Favourite Pedal on my board

its a great tool for songwrtitng or just practising scales and soloing. there is no complicated controls on it. press once to record press again to start playback. the 5 minutes of recording is more than i ever need and the unlimited overdubs allows you to create really complex layers to your loop.

Almost a great pedal

I wanted a looper to enhance my show. like performing 'Wish you were here' by Pink Floyd for instance. I wanted to be able to play the opening, quiet bit of that song and let that play back while I played over it with the lead section. The pedal was 'almost' exactly what I wanted. While I like the very clean throughput of the signal from the guitar through the pedal and on to the PA, I found the double click action to stop the loop very difficult to manage. I know they were trying to make this a very simple to use pedal - just one button and an output volume control, but I think they failed to make it simple enough to be really great. Double clicking with your foot to stop the loop - no thanks. It just messes with my rhythm every time. Also, the long press to clear the loop is is fine, but, it plays back for just a second before it clears. This is terrible for live performance and a really big glich as far as I'm concerned. It's a pity, they almost got it right.

Simple and effective

I bought this pedal to practice at home. Simple, well built, great sound quality in my opinion. Does not have many bells and whistles but does its job perfectly. It is a bit small so it needs to be placed on a flat surface. I would definitely recommend it!

No instructions.

This was a present, so can't comment myself, but my husband tells me all is good. Only downside was the lack of instructions, he had to go online and download some. A lot smaller than expected.

amazing amazing amazing

I can't believe what this pedal can do for the price. Unlimited overdubbing and no degradation in the quality of my tone at all. The controls are easy enough to learn and i was comfortable with it within a day. I'll definitely be buying more of these pedals.

Simple as it gets.

This is the first looper I've ever bought and used. Tricky double tap to stop the loop and extra output for an external switch would be a great bonus. Simplicity at its best. Small size is slightly off putting though on darkened stages. This is a great entry level to loopers pedal.

everything you'd hope for

does exactly as it says on the tin - no fuss looper with top sound quality. well made. simple, and even manages tens of loops with ease - clear distinction between loops. would buy another straight away if stolen or lost, simple as that

Looping how it should be. Easy and intuitive.

Hey fellow musicians,

This review will be about the TC Electronic Ditto.

First things first:

I use it live, at jams and for myself. It is reliable and good sounding.

It is my first looper ever. I plugged it in and was familiar with it right away. No instructions necessary.

It is a natural way of composing and finding ideas. It definetly helped me with that.

Handling:

The handling is easy. The one-knob design simplifies everything. No unnessesary s*it. Just a tap button and volume knob.

Features:

Everything you will need. Enough record time for every need.

Personally I don't like 9v blocks, I take care of my pedals with daisy chaining/power supply. A missing place for battery is not a contra for me.

One thing that is not bad, but a bit sad from time to time: When you have made a great loop, there is no build in saving function. But this is no real con, because in these times, you can easily record nice loops with your smartphone or something else.

Sound:

Great. Nothing bad to say yet. Gets a bit loud with 8+ layers. No problem though.

Quality:

Nice and solid.

Overall this is a great tool for creative guitarist, who like to compose on the fly and easily.

I do recommend it! Give it a shot.

Enjoy music.

Fantastic Loop Pedal

As I've come to expect from TC pedals this is a great little loop pedal. My mates could not believe the small size of this great piece of gear. It is worth it for size alone.

To make loops that adhere rhythmically is always a hard task. The button on this pedal is very easy to switch quickly and you can create in-time loops with no dodgy tempo issues. Deleting loops and starting again is also very easy.

Sound quality is immense and you can loop layers upon layers for ages.

The volume of looped sound is controlled by the knob and is a very handy feature.

So simple, sounds great

Love this little pedal, sounds great, very simple to use. I like to set a loop then go and listen to the guitar sound through the front of house. Even on a gig where I don't need the looper, I don't mind having it on the pedalboard as it's so small and light.

Simple and effective

Finally someone created a looper that you can just turn on and use. Thank you TC!

The simplicity is really the big selling point for this pedal. If you want something that you can use without fiddling with a bunch of knobs and that you don't need to read a long manual in order to use then definitely get this.

A tiny looper.

Before I bought this, I had never even tried looping. I mainly bought it to be able to do some drone, but it turned out to be way more versatile than that.

The box is tiny, it's even smaller than I thought the pedal would be, and this thing literally can't NOT fit on your pedal board. It is tiny.

Looping in itself takes i little bit to wrap your head around, but once you do, it's the easiest thing ever. If you start your loop on the first beat, just press the switch when the first beat should start repeating. Removing and adding overdubs is a breeze, and literally anyone could do this.

The weight of this thing seems just right. It's not so light that you fear breaking it, but it's just heavy enough to sit good on your board. The switch has a very special feel to it, almost linear with a tiny audible click once it switches. This could feel weird at first, but it is really good to help you be perfectly on beat. I've been told most TC electronic switches are like this though, some like it, others don't. For me it works fine, and there isn't really any fear of breaking the switch.

The knob could possibly be called a bit plastic-y, but I can't really complain. It works for what it is intended, and gives a good grip. The LED comes in handy to know in what mode you are if you ever lose touch with the outside world.

In general it is a great tool to help you develop as a guitar player. Want to try out a new scale? No problem. Want to make noise? No problem. This is perfect to keep you on time, to practice lead stuff and to just jam out an amazing riff.

my new little friend

The TC Electronic Ditto Looper is a nice little gadget for jamsessions with yourself.

This pedal comes with only one control know, used for the Loop Level and a bypass button. Having just this knob and the bypass button makes its use quite simple. Recordings as well as the stop and deleting of these loops is made by the bypass button. These are the only possibilities offered by this pedal, but it is definitely enough for practice or fixing quick ideas. With its small size it fits perfect in every guitar bag and does not take much space on your pedalboard. Definatley a nice little gadget for quick loop ideas.

It just works

It does what it says on the tin - really simple to use and great quality. I would have liked to record from the usb port, but that's what the ditto 2 buys you I guess.

recommended - especially at the price.

Does what it says on the tin

Small simple and good quality, sits in my amps effects loop happily which is more than I can say for cheaper loopers I have had in the past. If you are happy with the minimal controls then look no further.

the simplest looper pedal you can have

It's a really easy to use. One knob for the output level. One footswitch for controlling the pedal.

5 minutes recording time, it's enough for almost every song, i think.

you can make unlimited numbers of loops.

great for practice at home, you can easily make song structures and solos with this pedal.

Good

This small thing is a great loop pedal, great quality and sound. Is very easy to use and allows me to play alone without the need of another guitarist, also is very small so you can take it with your everywhere.

Simple to use, infinite possibilities

It is incredible what such a simple and well design device can add to your guitar journey...

Recording your own loops isin my opinion way superior to readily available backing tracks. It forces me to constantly work on my timing and rhythmic skills. “Writing” your own chord progressions is also a good way to put in practice some simple concepts of music theory.

I record my scales practice with it from time to times in order to judge my regularity and clean some of the unwanted sloppiness that I am guilty of.

Of course, It will never fully replace the joy of a jam session with a mate, but like a great philosopher once said “You can’t always get what you want!”

Too bad the recorded loops cannot be easily exported.
