Rode NT-USB Mini Reviews
A great product from rode
Easy to use USB Microphone
The Rode NT-USB mini is an easy to use microphone. You simply have to plug it in your device and you should be able to start recording. The sound of the microphone is fairly good and has the build quality of the Microphone is on par with other Rode Products.
I would recommend this product to people that don't necessarily want to invest a lot of money into a microphone setup, yet still want to have a good quality product.
I love it!
I am enjoying it - it's simple in usage, good recording quality.
INCREDIBLE
My partner wanted to record live signing in a little noisy environment and this Rode USB mic does it all! You can separate it in 2 parts and hold the mic in your hands or leave it in the holder. the built-in pop filter works very nicely.
You literally just plug it in your PC and that's it!
Good stuff
Inbuilt amp, incredible build quality, podcast mic quality, portable
Great for the price
Bought it as gift and it's sound great. Not so comfortable to change the input level with an app on pc, but for this price it's really lovely product!
Excellent, Easy to Use
Very good quality, a sturdy thing! Good price and works out of the box with all my devices: Win/Mac Laptops, iPhone, iPad.
I needed a good quality mike to use on Zoom/Skype/whatever meetings, also to communicate with band-members during a remote jam (Jamulus/SonoBus). It is a room microphone, i.e. captures your voice even from meters away.
It has a headphone output on the back which makes it a good desk solution.
Can be mounted on a stand, but I find the magnetic base excellent and use it, although I have a stand.
It has a direct monitoring function, which I am not using.
Only thing I am lacking is a mute button, if there was a large button on the top, it would have been a killer.
I can only recommend, I bought another one right after the first one.
perfect for home office
Very good mike , I use it mainly for office calls. It has small footprint and fits perfectly on your desk. Quality is very good, and it works also as a sound card, so you can plug your headphones directly to it. Headphones has volume control too.
Best Quality Desktop mic
I use this microphone as primary PC input device on online meetings and chatting with friends on Discord/Teamspeak. The clarity of the mic is second to none. My voice is my clearer compared to mic I was using previously and others cannot hear any audible background noise from the mic. the Mic sits roughly, 30cm from the edge of my desk, and the directionality of it is still good for capturing of Audio. the weight and the quality of the mic, should withstand a lot of usage and should last for a very long time.
The stand is made from metal and is very sturdy, the mic itself is made from premium material and has a sleek look to it.
Great product for the price
Excellent build, cool packaging and very straightforward to plug and use. The sound is very good for the price, I used this to record a bunch of demos and I will still use it for video calls. Looks very stylish on any desk.

+ Excellent quality recording

- No pop shield option. You may still put one, but on a separate handle.
amazing microphone
the microphone sounds crisp and clear, very pleased with it
Plug & play improvement
Microphone works as a USB sound device. Really as simple as plugging it in, waiting a few second and you're good to go. Normal minijack headphones plug in to the back and there's a potentiometer on the front to control their volume. Very simple, no need to read the manual.
The improvement over the standard computer microphone and a generic USB headset is remarkable. Sound quality significantly improved for interviews and conversations, with much more clarity and detail in the recording. No issues with wind or background noise.
The microphone is much more compact than you would expect from the pictures, it really is a small device which easily fits on your desk with its small footprint. It is quite heavy for it's size, and the stand looks a bit flimsy at first, with it's magnetic connection to the mic, however this is absolutely not an issue and holds the device very well.
It does what it's made for very well, but might run in to challenges when upgrading. It doesn't seem to be compatible with a dedicated mic stand, it only has a minijack connector which is on the back (not the handiest place). But highly recommended for a straigtforward improvement over standard computer sound!
Best mic with an affordable price
The mic construction is really good, The sound is awesome, I have bought it for my home office to use this mic in meetings and the results are awesome. The only issue with the mic is that it is very sensible and catch also low volume ambient noise but I'm really happy with the purchase.
Can't Fault This Mic
I purchased this mic for use on conference calls (Skype, Zoom & Microsoft Teams) as well as for creating Video/Podcast content.
In all respects it works perfectly - simple plug and play connection on my laptop and using the camera adaptor for my iPhone. The audio is crisp, clear and full.
I especially like it's smaller size as it fit's nicely on my desk, easily adjustable with the magnetic stand and picks up audio clearly from any angle.
studio quality for dummies
I use it for video streaming and teaching. It is compact and very easy to use. It sits gracefully on the desk. It's beautifully designed and more importantly it is a huge step up in quality compared to the microphone that comes with camera's for videostreaming. You could off course use a studio microphone and a dedicated sound card but it would take up more space and cables, cost you a lot more, and wouldn't make a big difference in sound quality. If it is mainly voice you want to record in front of a computer, I don't think you could do better for this price. A no-brainer to my ears and wallet.
The headphone out is also of good quality. When not recording, it makes for enjoyable listening when streaming music. It is a much better amplification and DA conversion than the standard outputs of a regular sound card.
My only niggle is that I would like it to have a switch that mutes the microphone. Maybe something for the NT-USB 2. Revolutionary!
Perfect little microphone.
I really like this mic.
I'd like to first praise the following: having instant feedback about what the microphone is receiving is a god-send when using in-ears and on, say, a video-call. I vow not to ever again not have realtime monitoring output of my mic.
Worthy of mentioning: this is powered over USB, and whatever noise you get in the power input you'll get it on your monitoring too (not on the signal transmitted back to the PC). I noticed this by plugging the mic to the monitor's USB hub (which then goes to the desktop). Turns out it's a noisy +5V circuit, and this creates ungodly crackling on the monitoring port.
And it's digital crackling, rather than the usual analog noise that is very similar to white-noise.
Please be aware of that sensibility, and don't route your USBs near power circuitry :)
