Shure SM57 LC Reviews
The mighty SM57
I mean, do I have to get started with this mic?
This is the industrial standard. This microphone has been used on pretty much every classic record, and still is used today. It just works on any instrument and any amp. Just a wonderful mic and easy to use.
Apsolute hero!
Classic Industry Standard
Bought a couple of these for all round instrument and vocal studio and live work. Solid and dependable.
Good for recording homemade sounds
I use the SM57 to record percussive sounds in my house, and they just work great with it.
I know they're made specifically for instruments, but I also recorded my voice with it and, if I manage not to blow inside the microphone, it's good for voice as well
Amazing mic, just like expected
I have recorded both guitar and piano with this mic with amazing results, in very badly treated rooms. The work needed in post for piano might be a little bit more, still, for something I bought for general use it fulfils its job
El producto es ejemplar, nada que envidiarle a productos mucho mas costosos que brindan la misma calidad. Una gran inversión, imposible no tener de estos en tus micrófonos de grabación de estudio
Does exactly what i want, because i use it accordingly.....
Wasn't even gonna leave a review here, thought it would be a 100% 5 star review story, but i see a few 3 and 4's, they seem unfair for this microphone when it was purchased by mistake, and they say their review is trying to help others not make the same mistake.
Just to clarify, this microphone is well known, its excellent for live and studio recordings, drums, vocals, brass and guitars, both electric and acoustic, it works best in loud situations, its not a microphone used to pick up very soft low levels, i've never ever heard or seen anyone saying it's a great microphone for low level recordings. The build quality is also excellent, and while it could be called the jack of all trades, its actually on par with far more expensive microphones in some areas, for instance the snare drum.
Knowledge is important when buying and reviewing music equipment, there isn't really a one stop microphone that can do every type of recording the best, you ideally want a varied selection of different types that excel in 1 or 2 areas, and for the price the Shure SM57 is the best value for money mic you can buy, and it still gets used in high end recording studios. Its not just a really good microphone to start out with, many people buy it who own expensive condenser or ribbon microphones already.
Classic Shure vibe
There is a lot of small talk about this mic and its brother the SM58 as being out dated. That being said this is a great mic both for vocals and more so for recording guitar. I use this mic live and in the studio to mic my Marshall cabinet with excellent results. Want that classic sound use Shure SM57.
Great Quality and Classic Sound
Just a classical, great for guitar, drums and even voices.
I love my SM57.
It looks like will last forever
solid like a rock and still modern.
Probably the most used Mic in the business.
Great, timeless bit of kit.
i love 57s
just a simple microphone you can use in almost every situation
Input levels very low
Plugging in a Focusrite I have to crank the input gain close to the max to have reasonable levels for both speech and acoustic guitar. Sound quality is nice, but at this gain level noise starts to creep in. Probably works well if you are singing or micing amps.
Tried and true.
The industry standard work horse, why mess with a solid option.
the classic
This is the micrpohone probably for every possible recording situation. Be it guitar, bass, snare or even vocal. It can do anything. You can't go wrong with SM57. It is used in million dollar studios alongside with 2-3k mics. It is classic that will do the job. Built quallity and sound is aboslutely outstanding for the price.
Solid workhorse microphone
Legendary microphone for a reason. This thing is built to last, feels super solid and has great sound. Comes with a nice bag to keep it in.
a classic
sturdy, dependable, go to option for recording electric guitar!
Industry standard
This (instrument) microphone is thé standard used all over. Next to the SM58, you almost find this microphone on every stage; it can be used for a very wide range of instruments. A very reliable microphone!
the perfect guitar cab mic!
I use this with a Sennheiser 421 on a Marshall cab, never a problem.
Great mic, robust and quite cheap!
Excelent mic
I like it use for micing guitar amps.
Classic Microphone
Iconic microphone and a total studio warhorse!
