I have played for 40 years & since I bought my first set of Earnie Ball strings I accept no others strings for my e - guitars. Simple as that !

Hybrid slinky

I'm still a bit of a novice but having experimented with various string sets/gauge, I have settled on this set of gauges. I find the lighter top three much more agreeable for bending like Gilmour/Knopfler - I have nothing to prove !. And the slightly heavier bottom three allow me to set neck relief/string height low enough to get a good action, making my guitars nice and playable without fret buzz. I like the sound and feel of these strings and so they've found their way onto each of my guitars.

Blues Sound, Happy Fingers

I prefer the thicker wound strings for a fatter blues tone, and the thinner high E/B/G for happier fingertips. A great compromise set, and they stay in tune well. For 5 something euros, what more can you ask?

Good Strings

I bought these on recommendation as I am new to guitar. Feel and sound fine to me. Good strings at a good price.

Good hybrid set

I used these on a strat copy in E or Eb. Out of the first set the E and the G strings broke, but they sounded and felt good for quite a while.

Nice set

I bought this set because I wanted to play some power chords and at the same time being able to bend the G B and E easily.

The package comes very well isolated from air. I bought the set and only stringed my guitar 2 months later. After tuning, I played unplugged and almost fell from my chair because sound so clear. It is a good sign that the strings are always fresh inside the package.

It fits my needs and are so comfortable to play. The sound itself was a good upgrade to my old 10-46 strings.

Excellent

You can never complain about Ernie Ball strings. Always the best! Wouldn't use anything else for my Les Paul.

Twanggg

I haven't used these for a while and I did at first notice a twangy brightness which I did like and remember. I like bending strings and these bend really well but they do have a fatter gauge bottom end which still gives power chords some good umph.

Also a few weeks and no broken strings, so that's good too.

Best strings for me

Still the best strings for me. I've been using them for so long now and will continue doing so. I love that you can have a 9 to 46 guage combination. Suits me perfectly. The strings maintain their good sound for a long time but you must give them a clean after every use. Bending the strings is very good, smooth and effortless. They also stay wonderfully in tune. I remember long ago when you had to tune after every song!!! Not with these.

Classic

I bought 3 sets, its to me the best of the 2 world light gauge for the small strings so you can bend easily and the bigger strings are thicker so you can attack the power chords ! Hybrid mi ting deh!

Ernie Ball Hybrid

Ernie Ball strings always were my favorite ones for my electric guitars.

I experimented with various gauges and came across these last year, now I use them on my Strat. I use this set for practicing, small gigs.

Never had a string break.

Great sound, and it is so great that you still get the great slinky bending , but with a slightly heavier and clear bottom end. Ernie Ball strings keep their tone, fantastic sound.

Blues, Rock, Heavy Metal. Drop D, E Flat - that what I use these strings for.

To sum up:

Pros -

Pretty long-lasting

Strong

Consistent

Good Tone

Affordable

Reliable

Cons -

Still didn't found any

Give Ernie Ball 2222 a try and you'll be impressed! :)

Earnie Ball Custom Set

Earnie Ball are my No. 1 strings, I always

get them when I have a chance.

Recently I bought new Strat Deluxe here and was not satisfied with the sound of the stock strings, the low strings were too thin.

So I was looking for something to keep the high strings the same, but with heavier bottoms and I found this set!

Totally satisfied, really suites my Strat and provides the bottoms I needed.

Lasts 1 month for me, with about 15 hours of play per week. Tune great, they endure heavy bends and stuff. Great for Rock, Punk and Heavy Metal.

Cheers.

great strings

I have always bought ernie ball strings. They last, they sound great, and I think that is what you want from strings.

Strings are all to personal preference, but I consider these light strings the standard starting point

all time favorite

I love these strings, they are so comfortabel to play and have a great and clear sound. I alaways have to buy more sets because they don't live long with me, maybe i strumm them too hard... but the price is not that hight so it's not a big thing.

I use these strings on a Strat and a Tele, both sound good with them but you should clean them after you played, if you have sweaty hands they will rust quite fast.

A well balanced set

Not much to say, Ernie Ball make great guitar strings for the money. The scaling on this set is quite different from what you would usually get with a set of .9, because the low strings are a bit thicker, getting to 46 at the low E. Which is not a bad thing if you play rocky/metal tones, or just if you feel that you want a bit more thickness in your chords. Very good strings for a very low price, personally I would use them on a 25.5 scale guitar to get better playability.

Proper choice for little harder sound keeping flexibility of 9'th sets

I normally use Ernie Ball 9-42 sets on my electric guitars. I decided to check how this one (9-46) will sounds like? The results are promising and I am please to have a little harder sound on lower strings. Taking in account usual good quality of Ernie Ball linked with low price I would highly recommend to check this strings to anyone.

How much of an after-thought are Strings?

The three factors that influence your tone the most on an Electric guitar are Hardware, Pickups & Strings!! (Sorry tonewood warriors) - the clarity & projection of Ernie Ball strings are second to none & the 9-46 guage just sing!! Get involved!!
