tc electronic Ditto Looper Reviews
have got all the dittos that have come out since this first little box of tricks and while all are great i have a special place in my heart for this little fella love it get one
Simple but fun
I just use this product as a bit of fun to mess around with in my downtime. It's not quite suitable for live playing due to the limited features, but for what it is it's fantastic. The tone is pure, it's easy to use and it's a load of fun. However, Only having one pedal does make it difficult to stop and start the recording in time. This is a clear flaw in the product but otherwise it's tone is great and it's a nice way to practice and hone your skills. Mine unfortunately ran into some electrical difficulties after maybe 2 years of solid playing but this may just be a one off.
A simple and fun pedal but slightly impractical. 4/5
TC Electronic Ditto
First off, this pedal does not use batteries. You will need a 9V adaptor to power the TC Electronic Ditto. I thought I had one, but when it arrived, I realized I didn?t. So, I had to order the adaptor and wait a few extra days before I could try it out?
Speaking of days, I received this from Germany in 7 days. (I live in the US) I was extremely excited to get it, and it was a bummer I had to wait a couple more days?
Was the pedal worth the wait?
It most definitely was.
I?ve been wanting a ?looper? pedal for a long time. After spending several hours searching on Youtube which would be the best for me, I settled on the TC Electronic Ditto.
I play a range of different styles. From metal, to church music, and even Cigar Box guitars. This pedal is working wonderfully for each. I admit, I don?t use it as much for the church stuff, but I have to lay down a wonderful bottom for my monster-metal, and for laying some old school blues for my cigar box guitars.
I wish I had gotten this a lot sooner. The ease of use is amazing. Click once, and your recording. I lay my rhythm down. Click again, I can jam on top of it. Click again, and I can record some power chords over the rhythm, then click again, and I can jam on top of it.
It?s really that simple to use.
The pedal is small, but like Marvel Comic?s Wolverine, it?s tough. Several people have laughed at it because of how small it is, but it feels immensely solid, and it?s had no trouble handling live performances.
The ?loop? tone is clear, with no weird sounds/tones popping up in the playback. I had this small worry that the playback would affect my tone?Nope. It?s no problem at all.
The ONLY issue with this setup doesn?t have anything to do with the pedal?.it?s just a common one people have with using ?loopers.? You have to make sure your timing is right when clicking on/off the pedal. If you leave a little bit of space in-between, you will hear it on the loop. It all comes down to timing?and practice should fix that.
This pedal is wonderful. I love it, and it?s really played a big role in taking my life performance to a whole new level. If you want a pedal for loops, and quality is what you are looking for, right here is your answer? TC Electronic Ditto!
Excellent looper
This little looper is great. If your looking for something simple, easy to use and with a small footprint then I can't recommend this highly enough.
Teeny Thing Packs Huge Punch!
For a palm-sized gadget, you'd expect palm-sized performance, but the TC Electronic Ditto looper punches well above it's weight.
Simple clicky-on and clicky-off operation makes it usable even by bassists, but it does take practice to get your loops correct and I found stopping the loop a challenge at first, as there is only the one footswitch.
As an introduction to looping, you cannot do better than the TC Electronic Ditto looper and it provides outstanding value for money.
Buy it and the only thing that will disappoint you is your terrible timing. :D
Simple but effective
For those of us not technically proficient, this is the ideal looper pedal. One button covers all functions, and there are a few functions. The pedal has a small footprint too, which I like, so all in all, I couldn't be happier.
Good looper
Putting this thing at the end of your pedal chain will make your day, as this is great tool for practicing and just plain fun.
No degradation in sound, with volume switch in order to set your background track.
Overdubbing without limitations, and excellent way to control all functions via only just one switch. Amazing.
Putting this pedal in front of the chain will help you tweak pedals and amp without too much difficulty, as it captures your guitar tone without degradation.
All in all, great looper.
Great, simple looper.
Another awesome product by TC!
Tiny and simple to use
Simple to use and compact. It's impossible not to find room for this tiny looper in any pedalboard! Once you start using this one for common and basic applications you forget other loopers.
Works great
Product is very simple to use. Works perfectly and is build to last. The only thing I would improve is the volume pot which does not really do much once past 12 o clock. It's not increasing the volume a lot.
Also be aware it does not allow any batteries so you'll need a power-plant or power adapter.
Great little tuner
This tuner is one of the cheapest on the market, but is probably the best for price.
With the size of this it can fit on any board and not get in the way.
Being true bypass, there's no drop in quality in the sound so even if you're not using the pedal, it won't effect tone.
The pedal comes in a small box and the casing of the pedal is tough. I've used it outside a few times in the rain and it still works perfectly.
The only downside I see to this pedal is just learning how to use it, but once you get the hang of it, it's really simple.
I'd recommend this to anyone who wants to have a loop pedal but without multiple loops and added on effects. If you wanted something more complicated you should look at the looper x2 or the flashback 4.
A Must Have for The Solo"Bassist"
The Ditto"s very small & simple to Use If you Play "Fretless Bass Guitar or Double bass its Ideal for good "Intonation" Its Pedal switch &"Warning Light" operated "Red light for"Record Mode" & Green Light for Repeat of what you"ve recorded You Can record as many "Layers as you want within 5 Minutes Recording time Its an amazing Gadget and a Great help to the "Solo Artist"
I use the looper exclusively at home, it can be helpful for practicing, but mainly it's just fun to use it.
Lopping control is simple and easy to master, nevertheless closing a loop can be tricky, leading sometimes to an "off beat" loop. With a little practice one can get the hang of it. (but mistakes are easy to do, and if you are playing with someone else it can be a little annoying)
5 minute looping is more than enough, most of the loops I do are less than 1 min.
Overdub function allows to put as many layers as you want, but even if you don't feel any sound degradation, to many overdubs can sound kind of messy.
A minor issue that I found is that the led light is too close to the pedal switch an gets covered by the foot, so you cannot see it clearly.
In summary I loved the pedal, it does exactly what is expected, the sound quality is very good and is an excellent companion in your practice or creative sessions
Nice gadget
It's nice as a gadget. Sound quality is better than good.
It does get boring pretty fast as it doesn't have alot of options. Also you can't use it good in live shows without tap tempo.
When recording somthing and stop the recording I always find the song playing more silent than straight from your guitar. I always record on volume 5 and stop recording, then change volume to 8-10
Endless Fun!
I'm a very 'rootsy' guitar player with absolutely no interest in technology or gadgets. Until now I didn't own an effects pedal. Then, while I was in a guitar shop, I watched a saleman demonstrate this looper pedal to a customer. The sounds he was making were brilliant... and it was all so simple. Even I could understand it!
I had to get one!
This little box is magical! One button, one knob! And let's face it, nobody needs more than one knob!
The sound is as clean or as dirty as you want to make it. The extra layers/loops do not degrade the sound.
The intensity of the loop is up to you, anything from a dominant metal riff to a whispy background strum.
I particularly like it with an acoustic guitar (with piezo). I tap out a rhythm on the body of the guitar and shout in the sound hole... it all comes out on the loop!
Even the most basic player... and that's me... can add simple bass line or three chord tune on loops and solo over it.
No negatives with this (although it's a pity it's too small to have a 9v battery option).
If you're only going to own one pedal... then this is the one!
Good pedal, wish it had an extra button
I bought this pedal to use during live shows in which I perform with foot drums.
First, the good:
- the sound of this thing is clear and dare I say it, perfect. There is no difference in quality whether I use it or have it disconnected completely
- the build quality is excellent. Solid, beautiful, that button is clicky and cool.
- small! This thing is tiny which of course adds to the awesomeness.
- very fun. Jamming is natural and very easy to get into.
Well, now the bad.
- One button. I know it looks clean and saves space but it is soooo difficult to operate during a show for this reason: tap to record and tap to playback is great and natural but if you want to stop it you need to double tap and that does not come natural at all. Also, if you don't manage to delete the loop on first try, you might end up starting a loop again before it deletes which is dreadful in a live show.
To sum up, great pedal but ultimately made for a guitarist with their feet free and more suited for home/studio practice than live shows
Small and simple!
You don't buy this little thing for it's features. It's a really cute little thing. Once you get the hang of it this is an amazing looper with excellent build quality and functionality. Love mine and use it daily!
The most fun you can have alone with your guitar
This compact pedal does everything you expect it to. You click the button and play your electric guitar through the pedal into your amp. You can play a whole song or just a few bars and then click the button again and magically, it's looping around. You can then adjust the volume and then play solos over the top. It's excellent for practice and practice jamming all from the comfort of your own music space without the need of another musician to break your concentration.
The pedal is totally straightforward to use and within about 1 minute of opening the box and setting it up, you're playing and jamming with yourself and playing your favourite solos over your rhythm guitar.
The only slight inconvenience is that you can't use a battery to power this pedal, but it takes most kinds of external power supply, so you're pretty likely to have something lying around that you can use without having to buy a new one.
What you can't get from reading the pedal's description, is the idea of how much endless fun you can have with this pedal. After the fun idea wears off (hasn't for me yet, but might in 20-30 years possibly) you can still use this pedal for more serious practice, but you still go back to remembering that it's fun and you can instantly jam with yourself anytime you want.
Oh and please remember, this pedal is FUNNNNN.
Very good loop unit
The TC Electronic Ditto loop pedal is a great little helper and it is easy to use. The operation can be learned in a few minutes and then you can start to work with it. The quality of the sound of this pedal is very good (24 bit), I would rate five stars for that.
I use this loop device with my bass guitar. The playback volume of the loops is sufficient and there is no loss in the low end bass frequencies if the unit is playing the loops.
I use the pedal with a microphone also. Sounds great, too.
The build quality of the device is very high.
LOOPER !
The only thing in this world you dont wont to stop reapeting !
Ditto looper is an amazing device. Intelligently designed. Very sgodna for players who know what it wants to work with the looper. As if you have a small studio-sized pack of cigarettes. With this Looper, Ditto, you can do anything, I think you can make serious music. Ergonomics, simplicity, and at the end of a phenomenal sound, but also the design is to be applauded. Bravo!
