Daddario PW-CT-12 Micro Headstock Tuner Reviews
Daddario Micro Tuner
WOW!!!!!!!! This thing is absolutely amazing. I have still been using my old needle point tuner since the 70s - this thing blows me away! So small, so precise, and EASY TO READ even for old eyes! Could not be happier with it. I might have to buy a few more to just leave on my favorite guitars..
Great, easy to use
I wanted a tuner & this little thing caught my eye. All the reviews i read certainly praised it so i thought i would give it a go. Wow great piece of gear. It's small...no... tiny! I originally bought it for my Mandolin & it fits really well. I wanted something that worked well, easy to use & was discrete. Yup this is it all right. The display is nice & clear. The tuning bars turn orange as you approach or leave perfect pitch. When you are bang on everything is green with 1 bar either side of the note you are locked to.
One really great feature is the rotate button. Because the screen can be rotated to allow you to mount it virtually anywhere this stops the note displayed & the sharp / flat direction from becoming screwed up. So cool.
I've used it on my Squire TELE. Now i will point out the mounting is a little tricky as there isn't a huge amount of space available. The tuner mounts perfectly & responds without issue but it took me a while to decide best how angle it so i could read the display. I guess this is the trade off for its tiny size. I'd certainly buy another one or two though, as others have said, to just leave them on the instrument! Cool.
Micro headstock tuner
the tuner is small and effective, barely visible on your guitar, the metronome keeps time well but i don't use it since I prefer audible metronomes over visual one, easier to feel the rhythm than see it. the unit requires a guitar with good sustain, i found on my strat the unit wouldn't pickup the string vibration because of the tremolo. the unit is bright and easy to see in the dark, in daytime the display is harder to see.
Small but packs a punch
Such a handy little tuner you wouldn't even notice it was on the guitar but it's so accurate and useful it's hard to believe , only minor thing is it's so small if you don't leave it on the guitair it is actually quite easy to lose but for the price I don't think there is a better tuner available
d'Addario micro tuner
Very easy to use, the possibility to invert the screen is amazingly useful. sometimes not registering the string from the first time, but another strum always helps. all in all, long battery life, easy to take with you (just leave it clipped on), and very discreet. A must have!
Very small and discrete!
Overall a good little tuner you can hide on the backside of the headstock on your guitar or bass.
Doesn't track the low B-string on bass very well, so tune using the harmonic at the 12th fret.
Otherwise no complaints. A no brainer at this pricepoint!
How did I ever live without the Micro? IMHO it tunes more accurately than the Polytune Nano and as good as the TU-2/3. I have bought three already. The very small size means I will probably break the collar at some point but wow - what a unit!
The Invisible Touch!
This tuner is the best - truly invisible, easy to handle, and multifunctional! Great buy! You'll never make a mistake with that one!
Perfect small mini headstock tuner!!!
This is the ultimate headstock tuner!
Small in size but incredibly fast!!
Couldn't ask for better!
Compared to a snark tuner- works faster- is smaller (drawers less attention to it) and had a metronome!!
Daddario micro tuner
great little tuner, bought this for my son's ESP Kirk Hammett Jnr, much better than I thought it would be
Very discreet tuner!
It is very small and non intrusive, just what I needed for my spanish guitar, It's fitted behind my headstock very discretely. It works quite well but not so well if in a noisy place, overall seems to be accurate but sometimes I might have to fine tune by ear, seems that you have to find the right place in the headstock of the instrument for it to pick all the frequencies right...
The option of inverting the display is quite useful and some other similar tuners don't have it.
The visual metronome in the other hand I find it useless.
I have it for almost 8 months now, used it daily and never changed the battery yet, I'm starting to be amazed by this!
It is very good for the price as it does what is intended to with no fuzz or flashy features, I had other but they didn't lasted enough to earn a review.
Good tuner
Very accurate tuner, haven't tried down tuning my guitar very far (only to Drop C) and it works very well, very hard to see the tuner from the audiences point of view and will fit on pretty much every headstock I have: Les Paul/Telecaster/Ibanez RG/Charvel Desolation.
One downside is the screen isn't as bright as it could be, if you were playing outside on a bright day you might have a bit of trouble seeing it. Anything other than that is fine.
Undercover
Always hated tuners than extend over the headstock, so this is the answer. Small, easily installed (on a PRS guitar takes a while to find the right position) and does the job well. Minor complaint, the clip holding the tuner in place also houses a tension adjuster which is easily pressed when installing it.
The screen is bright, it can be flipped, depending on its position on the headstock and it has a visual metronome, which personally I do not use, but comes handy sometimes.
I use one for every separate guitar I have, no scratches on wood, and it's equally good for electric or acoustic instruments.
Absolutly FIRST CLASS !!
I tried to find a small and correct tuner for my acoustic guitar. This on is perfect. Very lightweight. Red, Yellow and Green LED´´s will show you also in dark situations the right tunings. Absolutly perfect !
Must have
These are a must have for any acoustic guitars or other guitars that aren't plugged into tuner pedals. It's small, and that's part of how great this product is, works well and is definitely worth what you pay for it!
You got to love it!
I bought this pretty, little tool out of pure curiosity and I don't regret it.
+The tuner is very small and does hardly affect the beauty of your guitars headstock.
+It is accurate.
+The display is rotatable und can also be turned by 180° so you can read it in every thinkable position.
Planet Waves Tuner
The Planet Waves PW-CT-12 tuner is a incredibly small Headstock Tuner. Almost the entire face of the tuner is the display, a very bright, backlit display that reads great on stage.
The first really working...
...piezo headstock tuner I had in my hands.
Sometimes it have got some problems on the low E string, so I would not reccomend it for a Bass, but on the guitar it is working really good. It is tiny, but big enough to read the display perfect. Also the colors are a good idea. You will let it stay on your guitar the whole time and with one short press you can see if it is still in tune. The only disadvantage is, that you want one for every guitar.
I'm not using the metronome function because a optical metronem is useless for me, but another realy great feature is, that you can turn the display upside down, so it will really fit any guitars that have a headstock.
Best headstock tuner on the market
After trying 4 to 5 different headstock tuner on my e guitar, accoustic guitar and bass i know tested the planet waves tuner. The other tuner either did not work well or broke down after a short while.
the planet waves tuner is very well and solid build. I was very surprised how small the tuner is. It is fantastic flat and when attached to the headstock it does not effect you playing or the look of the guitar. It holds very well to the headstock and you do not have to fear to loose it.
when i tune the tuner works very fast with nearly no latency. It also is very exact, much bettr than other headstocktuners i know. The display is big enough with two colors that change from red to green when you are in tune.
Altough the planet waves tuner is more expensive than other headstock tuner i strongly recommend this little tool, because it is the best headstock tuner i have worked with.
Awesome small tuner!
I bought this small tuner for my acoustic guitar and what can I say: Tuning is easy and because of the size I leave it on the guitar all the time. Definitely worth the price!
