Harley Benton G212 Vertical Celestion V30 Reviews
Great quality for the price
Can't beat the price. Classy Vintage 30s. The cab is decent too. Also love how you can pull off the front super easily.
Rocks small stages
I use this on stage in a 3 piece rock group and it kicks asses! mine was flawless when I received it. The only negative is the tolex is paper-thin but I'm gonna call it a positive because now I can put a bunch of dumb stickers on it....it really is perfect if your moving around a lot playing gigs and practicing a lot and don't want to lug a 4x12 around.....shucks I may get another one of these and do a mini-stack and it would still be easier than hauling around a 4x12 IMO.
In case you are wondering I've had it and used regularly for about two years and believe it will last me a good long time.
Fantastic
Pros for this cab
Well built. Very solid construction.
Easy to carry with perfectly placed side handles (much better than top handled cabs)
Very loud
Excellent sound
Best bang for buck on the market.
I use this cab with an Orange Pedal Baby and a Helix Floor. I've done a few gigs and the sound is fantastic. This setup will get you louder than a drummer, with headroom to spare.
Compared to a Hughes and Kettner TM212 2x12 cab (this one has V30's too) the Harley Benton is slightly brighter and has slightly less bass.
Can't speak for longevity yet, but I imagine this will hold up for my entire gigging life!
Highly recommended.
Best bang for the buck
It’s very sturdy, well build and sound super great, would recommend
THE perfect beginner's cab
2x12 closed back cabinet, Celestion speakers, removable grill (if that's your thing). You can't beat the value, and the tones it reproduces are incredible! I use it for bedroom practice and basic home studio work but it's versatile enough to gig with (venues sized within reason of course) and pairs great with small amplifiers that are all the rage these days.
Amazing product and company!!
A great-sounding and affordable cabinet arrived halfway around the world, perfectly in tact........in FOUR days!!
U guys rule!!
defo Vintages are there
Well, it's mostly the one-trick pony for various rock/metal genres. Mid-range from the vintages are able to get through any mix you playing/recording. Мery harsh and very hoarse. I record it with Mesa Mark II and EMG 81-85 set of pups and it's ready to use recipe without any sort of post-production additional equalization.
On the other hand, the skin is very delicate and damaged it literally at the very first live performance. But there are simply no other alternatives for the price.
Also, very convenient and lightweight for transporting.
Amazing Value and Quality
After many different reviews and sound bytes reviewed I finally decided to make this purchase. I don't gig with the cabinet but I can say that it feels very sturdy and for the price the construction is great. Metal handles and corners you wouldn't expect at this price. The cabinet sounds great with my Orange Dark Terror 15 watt head. I will be purchasing more in the very near future so I have a set for practice and a set for gigging. If I were you I wouldn't hesitate and buy this cab if you're on the fence about it.
Outstanding for the price
Solid cabinet, ply construction and the Celestion V30's sound great. For the money this is a no brainer. DSL20 combo with internal 12 inch 70/80 now playing through this cab - night and day on the sound. Very impressed.
Nice Cab
Got this cab because it's a vertical 212 with v30s for cheap as hell, so yeah lol, great bang for the buck obviously. Not an issue for me but keep in mind this cab isn't stereo, if you want that get the horizontal version. The box shipped with the famous UPS signature speed-holes, but the cab was fine and undamaged. For how protection was done in the package, the box had small cardboard things on the corners to protect em (same thickness as a cardboard box) and the whole cab is in a big plastic bag, which is inside the box it ships in. I think that this could be improved. Outside of that sick sounding cab as you would expect it to be and I'm happy with it! Don't have any gripes about the cab itself
Thumps just right
I was looking for a cab for my Friedman jj jr
This fit the bill; 2xv30 for under 300$? Uh, yes please.
Pulled the trigger, not disappointed; good build quality, good sound, lightweight but solid. Love it
Had a small tear in the tolex, even though the shipping box was not damaged. I decided to keep it regardless of the slight damage, because I don’t care and it sounds great!
Need a cab? Get one of these.
Great sound, quality isn't the greatest but the price probably is (mono only)
First things first. If you want a stereo cab, get the horizontal version, this is mono only.
Bad things second- quality isn't amazing throughout- one of the plastic nuts that holds the jack in place is stripped so the jack pops in when I connect a speaker cable in. To be fair its the only thing and can probably be sorted by getting a new metal nut for 50p. still annoys me enough to get it down to 3 stars, probably harsh form me. Tolex feels thinner than on my marshalls but it hasn't ripped.
Good things- Delivery was quick and although the box was a bit damaged the cab was fine so they're not that delicate. Sounds amazing and it's a bargain price.
Overall-I'm very happy with it. I should have got a stereo cab though for use with my axe fx but that's my fault and it could possibly be converted with a new jackplate.
Great Cab
I gave it 5 stars total cause it's a great value. It looks and sounds great at a price that matches. I have it hooked up to a micro dark and it's a great budget package.
Awesome response
I love the sound range I am able to accomplish with this speaker, it suites my needs perfectly.
Well done
Another great product from HB it Works well, and sounds good with my hughes and kettner tube amp
Harley Benton G212 Vintage Vertical
Bought it for the speakers. Turns out that it is well built, and can handle pressure. A little bit on the heavy side, but the sound deserves it. More than perfect for the price.
Buy this, you won't regret it!
Awesome sounding cabinet for sure! Would definitely buy again!
great cab, great V30 speakers! love it.
4 stars on quality, only because by the time it got to me in FLA USA it was banged up,not the best packing job.
The Absolute Best Budget Option
Essentially what you're getting here is a pair of real Vintage 30s in a fancy case for the price of less than two Vintage 30s bought separately. It sounds great (I mean it's a pair of V30s, you know basically what you're getting), even has some baffles that I think might add a touch of extra resonance in the low end? Size-wise it's slightly shorter than some vertical 212s due to the staggered arrangement of the speakers, but the footprint is still pretty compact and a very nice size to stack smaller lunchbox heads on top of (might be a bit narrow for large heads though). It's also got a removable grill cloth, great for recording so you can get a mic right down on the speaker cone if you want.
The price saving definitely comes in the finish. The tolex skin is quite thin and feels like it would probably scratch easily if you're planning on hauling it around a lot (whether that matters is up to you!), and I noticed the velcro for the removable grill cloth is literally just stapled on. It's not what I'd call "high quality" in terms of aesthetics or anything. But as far as the actual construction goes my unit at least is perfectly solid, not wobbly or anything in the slightest. So *functionally* it's perfectly fine, just don't expect prettiest cab in the world (and at this price you hardly should be expecting that).
TL;DR - if you're looking for a solid cabinet that sounds good on the cheap, just stop looking and buy this because you're not going to find anything else this good.
Great value for the Money
Purchased this cabinet on a whim and I must say it's great piece of gear for the money and comparable to others that are 2 times the cost. The only negative I have is I wish that qc was a little more diligent because mine came with loose connections with speaker wire. Overall great product and have high hopes for Harley Bentons future endeavors.
