Good mic

High quality compared to the price

Great mic, great value

I bought this mic hoping to upgrade from my trusty Beta 58, and I was blown away at the improvement. Vocals are smooth, full and punchy, with a less pronounced proximity effect and much better off-axis rejection resulting in less feedback than the Beta on stage. All in all a better mic at roughly the same price.

Simply Excellent

Fully met expectations. Just had once an issue to explain to sound engineer that I need +48V Phantom power. Presume he was confused by look of mic (like dynamic)

The Rode M2 rocks!

I'm using this for live sound/recording applications. It gives a nice and crisp sound that required little editing thankfully. This saved me time and money. I have nothing to complain about. Really.

Really Good value for money

I watched a lot of video review about condenser mics and I finally find one that can fulfil my requirement. I used the mic for recording VO and it performs really well. The mic controls the room sound very well and it is not overwhelming the recording. The frequency response is similar to the curve provided by the manufacturer except the tiny bit of unpleasing high mid harmonics boost. The airiness added by the mic is good especially for vocals. With this price, the mic is above my expectation !!

Prefer this than 58

I have used Shure 58 but I prefer this mic than 58. Condencer makes this mic sound more senstive to me. Great for this price.

Very impressed

We use 4 of these for a mobile church in Romania in the building of the town philharmonic. 2 for male, 2 for female. Our worship leader was very impressed with these, after using SM58 for many many years.

The voice is full, the extended upper frequencies are noticeable.

It's a steal for such a low price.

CONS: sensitivity is on the low side, gain has to be turned high, but this is not a problem for our Midas preamps from a Midas M32C + DL32 mixer.

Warm sound and sturdy microphone

Does not color vocals that much, and voice sounds warm and loud. Really great condenser microphone particularly for that price. Highly recommended.

Excellent mid-range mic

You could do a lot worse for the price, as far as condenser mics go within its same price range, and Røde's excellent warranty leaves me at ease, that should anything ever happen to it, it'll be taken care of.

I have zero qualms about it.

Very happy - "My voice sounds like me"

I bought this because of the good reviews. Shipping was delayed by a few days and the doubts set in... But I really like this microphone - it's a big step up from the dynamic mics I've used (Shure, AKG - and I like AKG) and I find that "My voice sounds like me" which is nice.

an amazing microphone

I use this mic for my home studio and it sounds really good especially for the price.

Pros:

It sounds good and natural

Cheap

Has an on/off switch

Durable and feels good

Good at rejecting background noise especially for a condenser

Cons:

just a little bit low sensitivity

self-noise is a kinda high

I would recommend this mic if you want a condenser sound whether for live use or studio it will work great.

Michrophones.... All good but different

I'm ordered three mics, I'm write a small comparing:

- E 865 S - Really much detail, good dynamic, nice EQ resp

- RODE M2 - Good detail, less dynamic

- Senheiser e945 - Nice details, amazing eq resp, great dynamic

- Beta 58 - Less details than the e945 on high freq, boomy at low (I'm using this about 8years)

I know that these mics are mixed dynamic and condenser, so it's a little interesting feedback, but after I did a test recording with my voice, my EXACTLY best of these four, is the Senheiser E945.

All of the michrophones more than enough rough and perfectly assembled. The feedback was also not a problem.

The E945 has the whole advantages from the 3 others.

Great microphone. Incredible price.

Is not enough known for what can deliver. Should be more famous.

It's price should be double for what it can do. Highly recommended.

Use for Vocals in a Band

This is a very clear and powerful vocal mic that I use in a medium loud band. Not sure its quite as feedback proof as a SM58 but close. And the sound is crystal clear. The band is 40 valve and 100 ss loud so that gives you an idea of what the mic is up against (no feedback destroyer either)

Accuracy and strength from RODE

I've owned Shure Beta 58A and SM58 for more then 5 years and never thought I would jump ship. I thought why it's cheaper and has decent reviews I'll give it a try and if I don't like it I'll sell it. This mic is better sounding and appears to be as good if not better built. What I like most about it is the absence of the super high frequency somewhere around 14-16khz that the Beta 58a seems to produces. This has was a nice warm full spectrum tone but not muffled like a SM58. I've had no issues with feedback and its sits in a live heavy rock band mix perfectly. Built like a tank. Zero buyers remorse. I highly recommend it!!!

This is a wonderful microphone that offers clean sound with robust build quality.

If you are looking for a quality mic that can take the abuse of live shows and being tossed around on the road, look no further than the M2.
