AKG K-271 MKII 5-stars Reviews
Best headphones in the market, I use them for professional radio broadcast for years,
Quality 100%
Despite the price this headphones are perfect for everything you can think of,music, movies, recording home studio, playing electric guitar at night...soft,comfortable,quality pads and cables..what else do you need??
Great headphones
The headphones have a nice mix of bass and treble in my opinion
Very good quality for the price
I use them to home record vocals and guitar. Sound is clear and balanced, exactly what I need to set the tone of my instrument as it should be.
Headphones are comfortable to wear, even if after a few hours you really feel them on your ears.
Very recommended product!
They play quietly on portable devices.
great for studio use, very neutral sound, awesome for recording as well and playing without bothering anyone.
Natural and detailed sound.
They isolate very well from outside noise. The pavilions, covered in eco-leather, are very comfortable even after several hours of use. A second pair of velvet pads is also provided to facilitate perspiration.
The sound is clean, linear and balanced without accentuating frequencies, but at the same time ensuring well-defined and clear details, especially in the medium-high range, which are natural and clear. They manage to offer a clear separation of musical instruments from voices.
They are studio headphones designed not to "disturb" with too many basses, and to leave room for more important frequencies.
Like other studio headphones of this genre, these too need several hours of listening to start offering the natural and detailed sound that characterizes them.
Highly recommended!
Simply as clear sound as it gets ! Have been using it with my Orange Micro Dark and sounds perfect.
The soft leathery material makes it very comfortable to wear for a long time and also very comfortable to wear only over one ear.
The accessories it comes with are also nice, especially the coiled cable it comes with.
May the only drop back is that is slightly more bass shy than expected.
Awesome headphones!
This model became a standard in many studios. I am not surprised, cause these headphones are simply great, accurate, with great frequency range, which is not colourized in any band. Though, if You really love that heavy bass, You should go for something else. I find these headphones perfect and exactly, what I want in studio conditions. They are also very pleasant just for listening to music, but rather at home, cause they would be too big for the street. I like the idea of mute button, when You take them off. Smart and safe. You can choose between velour or eco-skin ear pads. I prefer the second ones, even though the skin gets sweaty with it. You also get an optional spring/coiled cable and 1/8 - 1/4 jack adapter. Everything just feels very professional. I had them already for more than 6 years and they are still great. Highly recommend.
AKG K-271 MKII: 9 months usage review
I use them in my home studio for multiple purposes: tracking, mixing, leisure listening. They do their job great and there haven't been any issues so far.
Prior to these I've had a pair of 10$ Philips headphones, so AKG was a huge update for me.
Pros:
1. Great sound quality. The bass is not hyped, mids are moderately crisp.
2. Great build quality. It can also fit all head sizes, which for me is rather important as I can rarely find a pair of headphones that can comfortably fit my head. The same for hats and caps, but that's another story.
3. Two detachable cables, two pairs of ear pads (I use the velvet ones).
4. Worth every penny.
Cons:
My sitting posture is slightly slouched, so the firm end of the cable sometimes bears against my shoulder.
If you are not sure whether those are good for you, you may consider buying Beyerdynamics DT770 Pro. I bought AKGs because they were a bit cheaper. If the budget is not an issue, take a look at DT770.
Good set of cans
I bought these for my home studio and I have not been let down.
Comfortable, hard wearing and very representative of what it is I am trying to achieve.
If you are looking for a good set of phones for a decent price then look no further.
Comfortably, studio quality headphones
It is really comfortable. It does not bother you even after hours of using it. Its audio quality is really good for its price. I would recommend it.
Really good for mixing
I use this for mixing and it has a very flat sound which is what is necessary for mixing. Comfortable on the ear although after a while it gets moisty in there so every hour at least a break is necessary.
Worth the money
The sound is very well balanced. The headphones are a bit more silent than I anticipated when connected to my hi-fi system to listen to music, but that is not a problem if you turn up the volume by some 10%. However, they are great with my bass amp, no problems there.
They are also very comfortable on their own, but not so much when you're munching some chips while listening to music. Your jaw will feel it, but that might just be my jaw shape at fault :D
Really clean and detailed sound
I bought them for my home recording studio mainly to be used for mixing purposes and it was good decision.
They are isolating all noises around really well, I'm able to listen to music on low volume and I can still hear everything clearly.
At the same time they still breathe which makes them one of the most comfortable headphones in that price range, their size is good and they fit perfectly on ears, default pads work nice (additional velvet pads are included for those who need something with softer touch).
I use them with coiled cable (it's also included) which allows me to keep my workplace out of unneeded additional cables lying around.
Overall quality is good - they are made out of durable materials (unintentionally dropped them & pulled the cable few times and I can say that it's impossible to destroy them during normal work)
If you are looking for good studio headphones - you are in the right place.
Just perfect.
Not writing much, this headphones are really, really good.
excellent quality and balance
so glad I got these, such clarity and even balance throughout the headphones and such an upgrade from my previous (cheaper) Shures.
only downside for me is wanting to run a headphone amp to power them a bit better (I have a very basic home studio and a bit more juice to these would be awesome).
Excellent for both the studio and casual listening
I bought them as my 2nd pair from AKG after owning K240 before. They're a bit heavier and wider, no doubt because of the closed construction. That being said, the sound is really similar, with a bit more full, yet still very controlled low-end.
My main use for them is listening to music at work. The closed construction filters the outside noise quite well, and after applying some EQ they sound really, really high-def, while still being welcoming and not putting too much strain after hours of listening. Compared to e.g. K550, they're much less shrill in the high-end spectrum, but don't lose any of the clarity. I'd say that for casual listening, paired with a proper EQ they're on par with the mid range Sennheiser models costing about twice as much.
The studio use is where they truly shine, though. I use them for silent band practices as well and they're just as good as the K240.
The build quality is great, and the addition of soft ear pads was a really nice touch, because the leather-ish ones were making me sweat underneath.
Pure awesomeness.
I found these to be better than I expected, really. I already owned AKG K712 pro before, which sound better than these of course, but these are closed back so I can use them in everyday life. They work very well as monitor headphones for playing instruments. Great for a drummer myself. I can also use them for mixing, but it's not the best option out there. K712pro sound even more natural and wider, plus they got extra bass, which is cool. Some say that AKGs lack of bass, but this is not the case with K271 mkII, for me. It/s just right, it' tight and it's there.
They are insanely light, almost feel cheap. You get an extra coiled cable in the package, and a pair of velvet cushions. The fake leather wears off after years of use, so that's really a useful bonus.
I/d like to say this, throw KRK's KSN8400 in the corner if you have them, or give them to someone you don't like :) Although KRKs are well made and more comfortable than these, the sound is distorted and very unnatural. I'd recommend these to everyone.
Really nice!
i was looking for a good pair of closed headphones and i found them. The package is really solid and full of additional components ( 2 detachable cables and another pair of ear paddings).
for the price i don?t think you can find anything better than this headphones. Their really confortable and not heavy at all. the equalization is quite good (maybe they have a bit more bass frequences compared with other studio headphones, but in the end their quite good :)
