than the cable / mixer side.
Not recommended for handheld applications.
