Does the job. Looks nice.

way more preamp power for the prize.

This preamp is pretty awesome. I have used it with my shure dynamic mic and it sounds great. It provides a lot of clean gain with some buzz if you crank it up too much. Altogether, I think the TritonAudio Fethead does so much especially at the price point.

Great product

Been using it for 4 years paired with shure SM7B. It boosts the Mic enough for it to sound clear. If you want to hear how it sounds you can check out band called Fools on Parade

Bought to provide a clean gain boost for my SM58 microphone, does exactly as expected at a great price.

Great inline preamp

I use it with Shure SM7b, which is known for it's low level signal.

It is noisier, than cloudlifter and noise has distinct hum in it, but still very useful.

Makes my mic's better, and no noisy preamp!

I have used these on extremely low volume recording on my muted piano and even the room mics. Everyone always asks how did you do it, well Fethead is the answer. I also used it with the Shure SM7B, so 5 stars from me!

None intrusive

Yes you could pay double for a cloudlifter, but for me the none intrusive style of the Fethead did it for me.

I use this with my Shure Sm7b, whoa that girl is gain hungry, but the Fethead handles it like a boss, be it connected to my audio interface or straight into the mic, it really doesn't matter it feeds that mic with the gain it needs.

My preferred connection is straight into the Sm7b then xlr to audio interface, people just don't see it as it looks just like some fancy xlr, that's what I mean about none intrusive, there is seriously minimal white noise, even at the highest levels.

I would pick a Fethead over any other, for me it's a no brainer, if you want to see it in action find me on YouTube "The Restless Natives" you will see how the Fethead just blends in.

Should you buy it, my opinion is, you would be silly not to.

Tritonaudio Fethead

In search of in-line preamps, I found Fethead to be perfect balance between portability and quality. Installation doesn't require additional XLR cables, you can plug it into mic diretly or in your main mic preamp. It has EIN of ~ -130 dBu(A) wich is top-of-the-line noise level and gives around 25dB of clean gain for your dynamic microphones.

I use it with my Shure SM7B and i have more than enough gain (Fethead + main preamp combined) even for whisper talk.

Highly recommend it if you have low-output dynamic mic and/or high noise mic preamps.

Great mic preamp

I use that with the R0DE PodMic and R0DE AI-1 interface. Without the FetHead I had to bump the gain all the way up and it was still somewhat quiet - with the FetHead I have the gain knob at a much lower setting and the output sounds great!

convenient for increasing the mic gain!

This has been very helpful in combination with the shure sm7b - it does a great job of giving me a lot more volume on the mic. it does have a certain amount of noise, but not too distracting and it can be fixed in post.

Powerful and convenient

Great preamp that provides solid power and does not require an extra XLR cable, unlike other options. Used it on my SM7B and it works wonders, the sound is clean and the gain is more than enough even with a cheap Scarlett 2i2 3rd Gen interface.

This is a perfect extension for your Shure SM7B. It gives extra gain and it really helps!

Works just as expected!

Bought this little piece of equipment just because I fell in love with the RE-20 mic for saxophone recording. But noticed that sometimes I cranked the preamp up to 75% to get a nice gain with some unfortunate noise as the result. With the Fethead I only need to go at 10% on my Focusrite Clarett. Clean gain, as far as I can tell! Only backside is it connects directly to the mic which makes it kind of vulnerable...

Delivers the goods

Low noise and good amplification. Works like a charm for Shure SM7B that needs this amplification.

It turns my SM7B into a Beast

Title pretty much sums it up.

The gain boost makes a night & day difference on my Shure SM7B.

Comparing it with the same mic but without the FetHead, I'd have to keep my microphone gain on my Scarlett 2i2 on max. volume just to get the same amount of gain that I'd get at around 35-40% with the FetHead on the same interface.

If you have a Shure SM7B and you're looking for that extra gain, I can't recommend the FetHead enough. It's a must have.

Although keep in mind that you can't plug it into the interface, you have to plug it into the microphone directly, otherwise you'll have a lot of noise. Not sure if it's a FetHead thing or a Scarlett thing.

Also, not sure if worth mentioning but since the SM7B is a dynamic microphone, you'll have to turn on Phantom Power on your interface after putting on the FetHead.

Cool feature for your microphone!

Nice, cool sounds behind this thing

Wonderful preamp

I use a dynamic microphone (Shure SM58) with a Steinberg UR22 audio interface. For a normal signal level, I used to have to twist the gain by 80-100%. But thanks to this preamp, I can only turn the gain up by about 50%. Now there is no noise in the recording. That's cool. My rating is 5/5.

Does what it says

It does what it says - a great way to reduce noise and unintended background ambient noise when using a Mic.
