Amazing recording sound for guitar

Although this mic is suggested to record drums mainly, I have to say I did not find a better sound on recording my guitar with this mic. Very clear and natural sound

Tight for live sound

Was really pleased with this mic for a live gig. Used on the hihat but I think it would suit anything that needs high end clarity or fast attack such as percussion.

Robust

It doesn't sound like a Neumann 184 but it does the Job! and it is robust like a tank!

better than it looks

Realy graet for hihats, i tried with brashes too (not bad) and i will try it for acoustic guitar recording as an aditional mic. The only issue is that the holder is very hard to fit (you think that will broke).

Nice mic for acoustic guitar

It's my first attempt recording an acoustic guitar as an amateur, so my opinion is worth what is worth. The mic comes with it's own case ad looks well crafted. The acoustic guitar recording - captured with a Focusrite Scarlett Solo - sounds bright and clear.

the only issue was with the mic holder, the one they sent me was too small. Not a big deal though.

i love it

Bought 4 of them to test them on an event.Used them on 2 classical guitars and the other 2 as OHs' on an acoustic drum kit. I'm very pleased by their performance ,and even the quality of the mic is pretty great.

Bought two of these

These are the best kept secret in the microphone world. I bought two, they?re very useful, really discreet and solidly built, they have really great sensitivity on high end frequencies.

Great little hihat mic!

I bought this for hihat micing at small shows, and it does exactly what it was intended for!

Another bargain little gem of a mic. Ultra portable small hihat mic that I use for live, often with a clamp for space saving. It sounds pretty good, needs a bit of EQ to sound right - HP filter up to around 400hz solves most issues.

For such a cheap price, it is the perfect hihat mic for small live rock shows where you wouldn't necessarily want to use your best mics!

Take a pair of them, now!

Amazing little microphone with clean and detailed sound. I was surprised, how versitale they are. First, I bought a one, then a few months later another one, so I can use them as a stereo pair. Thery are robust and good looking too IMO.

P.s.: They are amazing on classical guitar!

A nice condenser mic overall

This microphone from Superlux again gathers suspicion with its low-low price, but once again they prove that quality doesn't always mean money. This condenser mic is especially marketed for hi-hats, and indeed does not sound all too bad on them. Brings a nice shimmer and clearly enhances the sound of just letting the overhead capture the hi-hat.

Another great use for these is on acoustic guitar. I bought another just to record my acoustic in stereo and find myself usually going for these when there is a need to lay down some acoustic tracks. Clean, clear and crisp sound. But mind you, they are quite responsive and do pick up everything, like fret noise or mic-stand bumps, so think twice about placing them on loud targets or in situations where they might pick up unwanted sounds. They do feel quite robust for the small size and are really compact to take around. Also nice golden colour, they come with a soft pencil case like carry bag. Yet to try the stereo pair as drum overheads, but definitely gonna experiment with that as well.

Overall with this price, they are surely worth it to have around.

This is a GREAT mic!!!!

- It hears everything and there is no problem for all frequencies!!!

- I used it many times and did a great job!

- At live perfomance, if you set its channel volume to a level a little bit lower than the level that it starts to feedback then you will have so loud and crystal sound which your audience is going to love!!!

- Excellent for all the kind of organs, guitars, violins, trumpets, drums and even for theater purposes!!!

- Depending of the stage and the concert place, for live perfomance, you can low a little bit one or two frequencies, using the parametric eq of your console or from external eq and then you can increase the channel's level even more in order to get an even more strong signal and the sound remains great!

- I managed very easy to get a great strong signal from 8 mandolins using 2 of these mics at a live stage with monitors on stage without feedback at all and the mandolin's sound in the hall was very very strong despite that the mics were about 1,5 meters away from the mandolins! Behind the mandolins were a 50 person choir with some mics, a soloist with a dynamic mic and a keyboard so I had to have a strong signal from the 8 mandolins in order to be heared clearly!!! (The mandolins were situated on the stage at a half circle for every 4 of them so I had 2 teams of 4 mandolins each.

- Its price is too low for what it can do!!!

What a great surprise!

For just about 30 euros i didn't expect much of this mic. It is however simply wonderful. I'm using it for recording hi-hat and it does a great job. It's cheap, really easy to use and sounds awesome ... what more can you want ?

Neat,good value..

My first Superlux, bought on a whim, was the original round 628 to hang off a combo and I find it compares really well with Senn606 and SM57 and after some misgivings so do the engineers who've been asked to substitute it for house 57's... ...so hoping for similar quality for home recording bought this stick for use on the kit....again,its remarkably decent and I would see no need to upgrade for home studio use....very good sounding, dependable mike...to me a better sound than even a good quality general purpose dynamic like an SM57 for this application..

Never used it on acoustic...probably just as well given my inept acoustic playing....

Kudos also to Superlux for including quite reasonable clips and stands with a lot of their products, again very helpful for home use....

Verdict...buy this for kit use and use the savings for a high quality vocal mike!

NB I'm starring this at its price point,I'm not implying its up there with the high end mikes for professional recording studios...for what I was prepared to pay for occassional home recording use,I'm delighted with it!
