Harley Benton G212 Vertical Celestion V30 Reviews
Great budget option
gave me no problems, the v30s work perfectly on a closed back combination and at this price point there is no going wrong with this choice.
Goes perfectly well, with my egnater rebel 30 mkii but i've played multiple amps through it, from fender cleans to marshall crunch and all worked perfectly.
the built quality is good, i havent had any issues whatsoever
it's easy to carry with the side handles.
there's not much more to say, great product, much better than anything else i've experienced at this price point
How do they do it?
I decided to give this cab a try based on the review of Glen Fricker of Spectre Sound, on his YouTube channel. Several others also gave it very high marks but Glen's opinion clenched it for me.
I've only recently picked up the guitar afet some 20 years of playing bass. I'm a rocker. Classic, Alt and Prog. But for guitar I'm going for straight up rock, Zepplin, Foos Alice Cooper and the like.
I decided to run the cab with a Joyo BanTamp Jackman amp 20 watts of tube/valve power. So far in my very limited time with it I have to say I love it. The clean sound is very full sounding. A touch on the bright side, which I think comes from the amp. Give it some dirt and it really shines. I'd say it compares very favorably to many of the higher end Marshall cabs.
Dollar to dollar this cab is unbeatable. Get one while they are still a low cost secret!! Neither you or your audience will regret it.
Bargain!
This thing sounds about the same as my Marshall speakers. At this price, it's a 100% no brainer. It is closed back and unfortunately, there's no easy way to take the back panel off, but at this price - who cares?
Great deal
Souns as good as my Mesa Boogie 2x12 vertical cabinet at 1/4 the price. I love the cables as well the SSnake cables are fantastic and very inexpensive compared to what is sell ing in the USA.
"Chrome" paint on logo comes off instantly.
Good: Overall it's good enough but on the verge. Nice speakers obviously which gives nice sound. Pretty much strong body even with metal corners. Nice price.
Bad: Assembling quality is far from perfect but check the price. Needed couple of fixes right after unboxing. Worse part – "Chrome" paint on logo comes off instantly, just don't touch it, literally, at all.. or just throw it.
Conclusion: Wanna save money and still have Vintage 30s - buy it. Wanna enjoy the perfection and quality - buy something else.
When the package arrived at my house, The cardboard box it came in seemed to be in fair condition. There were some small dents, but nothing that caused me to be alarmed. When I unboxed the cabinet, there was a dent in one of the corner trim pieces, there were dents on the front of the amp on the right and left of the frame, and the Tolex material was damaged at the site of the dents. There was no protective packaging at all, so international shipping under these conditions may cause stress to this item. The damage seemed to be minor, and only cosmetic, so I kept it without complaining.
I plugged an Orange Micro Dark into it (that was all I had) and was blown away by the sound quality. I messed with all of the settings on the amp head and played several different guitars (and several styles of music) and the Harley Benton G212 Vintage Vertical cabinet was able to create a tone that was exciting. Rich when it needed to be rich, clean when it needed to be clean, gritty when it needed to be gritty, and powerful the whole time.
Keep in mind, I only plan to use this at home. It will make practice more fun, and will be awesome to have around to jam with friends. However, I can see this being used for small gigs.
The feet on the bottom are durable and protect the bottom of the housing. That along with the built-in handles will make it easy to move around as needed. The front cover can be removed and reapplied easily. One dented metal corner piece has already proven to protect the unit from damage.
Just be on the lookout for damage from shipping, and crooked screws.
Overall, I love this cab!
It's a fantastic Cab
Honestly I don't want to move a 4x12 arround and a 2x12 is the best option for me. I don't see why I should pay premium for the same product but by one of the bigger brands. This thing sounds awesome and when you consider the price it's a no brainer.
What I like (except the sound) is that it's very light. Moving it arround is absolutely no problem. The only negative I can think of is that it's a bit narrow for a full sized guitar amp, so my Bugera 333xl stands on it's belly on it, but that's not an issue for me.
In conculsion: If you are looking for a light, great sounding, Vingate 30s loaded cab, which doesn't leave your bank account dry like a desert, this is the one.
Amazing
The cab arrived quickly after shipping. One of the rubber feet came unscrewed but it was an easy fix. The cab sounds amazing with all the heads tested. Very bright sounding and clean. Thinking of buying another.
Harley Benton G212 Vintage Vertical
i saw this cabinet reviewed on youtube and needed a decent speaker cab. this item was out of stock when i odered it, i waited about 2 months for it to arrive. what a great value and sound. well made lightweight cabinet. i'm a very happy customer.
Best value in cabinets
If you don't need a heavy duty, tough as nails touring cabinet and don't throw your gear around like a gorilla, this is probably the best value on the market. Obviously if V30's aren't what you want then it isn't for you, but if they work for your music you owe it to yourself to check this out. The price is crazy low, the quality is good, the look is good, the weight is among the lightest on the market. Let's face it, most of a cabinet's sound is the speakers and whether it's open or closed back. This is a closed back 2x12 with V30's for essentially half price. I compared it with much more expensive cabinets and while they may have had slightly fancier finishing they didn't sound any better.
Great!
Better than expected!
Sounds great, looks great.
The build quality seems really nice.
The Celestion Vintage speakers really give it something extra. I do not think I would purchase the version without them. But this one that has them inside is definately a bang for you buck.
Worth every penny.
This is exactly what I needed. A killer sounding cab with legit speakers for an incredibly affordable price. Super happy with this purchase.
Brilliant Cab
Good construction and fantastic Celestion vintage 30s. What a sound and for less than you can buy the speakers for!
A third of the price of a similarly equipped big name cab.
I play an Origin 50 through this and it handles the sound perfectly.
Perfect for the price
If you want a 2x12 with Celestion V30's this is the one to get.
A give away at this price and sounds superb paired with my Laney IRT studio.
The price of this with the included v30's is just insane. Sounds powerful and aggresive without being unpleasant, kind of a warm big sound. Swapped the upper speaker for celestion h75, which made it a bit brighter. Very nice match for my jet city vintage 20. Its also very light, which makes it easy to transport. Not really the lowest and most powerful of the low end but what do you really want for this size and price. Makes some space for bass anyway!
Great 2x12
I love that the grill of this cab can be removed, which makes it great for getting your mic all up in that speaker to get the greatest possible sound out of it for recording. I main use this cab with my joyo zombie, so it helps since you only need one speaker cable to have access to both speakers, and as an added bonus, I got one of my other speaker cable and used the through input on the back of the cab to connect that to my harley benton v1x12 and ended up with a 3x12, don't know if that was what the through input was meant for, but I really enjoy using it that way. so I would definitely recommend this cab to a fellow musician.
can't really find anything bad to say about it but when it arrived there was water damage to the box it came in. so naturally I thought that there might be some damage to the cab, but good thing the plastic bag it was wrapped up in kept it from getting any water in it.
A great deal for the money.
If you are playing smaller shows this is a great cabinet. It's small, light, and the great speakers make this a perfect choice for a gig rig.
Best cab for small studio
this cab sounds great it has its own tone and blows any mesa cab ive owned or played through away and for the price its a god send
Basic cab - slightly disappointed
Had read good about this cab (or atleast the straight one). This one seems quite handy for monitoring due to the angle but still requires a lift to elevate the top speaker.
The sound is "decent". It's surprisingly muffled compared to 4x12 Orange for example. There is definitely enough low end but I have a hard time finding any mids while my earplugs are in. Playing by myself without earplugs is a different story but I did not buy this for recording.
Unexpected!
Sounds MASSIVE. Works great with my Axe FX! Can't wait to gig with it. Feels very well made. In my past experiences with v30's they have always sounded shrill, but in this cab they sound warm.
