Great mic

This is my main stage mic and I love its simplicity as well as the sound and feel. I would have liked perhaps and on/off button but I can live without it. It has a round sound, very balanced and I can get both highs and lows out of it to my satisfaction. I tried in the past on the regular basis SM57 and for my taste the 58 Beta is superior in sound.

Very sturdy piece of equipment, so it seems because I never encountered "accidents" to see what happens with mine. It looks like it can take e beating.

My best friend!!

I spent weeks debating with myself as to buy the shure beta 58a or the seinheisser e925? I eventually went with the Shure and I am happy I did, such a clear prestine sound and the durability is just top class when it comes to these microphones

I feel that the sound is full, rich and detaild.

The Microphone is very well build and it came with a cover bag that is very usefull.

Just that little but better than the SM58

Bought as a present for my wife who just loves that extra little presence peak around 2.2kHz for the slightly better tone and clarity it gives her voice. And it's a Shure so it should last forever no matter what mistreatment it might get. I made the mistake of letting someone else use it and being told that it was hers and nobody else could even look at it. Real Spinal Tap moment.

Very pleased

This microphone stands extremely well at all my live situations.

Great sound, dynamics and not so many feedback.

Drop it accidentally couple of times and still working without any issue.

Excellent vocal mic

One of the true best mic's I have ever tested. A must have for the dedicated vocalist! Good for studio and good for live gigs, and I have used it outdoors with success too.

Industrys best workhorse

If you´re going to settle with just one type of microphone, the Beta58 must be the one. With a bit of tweaking, this mic does the job on virtually anything from vocals to guitars. Even used it on a kick drum once..!

Maybe not the best sounding microphone all the time, but it actually sounds really nice in most configurations, especially considering the price..!

Robust, decent sounding och most vocals and really good gain before feedback.

Favourite dynamic mic!

Very smooth sound, rather like a more refined SM58. Great live or in the studio! Also incredibly durable, as you'd expect from Sure. You could give it a good beating and it will sound just as good as it did the first time you used it!

Still the best

What can I say. Still the best microphone. Great sound. Only, I miss the switch.

Beta for avoiding feedback

You can't really go wrong with an SM-58 for live vocal work. The Beta SM 58 A has better feedback rejection but otherwise sounds the same as a standard SM-58. Highly recommended if using PA speakers placed so you can monitor or for conventional monitor systems. Another bonus is there seems less spill over from the back line reaching the mic.

Brilliant mic

Shure beta sm58A its an awesome unbreakable mic. Has a very clean sound and its very solid. I'm using this mic almost every day and I was playing few gigs already with him. BY accident I made a drop test a couple of times and nothing happened to this mic at all. Not even scratch on it. This microphone has an increased sensitivity and extended frequency response, resulting in a more pure sound and having more details. The Beta 58A has a supercardioid directivity, which gives it greater resistance to unwanted noise and susceptibility to the occurrence of feedback. Honestly its a very good mic and specially for that price. I will recommend Shure beta SM58 A to every musician who looking for really good tool to record and to use in the live shows!

A really good mic!

First of all, it's really important to try as many microphones as possible. It really does depend on the voice. I study music and sometimes, in class, we share microphones and while mine suits me perfectly there are other people who just don't sound as good as with their own microphones.

So, from the point of view of fabrication, quality, power... I have to say it's one of the best microphones at this price range. I really find it's a fantastic microphone and I am really really happy I bought.

Then for the sound, as I said, it depends on the voice. It's perfect for me. While the Shure 58 made me sound quite nasal and plane, this one makes my voice sound amazing (I was even surprised!). The lower notes sound very very beautiful and it gives colour to my voice.

I really recomend you all try it!

The best for the money.

We've used them all, every brand, every model, over the years. For vocals, the Beta 58A can't be beat. It doesn't suffer from the boominess that the regular SM58 displays when used too closely, and the crispness of the vocal sound has to be heard to be believed. It's also about 3db (2x the perceived volume) louder then the "ordinary" SM58, and it has improved resistance to feedback over the SM58 also. I know it sounds like I'm bashing the SM58, but I'm not really, it's just the one that's most easily compared to the SM58 Beta. There are other very good mics on the market also, but for sheer roadworthiness and durability Shure are the best (look how many battered old Shure's are out there, still going strong).

Definitely our favourites!

The best Metal Microphone

Our front singer was looking for a new microphone to get more transparence and volume for his voice. The Shure Beta 58 A is perfect for a louder rock or metal band and really supports the singers presence in the mix!

Satisfiead!

I have bought first SM58 to try it out and then I was not so satisfied with it so I bought this beta 58A and it has really have differences between the two. In my opinion, I will vote for beta 58A. So if you are planning to buy a microphone for the first time, I would say spend a few bucks and go for this one!

Never let me down

Now, im not going to get all technical with this write up since you can get that stuff anywhere. This is just my experience in using this mic.

Everything about it just bleeds quality. It is completely robust and has a fantastic weight to it which makes it feel like a true quality item. The socket on the bottom it perfect and grips the cable tight for a very secure connection.

I find it really easy to get a great sound on my voice with this microphone and the quality is very bright yet warm. I dont feel as though I need to put much gain on the desk when using this mic as it seems quite sensitive.

I would definitely recommend at least trying this thing at least once. Truly professional in looks, feel and sound.

excellent

Sound is just incredible. No problems whatsoever. Very robust, well built and top notch.

Important is that the sound is very clear. I've been using this mike for over four months so far and it's been a good deal.

Use this for live vocals and in recordings. Its rugged design makes it durable and easy to use. Its a dynamic microphone so you wont need phantom power, just attach it to amp or audio interface with a professional microphone cable and enjoy,
