tc electronic Ditto Looper Reviews
Small and handy
General:
The ditto is a very fine looper.
With its true bypass it does not interfere with the sound.
You can do any number of loops as long as you stay within a five minute time frame.
Product design:
The ditto has a solid metal housing.
Its switch is very easy to press but it takes a while to get used to its functions.
Only one switch for all functions result in:
1 press: start recording
1 press: stop recording and start looping
2 press: stop loop
As it is too small to fit a battery in it you need a power supply.
Verdict:
I can definitely recommend this product.
There are no unnecessary switches or buttons. Everything is as simple and functional as possible.
And last but not least: It simply sounds great.
Great pedal
Really excellent pedal loop. Simple to use with a robust feel and integrates perfectly with my G system. I use this pedal every day now. That's perfect as a practice tool, if you loop some chords and jam over it.
I really advise this little pedal, you'll get addicted to it?
Nearly there
Despite the 'OK' scoring, I like the Ditto because of its simplicity - the quality its makers emphasise. However ... (big reservations coming). A looper that is going to be used for live performance needs to have a 'stop' and 'clear' switch sequence that works invisibly to your audience, and that's where this device lets you down. You must hit the foot switch twice to stop the loop, and that's imprecise but achievable. Clearing the loop is worse though, and you have to stop the loop then hold the switch down. That would be OK, but whilst you're holding it down its playing the first few notes of the loop. Awkward in a live setting. In a practice setting this is an inexpensive and fun looper, but for serious (and especially live) work you need its big brother, the Ditto X2.
Simple
There's nothing much to say about TC Eletronic's Ditto Loop Pedal.
Keeping it simple seems to be its guideline. There's nothing fancy about it, which makes it extremeley easy to handle.
There are only a few facts I'd like to critisize. One is, that there is no option to run it on battery power, which is understandable due to the size, but would have been nice anyways. Other than that, I sometimes also get the feeling that there is a drop of volume of the loop against the normal signal, which could maybe be disturbing playing a gig.
All around, the TC Electronic Ditto is a cheap and easy to learn introduction into the world of loops.
Amazing and simple!
The Ditto is easily the best looper I've tried. Simple, working, small and durable.
It´s really easy to use and because of it´s small size you can fit it to almost any pedalboard. It has all the options you need: rewriting, unlimited loops and 5 minutes of looping time.
Recommend!
Easy to use quality pedal
The Ditto is very easy to use and perfectly transparent. The volume knob seems to not offer enough gain though. The pedal has to be placed on a perfectly flat surface to be triggered properly, especially when it comes to stop the loop. Very affordable quality pedal.
I would buy it again!
I bought the looper because I practice alone. The operation is really very simple. Unfortunately, no AC adapter is included. The sound quality is excellent in my opinion. The case looks very stable. I would buy it again.
My favourite pedal!
The one pedal you'll buy that might actually improve your playing
TC Electronic Ditto
The Ditto from TC Electronic is a small looper for the average guitar player, it is very simply structured and only got one footswitch and one poti. The switch controlls the looping function and the poti the volume or the "loop level".
The quality of the case and the components is very good and the ditto looks like he is unbreakable.
Now to the sound, from my experience on the ditto just takes your signal and send it to the amp without any changes. And thats, for a looper, the most important point ! Therefor the sound is very good, but there are a few negative points at the handling and the features. The looper indeed sounds very good but the handling is a bit hard with only one switch, you need to have a very good timing to do a good loop and you do not have the option to make more than loops and overdubs, there are no more features, well but this is the choice of everyone himself if you need this features or not.
Give it a try, all in all it´s a very nice and simple looper with a good sound and not many features.
Fantastic Looper
What a fantastic product from TC. It's a no nonsense looper with all the craziness and complications removed. It is so easy to use, the sound quality is excellent. Ture Bypass. 5 minutes of loop time. Unlimited Overdubs. Undo and Redo functions.
For some people it may lack features, not for me. If you want to try a looper, try this, you will be amazed.
TC Electronics now have a Ditto 2 out, that may suit someone who craves more features. One more thing, it's the cheapest looper on the market.
10/10.
Pure and simple!
I was looking for a straight forward looper without any drum machines and a ton of other features that ends in an expensive device. The Ditto looper features everything you really need and the handling is also very easy - one footswitch, one level-knob - that's it. You can record a 5 minute loop and do an infinite amount of overdubs. The undo/redo feature is also very useful.
Overall there is only one looper in that pricerange and I can really recommend to try it out!
Perfect for home use
I am using the TC Electronic Ditto at home for practicing and the ditto seems to be the perfect tool for this. It is very, very small, well built and easy to use. First click starts recording, second click stops and starts the loop immediately. Next click starts overdubbing - you don't have to start in the beginning of the loop and you can record continuously until you step on the button next times. Every loop cycle will record on top automatically. Undo / Redo is triggered by holding the button for about two seconds.
So it is easy to use and everything works as intended :)
I tried using it at rehearsals - but it is a bit tricky to stop the loop at the right time, because it needs a double-click. If you need this maybe another device would be better.
Sound quality is great.
easy and great sound
I was looking for a looper that is easy to use and has a great sound. And thats exactly what the Ditto does. Because there is only one button, it is so simple. Just great! Unfortunately it's not possible to export your loop to your computer via the USB-Port, which is for firmware updates only. You have to connect a power supply to use the ditto. There was simply not enough room left to integrate the possibility to use batteries. But thats the compromise you have to make for a looper that simple.
The sound is great, too. I can't compare it to other loop stations. But at first other people don't realise I'm using a looper instead of playing live. So sound seems to be quite good :-)
Awesome looper
Very easy to use without any bells or whistles. Unlimited overdubs with no signal loss or interference. I honestly don't have much use for this live, but for trying out ideas or just noodling at home it's a great asset.
It's unbelievably small which is also the only negative I have to say about it. Due to it's size, it's kind of difficult to make it fit on a pedaltrain type of board. There is just not enough surface to make contact with the bars. You could of course mount it horizontally, but then you no longer have the advantage of it's small footprint.
If considering a straight forward looper this is a great choice. Recommended!
Usefull practice looper
Very easy to use looper !
The simplicity of its design, however, limits its use. The more loops you overdub, the less you can hear the first ones. While it is not "damaging" for practice purpose, it surely is for live performance.
A good jamming and soloing training device.
Simple and perfect!
Couldn't possibly be any simpler, yet this little pedal has all the features I will ever need.
Up to 5 minutes of loops, unlimited layers, studio quality playback. Simply perfect!
One button does it all, one level knob. What more do you need?
Good looper in a small package
It has now been over 6 months since i first started using my TC electronics ditto looper, and it is still a very enjoyable tool to have. I find it easy to operate, although it needs some time getting used to the one single button which controls all the features with different types of double-taps etc. If you plan on using it in a live situation, and not just as a toy for your practicing, be sure to memorize the controls of the button well. I have failed to turn the loop off in front of an audience because of I forgot to double-tap and hold to turn it off.
Simply put, it is a great looper, which, once you get to know it, has loads of features in a tiny package, is great fun and an inspiring tool/toy for your everyday practice or gigging.
Brilliant looper, and unbeatable in that size!
Bought this before heading of for some performances in China, and could not be happier with how it stood up. Audio quality is stunning, the functionality is dead simple, but it just plain works. Best features are the sync (very easy to nail the loops dead on), and the undo/redo; that way you can build add and retract to your loops easily, like adding a funky part on top of a ambient part and just turning that off and on, letting it guide your playing. Highly recommended!
fab for blues beginners
Great for beginners to blues,,,u can lay down a 12 bar and solo over it,,,u hear how bad your rhythm playing is and improve it
Very good and simple
The best thing for me here is simplicity. I dont like tons of manuals for stompbox. Ditto is more or less plug and play. You have 2 or 3 features and thats it. Plug in and rock'n'roll!
