Workhorse headphones for all musicians

I have this headphones for few years now, and I am very satisfield with almost every aspect.

They are very comfortable (with velur pads, with leather pads little less), they are light (which is good if you wear them for a longer time) and they sound nice.

The sound is clean and well defined, but these headphones are quite light in the bass area (this is mostly why i gave them 4 stars for sound).

the thing I love the most (as a bass player) is the midrange: it is well balanced, very focused and very useful when recording in studio or playing live, it defines instruments and makes them compact and easy to hear even when the levels of noise are high.

The highs are clear and silky and they dont scream at you when you drive them hard.

Altough they are 55 ohm, they are quite hard to drive (most mixers or headphone amps dont have problems but they tend to be quite quiet if used with phones or some computers.

The quality is very good, mine survived a lot of drops and gigs and are still great with minimal signs of use.

These are still my best allround headphones (especially for recording) altough i use others too (Audio Technica ATH 50X, Beyerdynamic DT-150, Sennheiser HD-25)

Great for homestudios.

The most important thing you need when you're looking for studio headphones is the quality giving you a clear and a true tone. That's exactly what you get with these perfect studio headphones.

These headphones are both comfortable as well as they shut out all noise around you. Other headphones I've tried in the same priceclass as these haven't been comparable to these.

The only thing I would recommend to do is to be careful of running over the cable with your chair or similar things, since the cable seems to be easy to break. I don't think this is a problem as long as you take care of your headphones, as you should do with everything else.

Great headphones for a good price, recommended for home studios.

They won't fail you.

Using for over 4 years now and certainly i would go for them next time, maybe just newer model . They are very comfortable and have 2 ear muffs with them so you can choose whats best for you.

Only concern is bass sound, sometimes i think they don't get it as other brands do but thats maybe just me.

Great product overall

sounds great!

Sounds great! But not many shops sell them here in Sweden. Very comfortable, and a true classic for studio recordings. They do lack some of the punch other headphones have, but all the details are heard. Some people claim the don't have enough bass, but still, they go deeper than most headphones out there.

Precise sound for studio environment

AKG is well known for it´s studio quality products including microphones, headphones etc. And there is a good reason for that.

AKG K-271 MKII continues the line of AKG quality headphones. These are relatively light weight headphones and they are comfortable to wear. Even after use of longer periods of time. Sound is clear and well balanced. Typical to AKG headphones, there is no low end boost so fashionable nowadays. In studio this is good, but I can´t recommend these for people who are looking for a “phat bass” sound while listening to music from a portable player etc. For studio work these are great. That´s where these headphones really shine.

Well balanced for (home)recording

I bought the AKG K-271 MKII on 11th July 2012. Main application area for me is the use as monitor for my (home)recording. It has a well balanced sound. No disturbing amplification of bass, mid or heights.

Furthermore I sometimes play guitar with my Marshall JMD:1 50 Head via DI Out in my Focusrite Scarlett 4i2 and the sound is good. Good enough for playing many hours without any problems.

I love the auto-shut-off feature and it is helpful, that the cable has its own jack to the headphone. If the cable is damaged you only need to buy a new cable. That´s a clever solution.

All in all the AKG K-271 MKII gets five stars from me. Only the heat after long wearing the headphone leads to a minus of one star for comfort, but that does not touch the total result.

The Best Headphones I Ever Used

I recommend these headphones for anyone looking for a pair of good quality headphones for uses in the studio. The sound quality is far superior than what i expected from headphones this price. There is no loss of sound in the high range and the bass is very clear. They are very good in the studio and cut out outside sound well especially at high notes

Great for recordings but also for listening at home

I bought them for their neutral sound and I'm very satisfied with them. When you have a small head you may need to find the right position for the earphones because otherwise the signal stops because of the auto-shut-off. This is a feature I don't really need but apart from that they fit well and the sound is just what I had been looking for

Best studio headphones

These AKG K-271 MKII are my second headphones of this brand. The other I using just to listening music, but i needed something more professional. I made a little research and than I choose this particular product. I making records in my home studio and the quality of the monitors is very important. When I tried AKG K 271 MKII for very first time I felt them pretty comfortable on my head. They are big and fit good. I love the cable. You may plugging and unplugging whenever you want, and change it with another. It is interesting how they work only on the head. When you removed them they doesn't work. It is very cool safety system. And in the end , the sound you hear from AKG K-271 MKII is great.
