Does the job

Does the job perfectly. Good build quality and really can't be beaten for its price. Perfect for rta and phase correction. Flat enough to be easily calibrated and be usable for everyday use.

cant be beaten for the money useful omni mic

i bought this especially to record double bass and it is incredible.

It's omni so you need a decent room, but it is very very useful. try it out on all sorts

Good enough for Rock'n'Roll

Not super quality but unless you have really high quality kit it's probably fine.

I use this for pink noise room EQ with a Soundcraft ui mixer that has all the EQ and Analysis tools needed. It has transformed the sound quality I can get from a PA with acoustic music groups in small venues. I can set up the room EQ for FOH and monitors very quickly and the sound is much more stable and natural as a result.

I'm sure you can buy a truer reference microphone but it probably costs four times the money and if you can't measure or adjust very finely it doesn't really make a difference. 5 star for value.

Good Mic

I use this mic for practice vocal/guitar as wel and it sounds good. There is lots of hiss . But I do not care

Brilliant entry level Measurement microphone.

Used it a hand-full of times with Smaart to measure and tune a pa system.

Can also double up as a hat's mic or anything you may need it on during a show.

There are defiantly more accurate and flatter response mic's at a professional level, but as an entry level microphone for testing and tuning systems/RTA it's pretty solid.

Pretty reliable

My first measurement mic, so I have nothing to compare it against, but it measured my room and speakers quite transparently and showed me clearly where my weak points are. Would recommend.

Does the job

This is useful for small/home studios on a budget that require some examination of room acoustics. I downloaded the trial version of Sonarworks and found this microphone did the job in terms of characterising my space. I could not find an official calibration curve readily available but did find one on a third party website that seemed believable. Perhaps that is a limitation to be expected on a budget (I believe some brands have a specific calibration included) but it seems more than adequate to discern any particular problem frequencies with a given room.

Although fitting several bass traps seemed to make little measurable difference in my room, this microphone was adequate for me to get to know the space for better or worse.

BEST MEASUREMENT MIC FOR THE BUCK!!!

Industry standard mic, cheap and very affordable.

I use it more for Sound System Tuning for live sound, it may not be the most consistent mic out there but it gets the job and and if it breaks it can be easily replaced. Build quality is good (just don't leave it in your car in a hot sunny day).

Overall, it is a necessity in every live sound engineers work bag. Good value for money.

Very satisfied with it!

Compared to the MBC C-550, a little noisier (2dB) with small almost irrelevant frequency response deviations, at a fraction of the price.

Behringer ECM8000

vielleicht gibt es messmikrofone und besser als das oder mit der gleichen Qualität, aber zu einem anderen Preis ist viel höher. es kann auch verwendet werden, um verschiedene Musikinstrumente im Studio aufzunehmen

Test mic from behringer

A friend recommended it as a system test mic !

It is pretty accurate considering the value for money !

I?d happily recommend this mic as a cost effective tool for live sound engineers !

Behringer ECM8000

It is my first measuring microphone Behringer ECM8000. With his help I could define acoustic shortcomings of my studio. For reliable values, at first it is necessary to calibrate by means of the sound card, only then to start measurements of the room. An important exact arrangement of the microphone, differently data of measurements will be distorted. It was pleasant that the microphone has a case for storage as a microphone design very easy and thin. In order to avoid his damage, would ask the producer in stronger case. And so it is good option for minimum price.

A very cheap solution but quite accurate. Worked well in my home studio. It worths the money.

Excellent value for money for use as sound measurement

The ECM8000 is an excellent choice for those wanting to measure sound live or in the studio. It has a great flat response and comes supplied with its own plastic case to keep it safe. Great value and great sound.

bang for buck

Is what it is, affordable room tuning mic. Not a perfectly flat response but who has the kind of money for that mic lying around and then the room they want to fix up? :)

I think it is one of those home studio standards for demonstrating what you can achieve for a fraction of the cost of yesteryear. For the price, can't be beat! If you believe the individual chart you get, even better for the price!

Very happy with the purchase.

Good for

This microphone may not be the most accurate and flat omni you have seen in your life, but for any sound enthusiast who cares about the frequency response of his/her room, this cheap microphone permits to draw a first idea of it and shows what you need to deal with to improve your acoustic, with physical or software treatment.

Done the job for me. Recommend it.

Surprisingly good

It's a cheap mic, but has a really nice sound quality. It's an omni-directional, flat-response, neutral mic designed for room testing I suppose. I use however as a room mic for recording drums mainly and it really sounds good, clear, open and uncoloured. Great value.

It's close enough

When your on a budget and can't afford a measuring mike from one of the more high-end manufacturers this is a not that bad of a alternative. I've used this for measuring my mixing space and rehearsal space to give me a hint which frequencies to treat and in what manner. I wouldn't perhaps use it for anything more crucial but for basic room measurement in home studios, rehearsal spaces and live venues it does the trick.
