good for house recordings

rode is really famous brand, and they make good stuff, but you need to pay a little more to get a real rode sound quality.

NT1-A is good mic for not so serious recordings. the sound is flat and poor compared to the akg in the same price range (p220).

i have both of them, and the akg is better in every way (sound, and switches for example)

pop filter is ok, but there is no bad pop filter i think, so there is not much to talk about.

it really is quality made mic and it will last for years, but for me, the sound is not very satisfying...

Nice and nt too expensive!

I use it for voice and drum recording.

It has very clear sound in vocals, so i am satisfied.

I use it for drum overhead and room mics, it has good enough sound, but not perfect for this, besides for vocal recording i can recommend it!

The material's quality is awesome, included the shock mount too. The connectors have got gold cover, so there is no contact problems.

Amazing

Tested in vocals, and the job was wonderful. but what got my mind blown away is that is works just as good on low freq acoustic instruments (cello, even trombone) and it was just as good

excellent for its price

I am very satisfied with this product. I tested a lot of microphones in this price range but Rode nt1a gave me the best results.

Good choice for me!

This was a good invest for my home studio. Microphone for me is great and I am happy for buying it. I don't know much about microphones yet but for my trumpet recordings it is really good, it sounds natural.

Does exactly what it says it will

The Rode NT1-A is my first "decent" studio mic (swapped out my Superlux 205) so I might not have the experience to fully appreciate it. Nevertheless I can strongly reccommend it to anybody who is looking for a great mic at a budget friendly price.

It had no distortions, no noise, clear and crisp vocals (also tried it on a grand piano and the result was amazing; looking forward to trying it on an acoustic guitar), beautiful to look at and simply a wonderful piece of tech to have in a home studio.

One small thing about the Phantom Power for this microphone as well- it also worked with only 15V Phantom (and the recording sounded smooth as silk). Although as soon as I got the chance to use it with 48V, the results were ten times more amazing.

Great Microphone

I recently used this microphone to complete a project for college and the results were outstanding. The vocals were definitely one of the stand out parts in the recording. No ambient noise issues at all and no clipping. The mic is well made and feels pretty solid as well. For the budget it definitely holds up to it's pricier rivals.

Excelent

Without a doubt the best you can get for the price range but dont let it fool you. Even though it is quite cheap the sound recording quality is outstanding! It also looks slick and professional, i guess those are good things too

Ideal micro for voice

Very high quality of the materials and sound. Nothing to regret, on the contrary.

Rode NT1-A Complete Vocal Recording

RODE is awesome compay, I must say, I was expecting that quality, because, you know, its RODE.

The mic is silver, all metal. Feels heavy and look well built. No flaws or blemishes.

All comes in a box good packed, with rode CD (for some instructions and use) and you also get written instruction not only about specs and technical thing, you get instruction and tips about recording process with this mic too. It says where is best to position it, if you are recording vocals, or acoustic guitar, or drums etc.

It has 1 year warranty, but guess what. You can extend it online, and you get 10 YEARS WARRANTY!! WOOOW. Who gives a 10 years warranty?

So, you get: condenser microphone, shock mount, pop filter, CD, written instructions and manual.

All in all, very good quality condenser mic. Also, i have to mention, this is very low noise mic.

Great for voice and acoustic recording

Bought this mic to record voice and acoustic guitar ? works great. Has a pop-shield and a shock-mount which is useful if you don't have any of these yet. Given the price and everything included ? I think it's a great buy for beginners looking to step into more professional territory.

I compared recordings from NT1-A to a Shure SM57 and Sennheiser e906. Latter two are dynamic mics, but work okay for voice recording. I found NT1-A has more natural voice recording (closer to the original voice I heard), slightly brighter than I expected but totally understandable for a vocal mic. Note, that NT1-A requires phantom power, so make sure your mic pre-amp has one.

Bottomline:

I found the recording totally fine ? no hiss or noise. Overall, it's a great, very safe buy.

Am I the only one?

I sold it. Yeah the biggest selling mic ever. I can see what they're getting at, I expected it to sit alongside a mix vocal-wise ad it did but I found the sound a bit 'soapy'. does that make sense?..and it's also disarmingly light..I would not choose this mic to defend myself with.

Having said all that the presentation and the solid pop filter/cradle etc are superb.

Truth be told I sold all my mid range 150 quiddish mics and got a Neumann TLM 103 and a very decent ribbon mic...and a few decent drum and guitar mics..I got fed up with 'average'..

So now it's 'Do it once, do it good'. Best decision I ever took..expensive..I now live in a cardboard box but I don't regret it.

Excelent

For the price range, this was exactly what I wanted! I'm really happy with the order, the sound quality is soberb for what I was looking for and it combines perfectly with my Scarlett 2i4.

Excellent bundle package

First thing I bought when setting up a home studio. It's incredibly mobile for when I want to record elsewhere. It's really helpful to have a package that supplies everything you need. It's a great microphone for the money, and incredibly versatile. Of course, you may want to spend more money on a microphone further down the line but I think you'd struggle to get a better mic for the money. The stand is perhaps the only item that I would consider buying separately. It's fine for now but I can't imagine it lasting ten years or so.
