AKG K-271 MKII 5-stars Reviews
Perfect for tracking vocals
It is a werry clear and a bit thin sound. That works great whenn tracking vocals and a-guitar.
They are werry comfortable.
I would not recommend doing mixes in them but checking his and ?ess? sounds and reverb in them
Outstanding
I recommend these headphones to all. They sound fantastic and feel perfect.
So Clear!!!
Very good and comfortable headphones.. I've been a fan of AKG headphones since 15 years and with those I continue the good tradition. I can realy hear clearly where the instruments are situated acording to the frequence.. and thats amazing... It is realy inspiring to make and record music with those!
Comfy headphones
These headphones are large, but not excessively heavy and they are very comfortable to wear, even for long periods of time.
The sound quality is good with no excessive bass compared to my other gaming headphones, and they come with two sets of ear pads (soft ones and vinyl ones), and two cables (straight and curly).
Not cheap but they are likely to last for a long time - I've had mine for ages and they're going strong.
Fantastic fairly low priced studio headphones
I'm on my second pair of these K-271s now having originally upgraded from K-171s years ago. Really love these and have had no reason to move on to anything else really.
The first big plus was the larger earpieces on these closed headphones. Certainly made playback easier to deal with when recording at home with noise out of my control more likely. I will say, however, that if you wear these for hours without a break they can start to hurt your ears a little.
The sound is excellent. Opinions may well vary on the "flatness" and I'll leave that discussion to people who know more about it than I do, but these have been perfect for recording and playback. When I need to do rough mixes with these instead of monitors they have been very reliable.
These have done me just fine for a long time now whether it's for recording or just listening for music. Can't think of anything better for the price either. Highly recommended.
Great headphone for studio
I chose this headphone because I have always heard very good about it. It has been one of the standard headphone for studio applications for years, and I wanted to try as well.
I use it mainly for mixing, recording, and audio productions.
The headphone is great, extremely comfortable for being a closed headphone. The sound is really sharp and clear, a bit flat on the bass, but it is a choice, since it doesn't mud the sound with unwanted bass sounds.
It looks sturdy, it comes with replacements, the cable is detachable (very important to me).
Totally recommended
Incredible headphones
Got these for work after getting a pair of AKG K-240 Studios for at home and loving them. I wanted a closed version for work because of the noiser environment.
The sound exactly what I've come to expect from AKG, absolutely incredible. I've tested these with a good mix of heavy music and some classic rock. Heavy down tuned guitars still sound as clear as they should and dont get muddy, and the highs are crisp and not tinny.
Even without music playing they are very isolating, I can have my music's volume very low and still not hear any background noise in the office.
They're equally light and comfortable as the K240 Studio set, though they are a little bit tighter, probalby because they are newer, and not to the point of being uncomfortable.
I personally wont be using the coiled cable but its nice to have as you could definitely wear these while out and about without worrying about having to ha ve the volume too loud to drown out noise. I'm undecided about the velvet pads but nice to have the option.
The mute when you take them off is also very cool, not 100% sure what I might need it for, but its very cool.
Great Value for Money!
Highly satisfied with this Headphone.
Sound replication is top notch. Stereo staging is superb. Frequency clarity is brilliant. EQ is flat. Cannot complain about comfort.
If you want to hear every bit of the sound!
I've used these headphones for about four years now and the first thing I want to say is that they have a very good structure. Not a sign of loose screws or cracked plastic. Very durable!
The sound is really good and clean. I can enjoy my music to the fullest by hearing every nuance of sound and every click a drummer makes.
They fit quite good around the ears, but still, after two hours I need to take them off to let them rest (physically) and breathe.
All-in-all it's still my favourite headset!
Amazing heads for the price
I just got them today, upgraded from 171 AKG and I could tell diference right away, secially in bass since that's why I got them, loads of low end clear and crisp, o exagerating any tone.
AKG K-271 MKII
Classic closed studio headphone. Nicely build, although the self adjusting headband could be a bit more sturdy but that perhaps because of my small head. Good sound and clarity, comfortable.
Recommended.
Great cans for the price
If you want some quite linear closed headphones for not too much money, look no further.
I use them for recording (they isolate the direct amp sound very well) and as mixing reference together with studio monitors and another pair of headphones.
They are very comfortable and well built (I've had them for 7 years and I only had to change the pads).
They come with 2 cables (coiled and straight) which plug into the headphones via mini-xlr.
They have a switch that turns them off when they're not on your head.
The only reason to try something else in this price range is if you really want open headphones or if you like a lot of bass.
Great headphones no leakage perfect for recording
Now I can hear everything clearly !
This headphone is a big organizer that comes to your project studio, fixes the frequencies, fixes the problems, helps you hear everything better. In other words; it does everything except cleaning your desktop and ironing your shirts. You can listen to critical details with this headphone. It is also great when miking amps, cabinets or instruments. If you are mixing in a noisy live entertainment this should be your optimum solution tool. Comes with alternative ear pads and alternative cable. This is a must for recording, mixing and mastering applications.
Good sound, easy to have on for a long time
These headphones are both of high sound quality as ergonomics: they don't sit too tights, so it's easy to have them on for longer periods of time, as opposed to many top headphones, which seem to sit too tight no matter how you adjust them.
Great for monitoring
I use the AKG K-271 MKII headphones with my Yamaha THR10 amp while playing quitar at home for not to disturb my family. For this kind of use the headphones are excellent. As the headphones have basicly a flat eq curve from low frequencies to the high treble, they are very suitable for monitoring ? for which I used them also in my past occupation in radio some time ago. Actually I feel that with these headphone I can distinguish the effect of minor amp adjustments more precisely than from the loudspeaker of the small amp itself.
If you are looking to buy them for hifi use, outside of classical music you may be disappointed to the non-amplified base, but in classical music you would value the preciseness of these headphones.
The are so comfortable on your head that one easily forgets any recommendation for not to listen with headphones on for more that an hour a day, one simply forgets that the headphones are there. The cord length was enough, though to increase freedom of movement I also purchased an extension cord.
The package had also replacement ear pads, so I expect to be using these for a long time.
Definitely a good purchase for a monitoring purpose.
AKG K-271 Goob basic headphones
I really enjoy my AKGs, the sound is well balanced and neutral and the quality of the product feels very good. After a while, the muffs become a little hard but alltogether it's a very nice buy and i am very happy about the purchase.
Clear Comfortable Classic
I have been using Sony MDR-7506. It seems that the sound of AKG K-271 MKII slightly outperforms my previous choice, however both models are great. AKG K-271 MKII has higher durability and its easier to replace cable + it has additional ears. It also seems more comfortable, though MDR -7506 is also good.
I have closely studied the issue, and it seems that there is no need to go for more expensive models, AKG K-271 MKII has all the advantages, perfect choice, imho. I would also recommend Sony MDR-7506 if you want to save money. Both models are classic and widely used, one should not be dissapointed.
Headphones
These closed headphones are brilliant. I would highly recommend these. The closed format blocks out all sound and you have a complete surround sound within. The choice of spiral cable cord is an extra addition and gives you a little freedom moving around within a studio.
Very Reliable Headphones
I've had these headphones for nearly 5 years and never had any problems with them. The sound quality is good for all-around use in stuff like gaming and watching videos as well as producing music.
The earpads isolate outside noise nicely, but wearing the headphones for a long period of time causes discomfort in outer ears, especially when wearing glasses.
