My default guitar strings for standard tuning

These are the only strings I use for standard tuned guitars (24.75" and 25.2" scale lengths).

Tuning stability is great after you put them through a few cycles of tuning followed by ridiculous bends

They're very durable too... I once avoided restringing a Floyd Rose guitar for 2 years and played it regularly and they performed and sounded perfectly fine. I've since 'fixed' this dirty habit.

If you're going lower than drop D or D standard you may want to increase the gauge to maintain sufficient string tension for accurate playing.

Hybrids

Bought these for yet another experiment. Using them on a Les Paul Standard. Been using various strings/brands at different times before: 10-46, 9-42, 9-46, pure nickel, nickel plated. Of course there are pros and cons for all of them, but for these strings:

Pros: Soft, and extremely easy to bend. Surely easier than the 10-46 Brite Wires.

At the same time looks they will last longer than Fender 150L, definitely have better expression than Pyramid pure nickel, kick juicier lows than EB2252.

Cons: They seem a little noisier than 10-46, so dirty playing will not do for solos. Harder to get the right overtone in the right moment, again compared to the previously used Brite Wires 10-46.

Conclusion: Not sure if the next set will be the same, but for now I am happy with it.

as i said i use daddarios i got these for my brother has hes new to guitar and i didnt even get to string them up before the high e snaped the rest of the string sounds good

Very pleased with these

I needed 9s for my Telecaster, so these seemed like quite a good choice. They sound good to me and I've gone through a tonne of different brands/gauges.

I've been buying them since because they've lasted me a few gigs without breaking and even after wiping them down a few times they eventually wear out a bit and there's nothing like a new set anyways. But basically, I trust Ernie Balls and they do the job !

My favourite strings

I've tried a few other brands but always end up back with Ernie Ball 10s or 9s. Sound nice when new and don't fade as quickly as some others I've tried. I occasionally break a high E but no lifetime issues

It's a hybrid set meaning you get best of both worlds the thin treble side gives that little bit of play for fast leads, legato and bends.

while the heavier bass side gives the firm response and stability for thick rhythm playing

I've been playing guitar for 25 years. I've always liked Ernie Balls. With many hours of playing on them they still feel and sound good.

For a acoustic

I bought one set for my acoustic (Ibanez taxman) and it fits like nothing. Sounds right, nice and bright. I would recommend.

And btw, you can always trust on Ernie Ball, just search your right size and rock!

Perfect strings

These strings are just perfect for me. I was always looking for thick, nice sounding high quality strings and after playing several other brands, I have finally found "my" strings. They sound brilliant, stay tuned for a long time and I can use them for a very long period. I play all kinds of genres with them.

Good sounding, not durable

As for string gauges I think these serve its purpose, though it's not my kind of stuff.

When it comes to sound and durability it is as all ernie balls i've tried: great sounding as fresh, sounds terrible when aged and they do age very rapidly.

Crisp, solid tone

I always come back to Ernie Ball Hybrid Slinkys. I love the bottom end that I can chug into and the top that bends sweetly. They don't stay super fresh for more than a few weeks for me, but that's going to vary depending on finger grease/sweat levels. The sound and feel is just perfect.

Great quality

It's hard to review strings because they're such a matter of personal preference, but I can say that these strings keep their clarity for a long time and feel nice and smooth under the fingers. Great value for money, I think.

Great tone!

I am using Regular Slinky Strings usually. But I bought a Strat last month and was feeling uncomfortable with the 10 gauge strings on this guitar. Since I didn't want to lose the "bottom end" of my tone I tried out the Hybrid Slinky Strings which start with a 09 and up with a 46 gauge. The result was perfect: Bendings work just fine and the low E-string still sounds bassy. Unfortunately the great tone of the strings is fading after a few weeks of usage, but this is known with the Earnie Ball strings. Concerning me it is not a problem because I change strings very often.

Strings

These are my favourite strings which I use on almost all my guitars. The hybrid strings with a bit thicker E-A-D strings suits me great with great tone for rythm guitars and nice thinner strings for solo playing and bends. I can really recommend these!

Ernie Ball 2222 Hybrid Strings

I have always used Ernie Ball strings as they are my preferred brand, I'm used to how they feel and I have always been satisfied with the sound and the quality as well as the price. These strings are as good as any of the other Ernie Ball strings I have used in the past. I used them primarily for learning a few heavier songs in drop-D tuning and they performed very well. The sound is very good as is the reliability, I got about 2 months regular everyday use out of them. The only thing that I would say is a slight disadvantage to using these strings, is that if you are using something like a Floyd Rose, the fact these strings are a combination of two gauges may need you to adjust your intonation if you have it precisely setup for regular 9's already.
