Excellent microphone proven to last

I have used this microphone in a multitude of applications over the years and I decided to finally buy one for myself.

Perfect for close proximity vocals/loud vocals and live performances. Super sturdy and heavy as it is can take a lot of beating and still work for years. No rattling or looseness in this microphone, so your recording performance will be free of sound artifacts caused by moving the microphone. I have also experimented with it recording high gain electric guitars with a lot of success. I would not recommend it to vocalists that are into genres like opera or more open vocal applications as it does not perform well if the distance from the microphone starts increasing beyond a certain point. One more strong point of this microphone is that it will ot pick up ambient sound the way a large diaphragm microphone will, so you will be able to record in environments that are not soundproofed/relatively loud with substantial success. In conclusion this microphone is a legend and there is a reason why a HUGE number of artists choose the

Shure Beta 58 for live performances. It's reliability, quality, sound and price make it an extremely attractive option (even for "pro" applications).

Great workhorse

I always reach for a Beta 58 on vocals. I find it a great, reliable workhorse that never disappoints on any voice. Durable, nice solid weight to hold and just that extra sparkle over an SM58. 20+ years of using them and I always come back to them as a standard for me. I love a Neumann KMS105 but find they don't suit every vocal, and I've never been happy with any of the Sennheiser e865/e835/e945 etc. Buy as many as you can.

Goto Live vocal mic

Amazing sound and great build quality with out a stupid price.

Whilst these are not the cheapest pro Mic out there they are a huge step up from the sm58. the claims about feedback rejection are true and they are strong.

Vocals sound good and clear, have had no complaints from bands when using them.

will continue to use these for a long time and have trust they will last a long time. a good investment.

Probably the best microphone I have ever used!

It is no coincidence that this mic has been used by singers like Myles Kennedy, Cornell and Axl..!

Best value for money choice

I finally bought the Shure Beta 58 A after having used borrowed ones for a long time for playing gigs. Very reliable choice, never had a problem. The sound is nice and clear, the structure really solid and it seems more than adequate for beginner to semi-professional musicians at a reasonable price. I'm perfectly satisfied.

Did not work for me

i don't know why shure mic's don't work for me, shure sm 58 and now this both just don't suit my voice. But to someone else these might be great choises. I guess we are all just different.

I will stay a beyerdynamic guy.

"The every live event" vocal microphone.

Exceptional quality and sound, very durable, very good looking and very reliable. I use it for vocals live and occasionally for some studio work. My voice is low and I find this mic the perfect for me. IMO the best possible quality for the price.

Best microphone

Our lead female singer bought it. We use it for acoustic songs and also for rock. In few weeks of trying is she very very happy with it and she cant stop telling how is it good. we also used it for recording and it came ou just perfect.

so, if you are looking for good microphone which can you use everywhere and everytime is this absolutley the best option.

Price is a little high, but its worth it.

Industry Standard For A Reason

If you're buying this mic, you know exactly what you're going to get. Every venue from your 100 cap clubs to Wembley Arena has at least one of these probably.

If you're a vocalist and want to start taking your own mic with you to your gigs (and avoid all the disgusting germs on the house mics!) this is the perfect mic to start with. No sound guy should complain if you ask to plug one of these in. Maybe get a regular Shure 58 as well in case the sound guy isn't great with on stage monitors and you're getting feedback from them (do a quick Google of the mic's polar responses and you'll understand what I mean). Really though this mic will do the job for 99% of any situation you're in as a vocalist.

Also does a good job on guitar amps and can be used as a snare mic too!

Good versatile mic that will sort you out in most live situations (and it'll take a good beating too!)

It can be used in the studio too but I wouldn't recommend it on vocals if you have the option of other vocal specific microphones.

Best microphone for live gigs

Use: I am using the microphone for live gigs, which I have it every weekend. I do around hundred gigs every year on different parties and I use it for singing and speaking. That is the best microphone for live gigs.

Clarity: The microphone is the best for singers and speakers. It provide a good spectre, a really nice picture in every place, where you use it. I have not been disappointed since I am using it. Sound that is provided by that microphone is amazing.

Pros: For that amount of money, you can not get better microphone. Of course there are some other producers, which are also good, but that microphone is powerful, really robust, with amazing live performances.

Cons: No cons at all.

Comprehensibility: It si microphone that is mostly used by all sort of musicians, amateur and professional, so that it the main thing to tell about his quality! Professionals, who have money to spend for other microphones are using Beta 58, they are singing in front of thousands of people, so it is amazing product from shure!

Further information: Every singer, who wants really good microphone for live gigs should have that microphone!
