UA 4-710D

I bought this to compliment my UA Apollo. The preamps are great and my ears are drawn to the UA products. This unit brought my UA Channel count up to 8 channels of mic preamps. Love the sound and features

Nice preamp with a lot of variation

This is my first UA product and it was bought this with an offer together with Universal Audio UAD-2 Qua. Overall, this preamp consists of some very good feature which has increased my creativity in terms of tone. The solid state preamp carries a very clean sound and it is good for vocal and other acoustic instrument like acoustic guitar. The tube side slightly colour the signal and it is good for some male vocal (I don't like it on female vocal). The digital converter is a very good feature in particular I directly link that to an optical input of my audio interface.

In terms of the compressor and limiter feature, I didn't find it very useful though it is a good add on. I usually do processing with other plug in subsequent to the recording. However, this might not be your practice and you might found them useful.

Overall this is a very good preamp if you don't have a lot of budget for 4 channels.
