My go-to for low tuned guitars!

If you prefer heavy low tuned guitars, then prefer this set. For me its' the recording standard when I have to deal with heavy tones. Keep in mind, depending on the guitarist, they can loose their brightness faster than other strings but as long as they are fresh they are unbeatable.

Good sounding strings

Clear sound for first 1.5 days of intensive playing. I tune whole step down. Did not management to break one string yet and i pound really hard. Reasonably priced.

Perfect for me!

These strings are perfect for me. They sound a bit dark but no too dark and they down tune very easily. I always liked the stoner rock tone so I wanted to try thicker strings and these fit the bill perfectly!

Pro's

-Perfect sound

-nice feel

con's

-not that durable

A good set of strings

I use these for my Jaguar in drop C# tuning. Can't really say much, apart from that I like the tone and that these strings remain good for a long time. They certainly can take beating and I don't remember a string broken from this set ever. Also, they are relatively affordable.

If you are looking for a work horse string set for a lower tuning (D#, drop C#) - I recommend these.

I just loved them

It's very cool strings, even if you play in standard regime. It's perfect for those guitarists, who plays hard and expressively. I broke some strings but it was totally annihilation of the guitar, believe me. So take them, if you scared to brake the strings at your next gig.

My go-to strings for Drop C tuning

There is something about the sound of Slinkies that is just very signature about these string sets and that is what I love about them! They sound immense, are easy to put on and hardly ever broke on me if it weren't for my own stupidity. Only real downside is that they go bad after like a month, so if you're not a touring musician or a studio producer that changes strings every week or every day these aren't the strings you should be looking after. However, if you are planning on changing your strings regularly, these are a good industry standard to stick by!

Decent strings, don't last as long as others

These strings were my go to for years, simply out of habit. I prefer thicker strings for the added power it gives to the E-B-G strings.

The sound is nice and strong, a bit mid-focused and the treble is rolled off. I do prefer D'Addario's now, as they have the same mid-focus, but have more clarity and more present yet smooth treble.

Perfect for the Jazzmaster

I just ordered the Ernie Ball 2627 Beefy Slinky for my Fender Squier Vintage Modified Jazzmaster. I always had some problems with fret buzz, even the buzzstop couldn?t help. After some research I found out that I need some more ?beefier? strings in order to stop a Jazzmasters? fret buzz. And the Ernie Ball Beefy Slinky really helped in that case. All of the fret buzz is gone now. I?m used to play Ernie Ball Super Slinky or Regular Slinky so I?m really glad that I didn?t need to use 012-gauge. The quality and the of the strings is really good as you can expect from Ernie Ball. They stay in tune perfectly and are really durable. I?ve got them for about half a year on my Jazzmaster and I can?t complain about the sound. As far as my jazzmaster is concerned, I will always use the Beefy Slinky.

Great sounding. But too heavy for me

I thought I would try these to get a more "beefy" SRV type tone.

They do sound great but for me I think I will stick with 10s .11s are just too heavy for me.

Great for slide!

I purchased the Beefy Slinky's to drop on my Epiphone SG as a solely slide guitar. Ideally, I wanted a quality set of chunky (telephone cable) strings and that's what I got with this pack.

With the bridge and action raised massively on the SG and a little setting up (the guitar had 10's on before) I had a great, chunky sounding slide guitar with these strings really contributing.

They still sound great after a few weeks playing. I've got them tuned into an Open E chord.

If you were playing without slide and trying to carry off full tone and more kind of bends, I'd personally find these strings a little heavy in standard tuning, especially with that chunky G string. However, this is a matter of personal preference and might feel fantastic to some.

Very Good

Very good sound, when fresh. I would like to last longer.

Great standard heavy strings

These strings are just as the package describes; beefy. The one problem I have with them is the unwound G string. I'm sure there is an equivalent set with a wound G, and I would tend towards that instead.
